“Fuck you pumba!” 😂

Modders

HA! I never thought I'd hear you say... "Well if incest was on the table..."

Michael Adair

I feel like a lot of the hammy/cheesey elements aren't really present in T2. It's considered one of the best action movies of all time for good reason. Most people think the effects and storytelling are fresh enough that it have released yesterday and you wouldn't know any different.

THE LORE!!!

The show kind of forces the viewers to like Daemon because he's with Rhaenyra, despite the fact that he's probably worse than anyone on the Green side.

Aj

Hate to break it to you Nat, but Aegon and Rhaeynera marrying would NOT even be the first instance of incest in THIS SHOW 😅😅😅

Daniel McGuinness

She would be wise to, it would be a shame for someone to take a bite out of this series for her

devin flynn

the jump doesn’t spoil anything we all knew about it beforehand. It's better for her to be aware of it since it's such a huge jump.

Dani

I'm guessing that like most people she'll have a love/hate relationship with him throughout the season.

Richard Maurer

I love how Nat kinda hated Daemon in the first 2 episodes.. but now it appears that she loves him lol.

Shintaro

Im glad im not the only one confused as to why there is no post today. Probably the glitch as everyone has said but regardless will watch when it drops

FateMalone

Like everything else, the no spoilers rule can be taken too far. This is a good example of that. Natalie spent time trying to wrap her head around the time jump that would have been better spent concentrating on the show. Knowing that the time jumps occur in no way spoils the actual content.

Richard Maurer

same, is that an american thing only?

Len

Yet another day of Patreons system being dumb and not uploading the video

Miramir

Could be another glitch by Patreon. It happened a couple of weeks back. Nat had set the video to drop at the correct time, but it didn't release it.

Darryl Low

Colour me disappointed

Chris H

Fair enough, and we all likely notice by now that the vid didn't drop at 9PST today

Essero Eson

But is it HOTD every single day, M-F? She also won’t finish the show this week unless doubling up so she could just watch 2-3 this week but no other shows, so a schedule would still be helpful.

Christopher

Is today a no post day?

Rey

No episode today?

Ren

Pretty sure it's all House of the Dragon this week. She's trying to finish the season before it gets spoiled for her.

Essero Eson

If you think its without reason then i dunno what to say to you. The reason is quite clear.

jamie jones

Nothing confusing about it, it just comes out of nowhere without any reason. It's a cheap trick to create tension in a show that otherwise don't know how to progress the story naturally :)

Danishprince

Is it possible to get a schedule for this week?

Pat_Bez

Love the reactions, Natalie!

Pat_Bez

I don't get recaps

Megatto

It isn’t a spoiler. HBO themselves revealed this before the show even started

Dante

don't spoil things in the comments

Martin

I like how Natalie refers to a seahorse as a "Horse Mermaid"

Martin

It will pay off so much too once we get into the meat of the civil war. They went big and took some risks and I’m so glad they did.

Timminson

It’s definitely not normal. But this season is basically a prologue. And now the following insanity in the next seasons will mean soooooo much more cause of what they were able to fit in to this season.

Timminson

I think most of it stems from the ppl who had no idea they were coming. Most ppl knew it was coming cause of books and/or the marketing was very clear there would be time jumps. So most of us were expecting it and they did it so well. But if you had no clue and were expecting a normal season i can see how it could be rough at first

Timminson

He’s such a fantastic character.

Timminson

If you had no idea there would be time skips I’m sure it’s quite jarring. But having known and expecting them it just made it a more interesting and unique story adaption. Not very many shows like this that pull this level of quality off. Also this all basically a prologue. The following seasons are gonna be 🔥 🩸

Timminson

You started me on it and I just finished the season XD Looking forward to re-watching it with you! Glad you're going to be doing a lot of hotd this week :D

Yani Dodge

Daemon is crazy but a fun time, itll be fun watching your reactions to everything thats gonna go down.

Rey

there are going to be a couple more time skips just to let you know !!

Ace

Knights can certainly marry. However, in Westeros, it is believed that love and duty cannot mix, so there are two orders that forbid their members to marry so that they should keep true to their oaths. The first, as you saw in the original series is The Night's Watch. The other is the King's Guard. Generally, since second and third sons don't stand to inherit their father's wealth, they are often attracted to these orders. Otherwise, you have seen plenty of married Knights such as Tywin Lannister, Robert Baratheon, Jorah Mormont (divorved), and, of course, our current King Viserys.

Alan Kobb

We probably should've warned her about the time jumps, huh. 🤣🤣

Kate Herzig

The time jumps are so simple and easy to understand. I really don’t get the few who find it confusing.

jamie jones

They're even more sudden in the book. This season is just the prologue to the overall story this show is telling. Believe it or not, the writers actually added a lot to this period of time. There is even less detail in the books. There won't be any more time jumps after season 1

Dante

Unfortunately, this story could not have been told without the time jumps. It just simply isn't possible. Believe it or not there is actually less detail and characterization about this period in the books. The writers did a lot to flesh it out more. If it's any consolation for you there won't be any more time jumps after season 1. Season 1 is very much the prologue to the story this show is telling. The rest of the seasons will be much more of a standard TV format.

