"Oh my God, they're sliding down the fridge!" That was seriously funny.

Max

For Kyle Reese it was a long love affair, for Sarah Connor it's more of a Transference one night stand. Kyle saved Sarah's life, multiple times, she had lost basically everything and was possibly about to die... Sarah Connor went through the perfect storm of emotions that the fact that she only knew Kye for a matter of hours (Maybe 2 days MAX) doesn't matter to her. I do agree with you, when I was watching the "moment" and you were hysterially laughing, that is was a little over the top... But Kyle had loved her for a while so... I don't, maybe if you have been fighting a war for so many years and you finally get to meet and be with the person you've loved for a long time the sex would be over the top(?) lol.

Eshin Squirrel-Knight Revan

Just watched this one AGAIN! Had so much fun watching this with you. :D I still love this movie so much. :)

Logan Kerlee

Just watched this and you mentioned The Matrix and I would just like to request that you please watch the rest of The Matrix movies! Including The Animatrix which should be first after the original. I know they’re divisive, but they’re among the most interesting and thoughtful big budget blockbusters ever made. And The Matrix Reloaded has some of the best action sequences ever filmed. You may not love them (tho personally I do, very much) but I promise they won’t bore you.

Razor Bikini

This is like the third time we had the same drink lol

devin flynn

Terminator 2 is So much better than the first, in my opinion

Jonathan Barrick

You are going to love the sequal, it's up there with Mad Max Fury Road and Aliens

JBH

C'mon, this movie is 40 yrs old. Detracting for CGI-ish limitations seems very unfair. The start of a great franchise...

Andrew Minton

It seemed sooo much better when I watched it back in 1984 🤣😅🤣

Baggie Mark

Terminator 2 is arguably the best action movie ever made. It’s fantastic! And the less you know about it going in, the better.

Daryll Mancill

I have to also recommend T2 whole heartedly :)

Clark Cox

you just HAVE to watch Terminator 2, one of the best sci fy movies made. 1 was great when it was new but very dated but 2 still holds up.

Ben Curran

I think Predator is more classic and a must see, but True Lies is overall the better movie. Fuck idk, they’re both amazing lol

mrhalfbit

True Lies and Predator we greatly need. Total Recall and Kindergarten cop are also personal faves of mine.

mrhalfbit

😂😂😂

mrhalfbit

I think the reason ai is so terrifying is reason, or the antithesis of it. Its the same reason why the human psychopath is terrifying, an intellect without a frontal lobe. aka a mind without a soul.

Cripkie

There is no need for a poll.... And no need for discussion. TERMINATOR 2 IS A MUST WATCH.

Brian Jones

put t2 on the poll and watch lol

Brandon Hinton

The entire 80's were chessy. I know, I lived through them.

Richard Maurer

Arnolds story was stupid af in dark fate.

jamie jones

T2 is the iconic film in the series, not T1. It would have been better to skip T1 and all the others rather than skip T2. It's better in just about every way. Edward Furlong is a little corny but that's about the only negative thing I can recall.

Shawn E Mercado

Came here to say that

Barry

Terminator 2 is a MUST WATCH. The others, well... your choice, but T2 is GOD

Roland The Gunslinger

Rocky 2 is NOT a good movie. That's just plain and true. Comparing or just involving that with Terminator 2 feels wrong to me. I'm hoping that she gets to watch Terminator 2 VERY soon, as well.

Logan Kerlee

You definitely have to watch Terminator 2 please make an executive decision and watch it as soon as possible LOL you won't regret it, you don't really do sequels I mean a lot of your patrons are still waiting for Rocky two LOL you watched Rocky one over a year ago and still no rocky two LOL but regardless definitely watch Terminator 2 as soon as possible you will love it!

dieselbeast

Definitely watch "T2", a lot more INTENTIONAL humor. Nat laughed all through the admittedly over the top 80s sex scene (I guess because it was so taboo until then, 80s directors loved giving us soft porn, because they could, idk why else, it was unnecessary lol). It's a much more fun movie, Terminator 2 even pokes a little fun at the first movie, and it's also a damn good action flick. I don't really like action films, unless they have a compelling story, and this one does. 👍

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

This. Definitely should check out the transformers movies.

Xenic Mark

Over the top? At the time of original release... no. But now... yeah. Movies have evolved so much over the years. This one definitely set some standards For It's Time, but Terminator 2 was so much better in so many ways. The rest of the sequels are all just action films cashing in on T2 and some of the story lines really strained at the time travel trope, but the latest one, Terminator Dark Fate, is pretty cool even if it is mostly just a reboot of the first movie.

Joel Palenychka

Nat, if you do end up watching T2, pay attention to a couple things. 1) The Score - The score for the film is not orchestral as you might expect for a big budget action film. It's a synth score, done by the same guy who did the score for the original Terminator, Brad Feidel. I have never heard a film score anywhere close to T2's; it is totally unique and fascinating. Feidel drastically altered the pitch of samples and recordings to generate new sounds, and the score sometimes integrates rhythmically with the action on screen. So just enjoy it, but note how different it sounds from a typical orchestral score, how synth pads take over what string and brass sections would normally be doing, and how there's always weird bumps and clanks going on, it's really cool. 2) The CGI - T2 was the first film to use CG effects extensively. They're easy to spot because they're pretty basic, but they were revolutionary at the time. I think they hold up pretty well. A lot of people point to Jurassic Park as the breakthrough film for CGI, but it didn't come out until two years after T2.

