I may not be okay with how Lynn was avoiding Lincoln after all this time, but I do have to admit that I realize her reasoning for her actions was spot-on. I mean, look at what Lincoln is trying to do right now – he’s trying to convince Lynn to stop torturing herself, accept the L.A. Galaxy’s offer and move to California to pursue her dreams. This is exactly what Lynn didn’t want to happen and it’s happening right now. Lynn would not have made this drastic decision if she did not want to fully commit to pursuing a romantic relationship with Lincoln. Her heart is telling her to go for it, but her brain is trying to make her see reason. Both siblings, however, are at an impasse right now: Lincoln doesn’t want Lynn to give up her dreams because of him, just in the same way Lynn doesn’t want Lincoln to change his life for her sake. It’s the equivalent of a Pyrrhic victory right now and it’s not pleasant. I can appreciate Lincoln’s initiative but sadly, it comes off as unrealistic. Number one, Lynn Sr. is not about to close up the restaurant that he’s already worked so hard to establish from the ground up. He may have found success here in Royal Woods, but that doesn’t mean it will be the same way in California. And number two, it wouldn’t be right to have their five younger sisters uproot their lives and dreams. That wouldn’t be fair to them; they’re innocent in all this. I also have to say, I love the big panel showing Lincoln kneeling down and hugging Lynn from behind. This is the first time in quite a while that they’ve had close contact with each other and it’s been long overdue. And the hug is not just for Lynn’s benefit, it’s also for Lincoln’s, too. He’s suffering just as much as Lynn and fighting the same feelings and internal battle with his heart. He needs that comfort and reassurance just as bad as she does. Only time will tell if they make the right decision together. And to that, I say: no risk, no reward.
