Rewrite the Stars 5 - Update

This is going to be a short post, kind of a very impulsive decision on my part.

Two days ago I made this post, where I shared my plans going forward. The first step, as I shared, was writing the script, and I estimated that could take one or two weeks.

Welp, turns out I underestimated how much I'd already thought about the story and what I wanted to happen. The script is done.

There were two big decisions/plot points I hadn't made up my mind about. One of them I solved by talking with a friend, and the answer just hit me in a strike of inspiration. The second plot point was a big decision I wasn't sure I could commit to. But ultimately, I think it's something that would separate my story from countless others that deal with similar themes. Make it unique and challenging, and at the end of the day, I think that's what I need to prioritize above everything else.

I finished the script yesterday, tuned myself out of the story for a full day while I was busy doing other stuff, and I have JUST finished re-reading it from start to finish.

I teared up a little. That's how I knew I'd nailed it.

Now, I'm very prone to cry when I'm interacting with fiction, I don't try to act tough, I welcome and encourage myself to let out all my emotions, I love how cathartic it is to cry when something sad or beautiful happens. So I'm by no means suggesting that YOU will cry.

But every story I write (or draw, in this case) is the type of story I love to consume, so I know I'm on the right track when I'm getting emotional with my storytelling decisions.

Alright, this turned out a bit longer than I expected lol I'll start working on the lineup this weekend.