Skizane

I think if I were in that situation that would be exactly what I'd do. Hit 'em with some seductive language to get them in the mood, then bam! Go for the hard sell. "Ladies, please don't let me die without experiencing one last time the gentle touch of a woman, without feeling the exquisite passion that can only come from two souls finding each other and, even if only for a short time, throwing off the weights and anxieties of life and giving themselves over to each other freely to exist as one in beautiful union, plus I've also got this HUGE DONG."

Skizane

Outstanding! *golf clap*

Skizane

If you like The Terminator, then you'll love Terminator 2. T2 had James Cameron coming off of the Aliens movie, and is the movie where both Cameron and Schwarzenegger started really making names for themselves. Whereas Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer are really much more "cult classics" in terms of their popularity, The Terminator movies made Schwarzenegger into a box office action star who could carry a movie. James Cameron proved that the Aliens movie wasn't a fluke, and T2 is where he really became known for the advancement of special effects and great storylines. So you'll definitely want to be watching Terminator 2. Linda Hamilton also benefited from Schwarzenegger getting her into bodybuilding, and her transformation between the two movies is amazing. Talking about a character arc.....

Tim D.

The very first film I remember crying over is Terminator 2. I think it's the superior film, even though I like this one, T2 is so damn good and more emotionally stimulating.

Kate Herzig

I always thought in Lethal Weapon the funny moments are all intentional (Shane Black is great at writing humor), while in Terminator sometimes they are not. The romance is supposed to be serious and dramatic, unfortunately for today's standards (and maybe also for the time) is hilariously bad. The movie aged badly in many regards, but it is iconic. The skeleton at the end is great, Sarah Connor's arc (thanks also to Linda Hamilton's performance) throughout the movie is very believable, and Arnold was very lucky to land this role and didn't disappoint.

Fostena

Terminator 2 is DEFINITELY worth watching, it's a better movie in many ways. One of Arnold's best, and one of the best sequels ever in any franchise. Last I checked there were three different cuts of the movie, so if you do react to it please make sure to mention the runtime. As for the rest of the movies in the franchise? A lot of people don't like T3, and it's nowhere near as good as T2. But I still enjoyed it for the overall theme and message of the movie. The other three(the ones without numbers) though, just skip them. They're absolute garbage.

Patrick Egan

Have to watch T2 at some point. A classic and for decades most action movies took inspiration from. Very different from this film lol

xtc

Have to watch T2... classic

Gomi

Ah, the original Arnie 80s classic! I describe him in it as “unintentionally funny” in a dark humor sort of way. He’s so ruthless and emotionless. Mostly unstoppable; mostleeee. Did you know the actor who played Bishop in Aliens and a police detective in this was supposed to be the Terminator at one point? Also OJ Simpson was considered for the title role😱😱😱 it would have been a weird alternate universe(s). Very wisely, Arnold did not want to be Kyle Reese! Can you imagine how that would have gone down? I Kom frum de feeyucha, I’m heer to reshkuue yuu aaaarrrrrggggg rrrraaaaarrrrggggh! He also wouldn’t be a big muscle guy if humanity was reduced to eating rats and living underground 🤔I love this movie and know every second of it. They explain what’s going on during the action- nice touch. As kids it was some of the first boobs we ever saw. They looked really really big to us (because we never saw bewbs!) get it? The club was called Tech Noir which is also the genre of the movie! It was soooo in the 80s, actual people thought it was a real dance club- and wanted to get in there, haha! Just like Alien, it’s a sci-fi horror movie. And T2 is more action like AlienSSSS. Enjoy! But avoid T3 or anything after because they were just cashgrabs in my opinion!

James Quinn

Hey Logan so happy to see you here 🤜🏻 🤛🏻

Josip Buretić

💯

Josip Buretić

Yes, please watch Terminator 2, it is very good. You will be glad you did. You were wondering how it fits in and I think I will enjoy seeing what they did for that.

Jason Hoppenworth

Yeaaaah I think everyone here can agree that Terminator 2 is a must watch no matter what. Its like watching Alien and then skipping Aliens, it's blasphemous lol. T2 is just amazing.

Noctis

GOTTAA watch t2

alex pratt

A LOT of people agree with me that Terminator 2 is waaaay better than the first one.

Mr. Avatar

Definitely need to watch Terminator 2. I would call it there though. The rest are pretty irrelevant. T3 might be worth your while. Flip a coin on that one. Def Terminator 1 & 2 though.

Alfredo

nothing like the fear of death to appreciate life a little more

Wu Sha Ling

OOh.. now that's a tossup. True Lies vs Predator as an Arnold Movie? ....

Mastervodo

you definitely should watch T2, it's one of the few sequels that's better than the original.

BNJ

I nominate Kiss Kiss Bang Bang as a holiday movie, or movie that takes place at Christmas.

Chris H

@Philip Davetas @Richard Maurer I always like to think that after all the dust settled, she actually went back to the apartment and found him in a bush outside the building and took him with her on her new adventure. He would be her perfect emotional support pet until she popped out John. Then, I dunno, maybe she ate him. I hear they taste like chicken.

Thomas Yanez

You can't gauge Hollywood time travel against any notions of logic or reality. It works the way the movie wants it to work, and in this case, Kyle Reese is John Connor's father. Period.

Thomas Yanez

John Connor's original father is Reese. There was never a timeline where Reese did not travel back in time. When Reese says he's from 'one possible future from Sarah's point of view', he's implying that from his point of view, his future is the only possible future. While there are many things he could have changed by travelling back in time, one thing he could not change was becoming John's father. That was always going to happen, and always did, because Reese didn't know his own future, which means he could not change it, even if he wanted to.

