FIRST TIME WATCHING: Jessica Jones S1E13 (season finale)!!

IT'S TIME FOR THE SEASON FINALE Y'ALL!!! Man, this show was so fun and captivating!

Just a little heads up: I left my outro in this video, but it is un-edited as I'm currently traveling while writing this and don't have time to cut out some of my pauses in the outro and re-export it (as this was originally edited by someone on my team). Thanks for understanding!

Can't wait to hear your thoughts in the comments below! As always, take care and ✨stay golden✨

FIRST TIME WATCHING: Jessica Jones S1E13 (season finale)!!

Comments

I'm so behind, finally got to watch this one tonight with you. You obviously noticed Clair from DD but did you notice That Police Sgt. Mahoney from DD was in an earlier episode? He, under Killgrave's control, let Jessica go after she brought Ruben's head to the police station. This is just the tip of the iceberg with these crossovers. One minor character from this episode is extremely important in the next season of DD and be prepared for plenty of those characters from both showing up in Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Some people don't like JJ s2 and 3 because there's never a villain like Killgrave, but how could there be? Going into it to enjoy the story and watch where these characters grow and change is well worth your time. Just don't go in expecting to repeat Season 1. I agree, Killgrave is the best antagonist in all of the MCU, but JJ has always been more about inner demons than external ones and in that respect I feel the show gets better with every season and I can't wait till she's brought back.

Jordan Love

The Defenders Saga largely happens in order. Kilgrave is such a good villain, i don't remember much from the other seasons.

Robert Miller

Nice reaction to Jessica Jone Nat, I been hearing what your thoughts are on watching The Defenders saga, and as someone who’s watched everything a couple of times now over the years, you have to look at this saga as 13 seasons not individual shows that you just pick from they have order and they need to be in the order of release as the story and certain characters storyline follow into the next show. I know I’m gonna get flak for this but it’s now Netflix intended it to flow, and it’s even more important that you see it through now that we have confirmation that we have rebooting of Daredevil and The Punisher next year. So your next show is Daredevil s2 and the Luke Cage s1. (Where you find out where Luke went)

RebRox65

It's a great idea to take a break before "Daredevil" S2. It is a lot of content to get through and you don't wanna burn out on it

minuteforce

please watch all the netflix marvel shows

Anthony Jackson

The mindstone would most likely make Thanos immune to Kilgrave since the stone's power is similar but more powerful than Kilgrave's power.

Richard Maurer

The Defenders is worth watching. And while it helps to watch all the setup you could get away with just Daredevil S2. Assuming you are happy with avoiding someone saying Kun Lun 35 times each episode…

Christopher Gray

Season 2 wasn’t that good but I really enjoyed season 3. The villain was really good and Trish’s development was great.

Shanice W.

Think it was Roger Ebert who once said "The first storyteller around the campfire, long ago, could have stopped his tale near the end and asked his listeners how they wanted it to come out. It is to our benefit ever afterwards that he didn't." I was referring to THAT difference, namely that stories do not exist to stroke our ego with skewed wishful perceptions of the world, but to follow a character from point A to point B, and all the challenges in between. If we see ourselves in the character, that's sometimes a good thing, and maybe 1% what the author had in mind, but if we do, the other 99% is completely on our nickel. There's a thin line between the female fan who thinks the Invisible Man remake was talking about her own boyfriend, and the nut in the tinfoil hat who thinks Anderson Cooper is sending him secret coded messages on CNN.

Eric Janssen

Tony Stark's story is much more about learning the errors of his arms-dealing ways and using his financial and intellectual privilege to help people than it is merely about a man with a suit. Relatability to the real world is the main point of storytelling. Even if all you're relating to is the thrill of power, it's still a message about responsibility. As Lord Byron, a man, once said, 'I hate things all fiction: there should always be some foundation of fact'.

Ed Green

Basically, because the reason women become addicted to favorite movies or binge-series is, they have a tendency to think the story is "real", and therefore commenting directly on their own personal lives by demonstrating helpful advice by example on how to live more independently, or shameful indoctrination of how male society is "telling" them how to live. To female viewers, every show is one of those computer-generated My Adventure kids-books with their names in the story. (As any guy knows who's ever taken his date to a movie and heard the One Female Movie Criticism in existence: "That was the worst movie ever--The heroine was so stupid...I would never do that!!") Therefore, they don't believe they're watching a psychic villain from the Marvel comics, they believe they're watching a Lifetime seminar on how modern women should deal with a toxic controlling boyfriend. (Ie., all of them.) I'm more of an Iron Man fan, m'self, but I don't feel the movies were offering me sufficient enough lifehack information on how to build my OWN vibranium power suit to get my lifegoals in order.