Dante

No worries but like I said I do appreciate you were trying to inform the reasoning for the time jumps cause I haven't read the books.

Emilie

Ah I see. Hard to tell who is responding to whom on here and I didn't see that comment. Hope you give the show another rewatch and like it as much as I did. They really did a masterful job with this show. From adapting the source material and being faithful while also adding to it that makes sense.

Joel Mason

My comment was not towards you Joel. I can appreciate what you were explaining. It was directed at Jack's now deleted comment where he insinuates people are dumb if they don't like the time jumps.

Emilie

also i like to think of it more like daemon still needed the "threat" of viserys supporting him to spur him into doing this because otherwise he wouldve done this 3 years ago so really viserys did help him in a way

ISeeTrees ofGreen

No one attacked you. The fact that you are getting so upset by people explaining to you why they were necessary says more about you than it does anyone else.

Joel Mason

This is such an ignorant comment. In fact most shows that force feed their viewers skip around from action to action with little care to show character or relational development. Time skips aren’t inherently bad nor am I saying House of Dragon is trash. The fact that you decided to attack anyone who doesn’t enjoy the same content as you says more about you than it does about anyone else.

Emilie

I don't understand this mentality at all.

Jack Burton

yeah there are gonna be a lot more time jumps so just be ready for that

ISeeTrees ofGreen

They have to do the time jumps. Its how the source material is written. All the time jumps in this show are necessary and done well. The show even gives us more time with the characters that weren't even in the book.

Joel Mason

The time jumps are one major reason why I fell off with this show. While some say they are necessary they felt too sudden and left me feeling super disconnected from and uninvested in all the characters. I just think it’s a valid reason why many just couldn’t get into the show and if that ends up being the case for Nat I hope people don’t harass her over it.

Emilie

there are multiple time jumps i hope that doesnt ruin it for you

FateMalone

Knights can marry, Knights of the Kingsguard cannot. Their vows are modelled after those of the Night's Watch. No lands. No wife. No children. Their loyalty and devotion to the throne is of paramount concern given their proximity to the Throne. "I know we don't show our emotions in this family but can we please hug each other" *Next scene is Daemon beating the crap out of some messenger because he's fired up with 'little brother' energy.

S1lm4r1l

I understand and agree with the showrunners having time jumps, I just wish they weren't so sudden. The start of every episode is like "okay, so how much time has passed? what's been going on? who is that?" But I would much rather have time jumps than the teleporting nonsense that happened in S8 of GoT.

Riolkin

I hope you can get over the time jumps, completely necessary and for the most part well executed.

JayyDTR

I completely agree that sons getting priority over daughters is dumb, but that was pretty normal in medieval Europe. British succession law wasn't changed to remove that priority until 2013(!). When France was a monarchy the law was daughters and their descendants could not inherit the throne ever, even when that meant digging up some backwater cousin fifteen generations removed to be the next king.

Michael Cruse

And yeah if you dont like time jumps you're not going to like the show. There is a HELL of a lot of time jumps

ButtyOh

It's been about 3 years or so. Aegon is celebrating his 2nd birthday, and Alicent is pregnant with baby number 2

ButtyOh

I figured someone would have informed you about the time-jump format. No spoilers but there will be more.

Myles Away

Honestly think it might be better for Nat if she knows about it beforehand. I mean, a lot of fans knew considering the older actors were being used to promote the show before it even started airing and all the promos for episode 6 showed them too. It's not really supposed to be a surprise jump

Dante

hey nat! not sure if you noticed, but it's said in the show that the a bit of time passes every episode

You can actually use an extensionn called BlockTube to pretty much filter out content you dont want to see in youtube. Great for avaoiding spoilers. Not sure about other social media but Im sure there are simillar extensions. Although to be fair, House of The Dragon and Game of Thrones are the kinds of shows that can be spoiled. Its one thing to hear about what happened. Its a different expreince seeing it happen.

Xenic Mark

lol so who's gonna tell her about the jump in episode 6?

Dani

Daemon Targaryen, 100% "Fuck You" fueled.

Essero Eson

After this episode aired there were quite a few people complaining about how Daemon dodged so many arrows. It’s actually more realistic than you might think. Movies and TV have given people an unrealistic view on the effectiveness of archers. IRL those archers would have had an impossible time trying to hit a single person by firing down on them from a great distance while at the same time that person is sprinting horizontally. Not to mention all the cover that was on the battlefield too. I think it makes a lot of sense that they were only able to hit Daemon when he stopped running for more than a few seconds. Archers were used for suppression and firing high volume into large crowds of people, not for lethal precision.

Dante

Happy Halloween Monday, Natalie! 😊 I hope that you had a great weekend. I'm really looking forward to diving into more of "House of the Dragon" this week. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

Randee Carreno

Happy Halloween Nat. Hope you had a great weekend too 😊 Looking forward to more dragons this week. Hope your busy week went well. You're totally right to power through to avoid spoilers Nat. Your Daemon looking kinda hot comment made me laugh. He was a mess ha ha. Thanks for a cool video today Nat 💛