Ed Green

Yes!!!! By all means, PLEASE do “T2:Judgement Day” it is widely regarded as one of the few times that a sequel was clearly better than the original

Valentin torres

I'd only vote for it AFTER Terminator 2: Judgement Day. I'd also REALLY love to watch a reaction for Predator.

Logan Kerlee

I rewatched True Lies a few weeks ago. Good action-comedy. Definitely the most enjoyable out of that bunch. I would vote for it if Nat put up an Arnold Movie poll.

Mastervodo

TRUE LIES is a great, great movie. Probably the last great movie Cameron ever made. So great he refuses to release it on Bluray. I think it only exists on Hulu now.

Philip Davetas

Reese was born after John Connor though. Even if John Connor in the future could handpick his parents, he still had to have an original father. And it couldn't be Reese, because Reese wasn't born yet. So, I'm saying is this movie isn't the original timeline. This has to be the second and beyond timeline.

Philip Davetas

I like to think Pugsley escaped through the opening the Terminator made, found his way to a park, and lived a long, happy life in hospitable southern Cali climate.

Richard Maurer

No one but Reese is John Connor's father. If Reese wasn't sent back in time John wouldn't exist, and if john didn't exist he couldn't send Reese back in time, therefore the fact that either one of these things happened makes the other thing happening a forgone conclusion. Seems like a paradox but it isn't, because time isn't linear, we only perceive it that way.

Richard Maurer

What's also common is when people leave their pets behind. Poor, poor Pugsley. Mother of the future my ass.

Philip Davetas

btw. there are a hand full of other classics with Arnold i can really recommend, like running man, twins, total recall, kindergarten cop, true lies, last action hero

Andreas Sommer

Aspartame is perfectly fine, it is one of the most rigorously tested food ingredients.

Rime Pendragon

It's a casual loop, also called Predestination paradox. Very common time travel mechanic

Danishprince

Funny thing about the time travel aspect to this. If Kyle Reese was John's father then which number time loop is this? Has to be the second or millionth. Because someone was John Connor's dad before Kyle.

Philip Davetas

You can't watch Terminator 1 without also watching Terminator 2...it's a MUST!!

Chris Lane- Venturi 3D

you just can´t watch terminator but not terminator 2. YOU HAVE TO. ;)

Andreas Sommer

I surely wouldn't have included The Godfather 2 on that list.

Logan Kerlee

While I'd be down for a revisit of that show.. I don't know. It didn't end well.

Logan Kerlee

Awesome trivia! Was Cameron's 1st movie, something to do with Piranha?

Alan Felicia

This was like James Cameron second movie

Thomas Richter

Natalie, one of the things that happens in the novelization of this film that they didn't put onscreen was the way that the terminator attempted to verify the identity of each sarah he killed as the correct one was by taking an exacto knife and cutting the leg open to look for a titanium pin. Skynet knew this pin existed somehow, but it didn't know that the reason it was there was from later on in the story, at the factory where Kyle dies, the terminator had temporarily grabbed sarah's ankle and crushed it, necessitating the pin as a part of the surgery to fix the ankle. So he was looking for something that he would NOT have found even if he had killed all three sarahs.

David Bennett

Awesome reaction😁 I defs cannot wait for the second one. T2 is the best example of how a sequel can surpass the first one. A true must watch classic. No need to watch the rest. Fun bit of trivia; Reece was telling her about the photo and how he wondered what she was thinking about. She was thinking about him

Wiremu Marshall

It was funny when Reese tore open the grocery bags, with moth balls, Kayro syrup, and ammonia and Natalie thought he was making dinner - that's a meal you can only experience once. And while the love scene certainly wasn't the best ever put on film, in context it kind of made sense. I mean it wasn't like they could stop running from the Terminator to date for a few months before sleeping together.

Richard Maurer

something about Nat hysterically laughing during "that scene" was amazing haha, i haven't laughed like that in a while, and yes nat, totally agree, super funny now i see it again haha

Tesh

Fun fact - O.J. Simpson was originally supposed to play the Terminator, But Cameron thought he seemed "too nice".

Richard Maurer

T2 is DEFINITELY a must. The budget for the first one was 6.4 mil. The budget for T2 was 100 mil.

Jay Robert

I will always have a warm feeling for stop motion, especially the works of Ray Harryhausen.

Richard Maurer

Too many.

Richard Maurer

Aliens is in no way superior to Alien, Alien is one of the greatest horror movies of all time, and Aliens turned it into just another sci-fi action movie. And Ridley Scott is a better director than James Cameron too.

Richard Maurer

I can't even recall all of the words that I've mispronounced from never having heard them spoken, and aspartame is one of them. I like to tell myself it's a sign of being a literate person, since I came across so many words in text before having heard them verbally (I like to tell myself a lot of things to put a positive spin on embarrassing moments).

james repka

Also, whether or not special cuts are better or worse, they are generally more difficult for some folks to access, so it ruins the watchalong for all but a few.

james repka

T2 is a must. Its so you, you dont even realize it.

juan calderon

Thank you for this. To clarify though it's not *after* common era, we are in the common era so it is just CE.

james repka

People have mentioned the low budget, but it should be noted also that this was only Cameron's second shot at both writing and directing a movie (his first being the classic Piranha II: The Spawning) and it would be 10 years before special effects as we know them today would be available at any price. The sex scene is indeed, pretty hilarious and comes out of nowhere. Cameron's strengths as a filmmaker have never included clever writing (see: Titanic -- great film, deserving of its Oscar but especially cringey dialog). Arnold had been acting for a while and had to Conan the Barbarian movies under his belt but his career was mostly movies that played on his body-builder muscles. He didn't want to do this at first b/c he felt it was the same type of role, had few lines, and he believed it would flop. Instead it all came together for both of them -- it was a mainstream hit and Arnold came out of it as a guy who could headline a mainstream movie. BTW, at the beginning of the movie the gang member with the blue spiked hair was none other than the late Bill Paxton in an early role.

james repka

T2 better action, T1 better sci-fi. This sentence no verb.