Eric Janssen

When JJ first came out, before I got around to watching it, SOOOO many of my nerdy female friends raved about the quality of the show, but also how closely it touched them. They all felt close to Jessica in her DV trauma, as well as the fear, frustration, and hopelessness that comes from not being believed about said abuse and trauma, feeling responsible for everyone that comes after them in their abuser's life, etc. Kilgrave may have been a superpowered villain, but his methods, his aims, and his personality are so much like so many people we encounter in the real world.

Sean Irvin

I think Kilgrave is easily the best villain. He's terrifying because he represents a lot of real-world people that others have to deal with. Gaslighters, abusive partners, narcissists, stalkers, etc. Sure some villains may want to destroy the universe or rule the world, but we as an audience know they can't truly win. But someone like Kilgrave? His power is more relatable. His stakes are much, much lower and therefore believable and terrifying. And his control over people lasts much longer than his power, since he was in Jessica's head the whole time. I also liked how the show didn't show him right away. They made his presence known long before they showed his face.

Jomero

That was absolutely awesome. Just very happy you did this show :) I still hope you just keep to the release order all the way to Defenders and then you can decide later if you want to continue watching any of the further seasons if you liked them more than others. But at least this way it will all make sense in Defenders. The other seasons don't really connect after Defenders.

Heliastein

Ever seen Broadchurch? Tennant does an amazing job in that series, too. Or the movie Bad Samaritan, if you want to see him in another villain role.

Michael G. Munz

I so very much want a Broadchurch reaction after this.

Michael G. Munz

I have to disagree with you that Kilgrave is possibly the most formidable villain, as you said, becau- “Thanos, hand me the gauntlet.” Oh shit….

Wex

Great to rewatch this with you :) Fun facts. 1)David Tennants character in the comics is called The Purple Man. 2)Jessica was classmates and had a crush on Peter Parker. 3)Luke and Jessica get married and have kids in some futures. 4) David Tennant plays The Doctor in a great show id love for you to check out. (Good for consistent content if you end up enjoying it) can’t wait for your next super show and anything else on the way :)

Eggomage29

Technically it's not about young Bruce, it leans more into that as the show goes on, but really it's about Jim Gordan But also, yes, it's a fantastic show.

Kevin Bartelen

Please react to the Gotham tv series, it ran for 5 seasons and it's about Bruce Wayne as a child before he became Batman, the show also has origin stories for Batman's enemies like the Joker, Scarecrow, Bane etc. It was a fantastic show and if you loved the Dark Knight trilogy movies you'll love this show.

JokerDanny

'Blink' comes to mind. It's iconic, you don't need to know anything much of the backstory to follow the plot, and it's alluded to in Jessica Jones S1 with the line about him telling the servants not to blink.

Ed Green

when Kilgrave said he would make Jessica beg for him over and over again while he rejects her if he got her back under his control, that's a reference to what he did to her in the comic version. he would take random college girls, make Jessica watch them bang, and make her beg nonstop to join in. And while he was doing it, he admitted he was taking out his frustration from all his failed evil plans out on her. That the torture was for every time that Daredevil and Spider-Man (specifically those two) resisted his mind control with nothing but sheer willpower and kicked his ass. So she probably could've taken Claire up on the offer to call Matt since he is one of the few that can resist lol

Jahny Bravo

It's funny you apologizing for leaving a more unedited outro on the video. :) We're here to see the more unedited stuff after all :P

FalcorDragon

I would love to see a one off reaction to an episode of Dr Who with David Tennat. Just so people can see him as a fun good guy

Theoshin

Big yup on that! :)

Logan Kerlee

Kilgrave is an awful villain. He isn't nearly as formidable as say Thanos, but he most definitely is a nasty villain. Any villain with mind control abilities is terrifying. I mean, I see Kilgrave as an able bodied evil version of Professor Xavier, more or less. I really enjoyed watching this season with you Nat! It was definitely a great one. I don't know when or even if you'll be doing season 2 and 3, but I'm hoping that you will! This show's very fun for me to watch and I always get a kick out of watching your reactions to it.

