I dont know why Nat was so happy that Ser Cole was saved after what he just did....also I hate Alicent.

John

Yeah but he created the issue. He manipulated Alicent to be his wife, and have babies. So if he knew Rhaenyra would kill Alicent offspring, why set it up to be that way. I hated how it made him seem wise, when he caused it.

John

To paraphrase the Dude, Otto is not wrong. He's just an asshole.

Rune

He didn't choose to kill her, but choose to risk both of them dying just for a male heir, which sealed her fate.

Aj

You completely misread that scene, it's pretty funny.

Aj

best episode from 1-5. 2nd best episode from 1-10. 8 being the best, 5 being the 2nd best. hope u enjoyed it

Michael Schaaf

Sir Cristin is not honorable. You are confusing honor with pride. He is so proud to have risen from nothing to become a Kings Guard, but he is weak-willed. He fell under the spell of the beautiful princess and was so ashamed that it has driven him mad enough to kill a man for reminding him of his dishonor. AS for Viserys and his first wife, he was not given the choice of the child or the wife. His two options as stated by the maester were either to kill the mother to give the child a chance to live or they both die. I don't think you really have a good idea of how dangerous childbirth was during the middle ages. Even something as common as a breech birth would often kill the mother. In Game of Thrones, Tyrion's mother died giving birth to him, and Danerys's mother died giving birth to her. Meanwhile, in that age, more than 50% of all people died before the age of 5. You may have heard that back then the average lifespan was less than 40 years. This did not mean that 80 year old people were rare, just that the odds of making it past childhood were extremely rare, and a lot of very young people dying would drag down the average, but if you lived to adulthood and survived all the dangers of disease, war and everything else, you could live to the 90s.

Alan Kobb

I choose not to take 'We can save X' as 'we can't save Y'. It does seem clear in hindsight that it meant only the child. But the room was left for people not to get that.

Ed Green

Nat still thinks Viserys chose to kill his wife? Omg I'm crying.😭

Walter Lopez

Heads up 10 year time jump ne t episode new actors

Ace

I guess there is a reason That Rings of Power and its terrible writing always has a side character explaining to the audience everything we're currently watching on the screen. Judging from all this, people aren't good at interpreting either language nor context clues.

Sonny Smith

Nice to see some local filming. The Vale of Arryn was filmed 75 miles away from where I live in Castleton, Derbyshire in the East Midlands in England.

Lee Gannon

When Natalie was commenting on how Daemon's wife seemed cool and all I thought "Yeah, well don't get too attached to her".

Richard Maurer

Also I don't think Daemon caused his wives death. The Horse seemed spooked after Lady Rhea's demeanor changed

devin flynn

If Daemon was Gay, he'd simply fuck men and not give a shit.

devin flynn

Again….β€œTo sacrifice one… or lose them both, there is a chance we can save the child” thats the quote. If you take that as save the wife or child well ok then

jamie jones

Right. He was cut off before he could finish talking about the blood loss. To save one or lose them both (since the show didn't go into detail) to me is an option to save either his wife or the baby. She said this was her last time bearing a child so this was his last chance at a son as he saw. The show left it up to our interpretation so that remains mine. Women can survive c-sections. I don't know the exact practice the citadel uses in this fantasy universe so I can't compare it to anything outside of a c-section which people survive. My sister included. Save one or lose them both. Save the wife or save the child. That's it.

Inhale Burrito

The way she talks about sir Criston Cole... YOU LOVE TO SEE IT (LMAO)

VinΓcius Franco

I'm sorry, can we appreciate how much Rhaenyra's theme slaps in this series?

Boomcity

"To sacrifice one... or to lose them both. There is a chance that we can save the child." Thats the line. Is that not clear to you?

jamie jones

You seriously interpret that as save the mother? Common. How could cutting out the baby save the mom, they very clearly were referring to saving the baby. Be real.

jamie jones

'To save one or to lose them both'. It was never said that he was referring to a specific one. So no, it didn't spell it out. Let's not state things happened when they didn't. A very strong implication is not explicit dialogue no matter how high a percentage of us were able to make the inference.

Ed Green

They said something along the lines of try and save one or lose them both

jamie jones

No they said the risk of the amount of blood loss could lead to her death but it wasn't a certainty. Both could've made it out, neither did.

Inhale Burrito

Well, the choice never could have saved them both. The choice was to leave the birth up to the gods which meant unless a miracle happened they were both going to die OR they could cut the baby out of Aemma to save it. Basically, Aemma was dead either way and the C-section was the best chance to save the child. It is still fucked up that they didn't prepare Aemma or give her any say in the matter, though.

Dante

I really liked Daemon's wife, so sad we only saw her for like 3 minutes as I would have loved to see more of her in the show.

Chris Lane- Venturi 3D

Yes it did.

jamie jones

Lots of people keep saying that, and they're almost certainly right. But the episode never spelt it out.

Ed Green

Natalie is currently under the impression that Visery's wife could survive a baby in her stomach past due. Nat she was going to die during that birth. He made a choice that could've saved them both it just didn't end that way.

Inhale Burrito

Oh come now, that was mercy, she had already broken her back. :) But seriously, while the show does overtly incriminate Daemon, I kind of wish they had gone with the book version as it was far more nebulous about the matter.

Brian Jones

Haha I love how Laena is Leanna here πŸ˜‚ silly Nat! I’m sure she’ll get it eventually

Tessa M

"Maybe he just hates his wife." Yikes. ;)

S1lm4r1l

Viserys definitely ages well

jamie jones

gonna be quite the shock lmao

ISeeTrees ofGreen

I know you try not to read comments in case of spoilers but you'll notice in this show that they stay true to real life in the sense that everyone ages differently. Laena as you mentioned, rhaenyra, alicent. The younger they are the more the difference is in age, opposite for the older people like viserys, otto, daemon.

Trinity Davis

For the last 2 episodes, the show turned into Rhaenyra's romantic adventures and I'm here for it lmao. It was very messy and tense...

Bishey

Gonna be epic

KingsCustard

She has to burn through this because stranger things season 4 is a monster commitment. It's going to take her a while to watch. Especially since 2 of the episodes are basically movies.

Caomhan84

I feel you. But it's only a week or so.

Slaizio

I hate that we started a new show right when we were almost caught up with Stranger Things 😭

KingsCustard

Happy Westeros Wednesday, Natalie! 😊 So glad that you're enjoying this series. Looking forward to this new episode reaction during the day. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! πŸ’›

Randee Carreno

Becareful with the game of thrones rewatch, there are massive spoilers for HotD just casually dropped throughout the show. I got hit with a big one in season 3 episode 4

Rey

Next episodes reaction should be interesting

Dante

Rewatching both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon with Nat at the same time!

Boomcity

Yay. Westeros Wednesdays are back πŸ˜„ Amazing reaction today. You are always so good with your characters Nat, and I'm picking up so much more detail on my 2nd viewing. Thanks Nat. You da best πŸ’›