Michael G. Munz

I deeply envy everyone who saw T2 without seeing the trailer.

Michael G. Munz

Nothing to do with the film, but 1. typing whilst 'the theme' plays is kinda epic. and 2. brussels pate and English mustard isn't an awesome combo in a sandwich. And well... I'm sure plenty of us are hoping you got the subtle reference to the huge, musclebound, eastern-european-accented, unstoppable machine-like man in Stranger Things S4? And yes, watch T2! The Terminator is great and a classic, and was a defining moment in cinema, but T2 is much, much better.

Misty Crom

OMG, totally forgot about Runaway. Haven't seen that in forever... (I was an old-school KISS fan back in the day, and was just so psyched to see Gene Simmons in the film.)

William R Coughlan

T2 is one of my top three favorite movies

Melody P

Definitely, definitely, definitely need to watch Terminator 2, it’s one of the greatest action movies ever made!

Patrick Mitchell

Yes, puh-leeze watch T-2!

KeithJ

T-2 is a must -

JarHead0351

1000% you should watch T2

Travis Starnes

Terminator 2 should be watched without looking anything up. Also, if you thought you were gonna die any given moment wouldn't you wanna get down? Dont hate on Sarah

Eric Wallace

Some of the weakness of this film comes from the fact that the budget was only 6.4 million. The budget for T2 is 100 million.

Matthew Shaver

I expect that this will track well for you on YouTube. One of your best reactions. T2 asap! knowing what we know, and hope to share in your reaction experiencing T2 for the first time makes me shiver with anticip.....

Taff Lewis

I always find stopmotion unsettling, in a good way.

Ben Wheeler

"He's so determined!" - Nat You could say he's...deTerminated?

Boomcity

I saw this in the theaters as a teenager when it first came out. We had no reference for the plot and it was totally new. It was something that had to be seen in on the big screen. Also in the 80's cops didn't wear bulletproof vests. I still sort of prefer the practical effects in this to the really bad CGI stuff like in Black Widow. T2 is really good and worth watching.

DMON

The Terminator was a good movie made on a shoestring budget. It played so many times on cable that it achieved nearly a cult status. But then Terminator 2 came along. Terminator 2, one of the best sequels ever, made the original The Terminator movie required viewing.

Paul Patine

This movie is (IMO) only as famous and well seen as it is because people feel obligated to watch it before watching T2. T2 is definitely a better movie in every aspect from script to cinematography to acting, and is a must watch; it will often come up in conversations about the best sequel movies ever made.

Erik Stevenson

Id be down for t2 but none of the others

Rey

The true trilogy is The Terminator, T2, and then Dark Fate. You don't need to watch the others (Rise of the Machines, Salvation, and Genisys) they can be watched for entertainment but they just muddy the story.

J B

T2 next please. you won't regrets it.

Walter Lopez

How many of them do you think there is?? I count enough to make 2 trilogy and more.

Daniel Vezina

It's too bad he crapped all over the story with whatever the name of the most recent movie is, but less said about that, the better. My Terminator canon stops with T2.

REDR58

AFTER Terminator 2, I'm with you.

Logan Kerlee

Eh.. I don't really care for that version. I say watch the theatrical cut and call it good. Many of the added scenes are unnecessary and don't feel right when they're added.

Logan Kerlee

That is *the* first time I've ever seen a contemporary reactor laugh so uproariously at this movie, but each to his or her own, I guess.

REDR58

lmao, if she'd of watched Terminator 2, before this I'd of been LIVID!! Holy hell, I'd of been upset. xD Don't get me wrong, I love T2! This one, the original Terminator will always be the superior movie in my eyes. It's what I watched first and now whenever I introduce the movies to someone else I have them watch this one first as well. Doesn't matter who they are - girlfriend, a kid, anybody. Whoever's not seen this before the sequel is missing out big time, I feel.

Logan Kerlee

That love scene was just as bad in the 80s

PickettsChargingPort

As regard to some of the visual effects, I think the jarring stop motion animation of the Terminator in the last part of the movie really works well, showing how damaged it's become.

REDR58

I think a lot of synth music from the time generally sounds "cheesy" but it doesn't bother me.

REDR58

I guess I'll join the T2 hype train. For context, I've seen original Terminator maybe 1.5 times not counting this reaction and random bits on TV here and there, T2 I've seen probably 50+, more if you count the special editions.

Steve J

I actually don't mind T3. But I'd stop with T2.

REDR58

100% with you on this. I'll always rank the original over Terminator 2, but I LOVED that movie so much. Both movies are very core to me. They're my childhood movies. lol, many kids watched Indiana Jones.. instead of that, I was watching The Terminator!

Logan Kerlee

<3 hahahaha, I love how you put that. xD

Logan Kerlee

BIGGEST YUP ON THIS!! If you don't decide to watch Terminator 2 next week I'll be a little sad. :P

Logan Kerlee

not often, but she has on occasion if she's on the fence about watching it (i.e. just recently House of the Dragon). I think she even has a couple of trailer reaction videos on the YT page. The T2 trailer is from the time of "spoil the plot because we think audiences are dumb and won't want to see the movie if they don't know all the twists beforehand" ...

Steve J

YUP! Glad that someone mentioned this. :)

Logan Kerlee

It demolishes a ton of modern cinema movies! It's so well done!