Logan Kerlee

I really loved the unedited outtro! Always interesting to just hear your unfiltered thoughts as you ramble on :D

Danishprince

I loved rewatching this show. JJ is still my favorite in the MCU (including all the movies), now I can say it with more confidence :D

Fostena

Happy Tuesday Nat. What an amazing finale to this series. So many moments to catch you out and had me on edge throughout. Such a great way to finish the season. I'm looking forward to even more puppies in the Cameron Edit 😊 You sounded frustrated that the show wasn't getting the numbers on YT, but I for one am glad that I got to watch this show for the first time on your channel. Been an enjoyable ride every week, shouting at the screen about things that you'd missed, and you pointing out a lot more things that I'd missed 😂 I enjoyed your extended outro too. Watching your process as you put together your thoughts about the series before relaying them to us, was very cool to see 🤗 Thanks for all your hugely entertaining reactions to this great show Nat 💛

Darryl Low

David Tennant did the character of Killgrave sooooo well. I knew him before, from Doctor Who, in which he is my favorite doctor. But god DAMN, his writing and performance in this season was amazing. This season is definitely top tier, when it comes to the Netflix/Disney Marvel series

Shurikinney

This isn't really a spoiler, but for fans of the comics, the scene of Jessica imagining a future with Luke really resonates, because in the comics they get married and have a child together.

Michael Ford III

It's been so great re-watching this season of JJ, thanks for the reactions Nat! HotD and Stranger Things are going to make for an interesting pair for the rest of October haha.

Erik Stevenson

I know these are older, but can we return to the private detective theme with Maltese Falcon or Magnum, PI?

Ben Wheeler

Lets bring on daredevil season 2! After a break of course.

jamie jones

At the end, Luke had to leave because he realised that he had his own show to get to.

Thomas Richter

I love this season of this show & your reaction, unfortunately you hit the nail on the head when you said the villain was one of the most engaging things about it. I also agree that dragging it out wouldn’t have been great… but you definitely feel him missing for the rest of the series, it’s never this good again. Although you might like the rest more than me, since the theme of addiction is definitely explored a lot more going forward.

RavenHairedSongbird

See that wonderful feeling you got when you saw when you saw Claire come across your screen when you didn't expect it? You'd be depriving yourself of a ton of those if you skip the other Marvel shows cause it happens quite a bit and it's always a joy. I've said before I don't care if you take breaks and I mean that. Just want you to watch the entire Defenders saga the most rewarding experience possible. Looking forward to Luke Cage after DD S2.

ConsciousChronicle143

The post must have the wrong tier

Ferco

they had to let Jessica go because they won't have a case as soon as the police takes the witness stand.

FatLittleButterfly

just know when you pick up again, the next one is daredevil s2. Also remember that lawyer that was with jeri hogarth and jessica at the end. She will be important to daredevil s2

Degenerick

I truly hope that you watch at least all Daredevil and Punisher. They're truly worth it.

Kalle-Tapani Isomaa

Why?

Martin

Season 1 of Jessica Jones is S tier Marvel. Great writing & performances from Krysten Ritter, David Tennant, and the rest of the cast. Great reaction Nat!

Steve

Yup. I find Luke Cage much more enjoyable than Daredevil. For me the ranking is: Jessica Jones > Luke Cage > Punisher > Daredevil > Iron Fist

Danishprince

Yeah I thought that was weird lol I just wanted to vote for the next show but apparently I can watch this 😂

Tayyib Majumder

More excited for Luke than for what happens in DD S2? I mean, to each their own, but the first half of DDS2 is top tier. I also liked Luke Cage, although I felt a bit disappointed towards the middle of S1 (won't go into spoilers but you can figure out why), but it came nowhere close to bein that much emotional and engaging for me.

Bou _

I know.. I'm just way more excited for when she gets to Luke Cage

Danishprince

Season 2 of Daredevil is next on the viewing list not Luke cage

ButtyOh

I'm not complaining, but I don't think I should be able to se this post.

Ferco

Happy Tuesday, Natalie! 😊 Really looking forward to watching this episode later this evening. I really enjoyed this first season. And looking forward to the next tv series you react to, and eventually the Marvel show Luke Cage. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Randee Carreno

Letsss gooo, been loving your reactions to this I literally forgot how epic of a villan killgrave was 😂💯

Kyle

This has been so much fun! I will be looking forward to the day we return to these shows as I'm really excited to see what you think of Luke Cage :D