Logan Kerlee

Glad that you're not flat saying that it's better. It has much better effects and action scenes but I also prefer the original.

Logan Kerlee

100% my thoughts, as well. I also prefer the first for those same reasons. As a boy, when I first watched the movies I preferred the second. Probably because I was a youngster and just scared to actually enjoy the original. I still watched the original though! lmao, I had both movies memorized from like ages 10 and on.

Logan Kerlee

I wasn't much for Dark Fate either but like I said in my book of a comment if she chooses to watch them she might be able to find some of them fun.

Logan Kerlee

I am so stoked that you watched this Natalie!! hahaha, this one's my CHILDHOOD FAVORITE! I watched this as a youngster! I had to be like four or maybe even younger when I first watched this movie. It's been my top favorite action film ever since! NOTHING HAS TOPPED THIS. Holy fuck, I'm blowing this movie way up but I don't care. xD Whenever I watch a reaction to this I show this level of enthusiasm. :P That's the Griffith Observatory? I had no idea. lmao!! I loved your face after the dude was lifted up in the air! You were in awe! This is somebody else and he's breathing loudly. Something that slipped by you, I guess. It was clear that it was a painful experience. They didn't know. They saw him and figured he was a suspicious individual. After the cop ran forward the bum yelled "Son of a bitch, took my pants!" That was why the cops were after him initially. Them losing him like they did.. welp.. I don't know. xD Shitty cops? lmao, this entire movie is very 80's, Nat. It's 80's but also not afraid of throwing in future bits as well. LMAO, that kid is the worst! lol, no, it wasn't 100 years. Something like 40, I think? Your facial reactions are next level great Nat! hahaha, I've got to say that this is lining up to be my top favorite reaction of yours. Generally all phonebooths had a phonebook inside of them. I haven't had to use a phonebooth for a number of years but yup, I've used them before and used the phonebook to find a number. lol, yup. That's all you have to do to start a car. Obviously it's a bit different now but it's that easy - yeah. Yup, pretty much. That was to show what it's like where he's from. lmao, I love that phone bit! Makes me laugh each time I see it. hahaha Sarah's a lizard mom! <3 Ginger though.. not so much. xD lol, Matt's super friendly alright! hahaha The phonebook was shown early on! You could see how many Sarah Connors there were. The age before cell phones. It's great that you realized how people were more comfortable with being stared at back then. Many of the reactions that I've seen didn't realize that, so good on you! lol - yup! Ginger's getting knocked off and in brutal fashion. lol, and the message that Sarah left! </3 lol, leaving the address and phone number of the bar. The Terminator is on mission. That's all he's there for. Nothing else matters. He's there to kill Sarah Connor. He isn't killing random people. He's killing those that are in a path toward Sarah. He'll shoot everything in it's path to her. LMAO, yup! That's where that line originated! I love that you're realizing that and making that known. I'm glad that you're taking this in from a realistic point of view. Not freaking out and assuming that Sarah would know any of this. I suppose it helps that this is also your first time watching this. Fourty years from then would be now, yeah or here in a couple years. Have to remember that car alarms were far less common in the 80's. I've never been to LA, so I've got no idea how the traffic is in reality. I grew up in the PNW so the heaviest traffic I knew/know is something in the Seattle area. I LOVE THIS SCENE! It's so damn brutal and cool watching him repair himself. As a kid I was legit FREAKED when I saw this bit. It was so damn cool then though. Sure, yeah it looked fake as hell. Doesn't matter though! lmao, in the 80's/early 90's when I watched this it was FREAKY and stupid cool. lmao, I love that you questioned that! Makes me so happy. It also makes me very happy that you're recognizing the top famous lines throughout. Surprised that you didn't hear the cop mention the terrorists. xD That bit makes me smile, now. Damn right he's good! John wouldn't send any scrub to protect and save his mom! The soundtrack is so fitting for this movie, I feel! They did an incredible job placing the music and tracks in this movie. It melds in with the scenes and matches the action onscreen so well. I appreciate how you didn't absolutely speak negatively about the future scenes. They were clunky and everything was obviously dated as hell (it is an 80's movie afterall) but you still didn't trash on it. Big thanks on that! lol, that sort of thing always gets under my skin when a reactor watches this and says all that. lmao, that dog bit! hahahaha John gave the picture to him. lol, Reese just got finished explaining how John told him about Sarah before that scene! Come on Nat.. hahaha lol! He said plastique! You've got to have heard that before in one of the action movies that you've watched on here if not in another movies that you've seen elsewhere in life. If not.. you'll see soon enough. lol, no I didn't hear the doggo. Kinda wish that I did though! hahaha YUP! That's John's dad! Gonna go ahead and make John right now. hahahaha, wow! Your reaction here is definitely not the reaction that I ever had watching that scene. Because of the movement and noise, yeah. These is a sequel, yeah. One that I hope beyond hope that you'll be reacting to soon. Holy crap, I want you to see that movie! There's no way that she can stand! You watched her pull that metal bit out of her leg for crying out loud! hahaha That line "You're terminated, fucker!" was absolutely necessary. I hope beyond hope that you DO NOT react to Terminator 3. That movie is just TERRIBLE. I will be voting each and every time I see Terminator 2: Judgement Day on a poll. lmao, I'm sure that other people find this movie funny like you do. Not me though. I grew up with this movie and watched these movies all throughout my early years. The love scene didn't feel over the top to me at all. It was just right for me. Holy crap, this is a book of a comment for this reaction! Bwahahaha, the way you closed this was great. Over the top, sure, but darn funny. :D

Logan Kerlee

Yes Pleassseeee do Terminator 2!!! lol

Louie

Not sure but wanted to throw it out there as a clear warning

Myles Away

I think that's a no-brainer, Natalie. I don't say this lightly. Terminator 2 is THE BEST sequel in the history of sequels. A handful will differ, but even they would put it in their top-3. Her is my list of the top sequels. Mine, yea, mine. yes, mine. 1 - Terminator 2 2 - Empire Strikes Back 3 - Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan 4 - Godfather 2 5 - The Dark Knight OK...Everyone is invited to tear my list to shreds...

Alan Kobb

Hah, nice Ferris Beullerian moment there at the end! xD Such a ham! lol \m/(-_-)\m/

SmokeAndACoffee

In the same way that Aliens was different from Alien, Terminator 2: Judgement Day is different from Terminator. I believe you'll enjoy it as it has more of the elements you like and if you don't cry at least once, you are definitely a robot that replaced our Nat.

Essero Eson

I will join in with the everybody else saying: Watch T2! It is a far superior movie in every way. If you wanted to watch any content after that, I'd skip the rest of the movies and check out the deeply underrated Sarah Conner Chronicles TV show.

TwistedMagoo

A.D. stands for Anno Domini, or Year of the Lord. We now say CE, I believe.

PickettsChargingPort

Does she normally watch trailers before movies? If so, Thats stupid

jamie jones

I don't like anything about T3, T4 or T5 except for the casting of CD in T3. But T2 is absolutely a requirement.

Ed Green

Terminator 2 is completely essential to understand James Cameron's full intent with the story he was telling (and as amazing as this movie is, I think T2 is better). After that it's not by him until Dark Fate, which is considerably less iconic. The first 2 movies have such incredible emotional depth, just like how his Titanic is a love story set against a disaster, this is a love story set against an apocalyptic sci-fi background. 'In the few hours that I've had to watch these 2 movies, I've learned a lifetime's worth about what makes movies great.'

Ed Green

You HAVE to watch T2, you can't not now. I hope you feel inclined to watch Dark Fate after that because I personally really like it as a follow up, but I know most people disagree with me on that :(

Darchangel

T2 is widely considered to be one of the best movies ever made. T3 got a lot of hate originally because it was instantly compared to T2 & didn't deliver, but it's actually decent and does a good job of wrapping up the story into a nice trilogy. T4/salvation was good, it's not quite T4, but it does continue that story in that universe. Genesis & Dark Fate were both failed reboots, but the others are worth the watch. As silly as t3 can be at times, it had some great ideas and I personally loved the ending.

Mike

I AM LEGIT PUMPED THAT YOU REACTED THIS!! Holy shit! hahahaha, I was glancing at my phone and saw this notification and sped my way to my desk to watch along with you! hahahaha, I'm STOKED that you decided to watch this!

Logan Kerlee

I grew up with this movie (saw it in the theater when I was 16) and I think it's totally fair for you to call out some of the hokier parts. The "romance" between Sarah and Kyle was shotgunned in there, but we teenaged boys were the target audience and the movies of the time pretty much assumed that we would have gone "Ew! Icky! Girl stuff!" if they'd fleshed it out more. I think Hollywood was mistaken, but that's where their heads were at. The prosthetic face when Arnold removed his eyeball early on looked pretty fake even in 1984, but we were used to seeing "best that can be done on a limited budget" and we just rolled with it. Same goes for the stop-motion scenes near the end. Obviously not real, but that was the state-of-the art. Despite it's limitations, though, this movie rocked our world. We'd never seen anything like it and we were blown away. And yes, there were payphones everywhere, even in bars, and they all had phone books with everyone's name and number and address. It was a different era. Definitely you should watch T2. Definitely definitely. Non-negotiable. Everything that came after is unfortunately "your mileage may vary" territory. I personally thought Dark Fate (2019) was enjoyable, but not everyone does. *stays golden*

Michael Cruse

Do not watch the trailer for Terminator 2. It has a lot of spoilers.

Myles Away

I think it is already on your list, but "Westworld" could be an interesting choice. you might watch the original movie, and then the new HBO series. Or just the series obviously it is up to you. The original movie was directed by Michael Crichton, which is kinda interesting, he also directed a movie that is supposed to be pretty bad if you are looking for more so bad they are funny or good movies, its called "runaways". That being said the new HBO show has everything, from syfy to tech to western and a bunch of other stuff so It might be the perfect ven diagram for you to react too. Thanks for sharing!

Baron

I love this movie but the execution of that scene is clunky unfortunately and it immediately goes into very cheesy period "love music". I don't think its quite that laugh out loud funny but I do wish it had been handled better as its such a crucial emotional moment.

Myles Away

Absolutely watch T2. It’s one those movies where the sequel is better than the first. It hold up pretty well for a early 90s film.

NFXx

Yes. T2 is a classic. I even like RISE OF THE MACHINES. DARK FATE is a whole other beast altogether, but I dig that too.

Philip Davetas

You can watch just the first Matrix, but similar to Back to the Future, the second movie is almost integral!

Garrett

Absolutely watch T2! Must see.

Chris (darkwater)

Hey Nat! Did you recognize a lot of the actors from Alien in this movie? Lance Henricksen (Sidekick Detective/Bishop) Michael Biehn (Reece/Lt. Hicks) Bill Paxton (Blue Spike Haired punk/Pvt. Hudson) Cameron directed both.

Mastervodo

Terminator 2 is SO much better

John Piazza

Regarding Aspartam and diet drinks you would actually need to drink about 70 cans every day just to hit the value where it MIGHT start to be an issue so if you enjoy your diet drinks, keep drinking them. There's nothing dangerous about them :)

Danishprince

T2 definitely worth watching. You will see the difference between a low budget film (I think under 10 million dollars) and a 100 million dollar production...and IMO still holds up better than alot of green screen films.

Stephen Lewis

Also, in regards to the poll this was from, Interstellar is a really good movie, but am I the only one that kinda thought it was basically a "not quite as well done 2001: A Space Oddyssey"? *chuckles. I felt it didn't quite live up to the hype I'd heard about it, but it still was a very good movie with amazing performances, musical score, and cinematography.

SmokeAndACoffee

I like Salvation, i think it's one of the most underrated movies ever. But Dark Fate was the blandest shit. I can't even remember much about it.

Opti_Frog

Omg, The Tylerminator 😆 Yeah, you should watch T2. I prefer the first one, i like the horror vibe more than the mainstream vibe, but T2 is just so beloved. The good in T2 absolutely outweighs the bad.

Opti_Frog

Terminator 2 is DEFINITELY worth watching. One of the few instances where a sequel is at least equal to, if not even better than, the original.

SmokeAndACoffee

Terminator 2 is required viewing after Terminator. Then for academic purposes, you should watch Ex-Machina, as there are shared themes but they are so different.

Myles Away

Welcome to the "I'll be back" club, Nat. Yeah, most 1980's scifi-action movies involve having sex to fight back against a time-traveling robot SOMEWHERE in the plot. :D And yes, Terminator 2 is a must-see, bucket list film. In my opinion it's the best action movie ever made. PS James Cameron got the idea for the terminator from having a nightmare about a metal skeleton rising out of flames. He wrote the movie backwards from there.

Keith Jacobsen

Natalie , you should 100 % watch Terminator 2. Even after more then 30 years Terminator 2 , is still a masterpice, one of the best action movies ever made :)

Peter Heine

I'm sorry you were too busy making fun of other peoples hard work to enjoy the movie that was happening while you were laughing.

Dioskur

T2 for sure! It is in my top 3 favorites of all time. It still holds up so well thanks to the practical effects and minimal CGI.

KingsCustard

Yes you have to watch Terminator 2: Judgement Day!! It’s a really good sequel. Arguably better than the first.

Dru

I think it's important to remember the context of every film in its own time. Filmmaking, of all the arts, is usually the most collaborative and time-consuming, at this level requiring at least months of work from hundreds of people, and no one says: "Let's all work really hard to make something that will look bad to people in the future." James Cameron was at the vanguard of special effects, and this film was a huge leap forward at the time. And if we think at least some movies made today won't in their own way bewilder young people 20 years from now, we're wrong. T2 is the better film of the first two, but not simply because the effects are better. The writing, pacing, score, production design, performances, suspense, etc., are all improvements. And T3 is actually decent, but it really should've just ended with T2.

Andy Jordan

Since you asked: A.D. in years stands for Anno Domini (Year of our Lord) and means the number of years since Jesus' alleged birth (though historians now think we have the year wrong). Nowadays we don't use A.D. anymore, we use A.C.E. (After Common Era). As opposed to B.C.E. (Before Common Era). Which used to be B.C. or Before Christ.

Jenny Chalek

Yes, you Must watch T2! And I disagree completely with other commenters saying stop there. I actually think you would Really enjoy Terminator: Dark Fate. It isn't on the level of the first two films which are classics but its a very enjoyable, well made direct sequel to T2 that explores some interesting ideas. It takes some chances that really made fans angry but I found it refreshing. It is easily the best of the post T2 sequels and really only has the sin of not transporting the fanbase back to they way they felt watching 1 and 2 by being a mildly iterative photocopy of the two prior beloved films.

Dan Careaga

I never considered the scene in the motel over the top - I see it less about them being "in love" immediately (although the line at the end of the movie kind of goes against this) and more about Sarah feeling so overwhelmed and sorry for what Reese has gone through, and his love for her. The style is definitely of its time, and if you can suspend your disbelief to stretch to time travelling robots, I don't see it as a stretch to believe their night together. Plus it's needed to make the time travel paradox work :)

Chris Cooper

Definitely on board to rewatch Terminator 2 with you. I'd personally recommend the extended cut if you can get it, but even the theatrical version is a masterful sequel and a true classic in the sc-fi/action genre.

William R Coughlan

One watches Terminator so that one can watch Terminator 2: Judgement Day. The sequel is a masterpiece in my opinion, T2 is a must watch.

Seth Wylie

Absolutely Terminator 2 after. Then stop. There aren't anymore terminator movies after 2....

Tyler Hollifield

YES YES YES TERMINATOR 2! I'm going to go out on a limb here and say there will be zero comments along the lines of, "Nah, Terminator 2 isn't worth it. Don't watch."

Mastervodo

Terminator 2 is literally one of the best movies ever made

Godzilla Jones

You GOTTA SEE TERMINATOR 2!

David Sumner

T2 is considered one of (if not THE) the greatest action movies of the 90s and has enduring appeal. It was a cultural touchstone.

Adam Drayer

From now on my artificial sweetener of choice will be pronounced Ass-part-of-me

Daniel Ketchum

Terminator 2 is an absolute must! Hope you watch that one soon!

Warren Van Wyck

In your intro you said you'll watch more Sci Fi cuz we like it, the best reactions are for those films you enjoy also 😉

Baggie Mark

Terminator 2 is like the perfect sequal absolutely watch it.

LightsCameraJake

Fuck YEA! to Terminator 2 forget, the other sequels not so much.

fanofactionflicks

You have to watch T2! No need to bother with the others

kikoyito

Ultimate Cut *

NawDood

Transformers Trilogy next would be awesome, the films are fun.

Miramir

YES!!! please watch T2. The others can be skipped, although I do enjoy Terminator Salvation, It's got a great cast, Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Bryce Dallas Howard, Helena Bonham Carter.

HeyItsSuper

T2 is to Terminator what Aliens is to Alien. It's one of the few sequels to genuinely surpass the original; though it's more action than horror. The extended director's cut is recommended.

Sean

It's VERY worth noting, that if T2 is watched (it better be) it should be the Ultimate Cut (2 hrs 32 mins) .

NawDood

"Is the car going to drive like that, with the wires twisted like that?" That's hotwiring a car. I'm sure you've heard of it.

Thomas Yanez

Fuck t3. T2 wraps it up perfectly

jamie jones

Feels like The Terminator only won the pole for the inevitable viewing of T2 😂

Bryan Bryan

Terminator 2 is a rare sequel which is superior to the original, it is a must watch

jamie jones

Watch T2, but “terminate” watching any other sequels

Ben Wheeler

The first movie is much more low budget and is essentially a slasher in scifi clothes. T2 was the first movie with a $100 million budget. It's less scrappy, more polished, but definitely feels less dated. I love 'em both though.

Ken

Definitely T2, but don't feel like you have to watch anymore after that. They start sucking after T2.

Joshua s. Jackson

T2 is a must watch after watching the original. I still rank the original over it, but acknowledge T2 is the objectively superior movie.

kenneth radd

T2 is a must after this movie

Kyle Turning Robe

Yes you should absolutely see Terminator 2, it's actually way better than T1.

K.N.

Happy Feature Friday, Natalie! 😊 I love this movie! Definitely one of my top favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. I keep forgetting that Bill Paxton(RIP always)is one of the punk rockers that's in the beginning of the movie. And T2 is a definite must watch as soon as you can! Have a great day & weekend! 😊 Stay Golden! 💛

Randee Carreno

You have to watch Terminator II

Josip Buretić

T2 absolutely!

Chris

Yes to #2

Brian E

Today started with brutal nerd news, this is a welcome distraction.

djKENTO

T2 is better

Mikita Kukavenka

Definitely watch T2. Still considered one of the best sequels ever made. It’s also far better than its predecessor. In my humble opinion.

Zack Wallace

I had a similar pronunciation issue with the word "ascertain", having read it many times but never having heard it out loud. Then after giving a presentation in front of a class, the teacher called me over after to whisper, "Just so you know, the word is "ascertain" not "uh certain".

Thomas Yanez

T2 is a must.

Brian H

Yes, T2 is the better of the two. An absolute must watch.

bostonate

If we’re doing sci-fi, maybe give Predator a shot (technically it’s it an action sci-fi though)

Horei Paez

Definitely yes on T2!

Rich

You absolutely must watch T2. It is one of the best sequels ever made. Thankfully, no Terminator films were ever made after that. Yep, T2 was the very last one. No more. It ended there.

Andy Jordan

T2 is definitely a must

Dante

To avoid having it interfere with any future reactions, for the sake of your fans, you should just shave your head.

Thomas Yanez

T2 is one of the best sequels to ever be produced and is far superior to the original!

Danishprince

I'm here to argue with you 🤣 But T2 iiiiis fantastic

Jason Dolan

Watch TERNINATOR 2 quickly so you get the fullest effect. It would be amazing to have next Friday. Then like ALIEN and DIE HARD, you can pause after the second one until you run out of good movies before you revisit the franchise.

Jason Dolan

T2 and T3 to wrap up the trilogy.

Navjot Singh

Would love for you to continue with this series. In my opinion, Terminator 2 is better than the first, but the tone definitely shifts and becomes more of an action-thriller than sci-fi/horror. And Linda Hamilton/Sarah Connor is an incredible heroine.

Regi Todd

Do not miss T2

hurryupmode

Terminator 2 is a MUST

mrhalfbit

Terminator 2 still holds up as one of the best action movies ever

Daniel Molina

T2? Affirmative.

Joe Blankenship

T2 is arguably the better movie!

Rebecca Solomon

Definitely and don't watch the trailer

Michael MacDonagh

HAVE to do T2. The rest are usually considered skippable, though James Cameron came back for Dark Fate, making it the most "canon" sequel. (Though I'm in the minority that liked it and Salvation.)

Drew

Definitely check out T2. It’s far superior.

Steven

Everyone say it terminator 2 is a must everyone spam it lol

Joseph salazar

This. Definitely watch T2.

James Leighton

Happy Feature Friday. I'm so excited to watch this movie with you today Nat 😊 This was certainly a fun reaction. I was hoping you would say I'll be back at the end of the video and you didn't disappoint 😄 I love watching something for the first time with you, as you always add so much to it for me, but it's also so fun to watch something like this movie, something I know inside out to see what you make of it. For someone who grew up in, and saw all the big 80s movies in the cinema, this was the type of movie we were used to seeing. Big explosions, throwaway dialogue, loud scores. I've never laughed at them though, but I can understand why today's audiences find them funny. Effects movies pre-cgi had to get creative, so nowadays they seem to be considered old fashioned. I get that, but so much more work went into the effects back then than someone just pushing buttons on a keyboard, so I guess that's why I appreciate physical effects more. The love scene was just typical of an 80s movie. So many movies just had to slot those scenes in. I loved your "slow burn" gag. Your Dad jokes are getting better Nat 😂 After this one, I would definitely love to see your reaction to T2 Nat, and see how you compare the 2 movies. The action and visuals were ground-breaking for the time. Thanks for a really great video today Nat, and as always, thanks for all your amazing work this week. Have a brilliant weekend 💛

Darryl Low

Terminator 2 is an absolute must
