Arturo Leon

Don't you just love the fact that Robert Englund ( Freddy Kruger) played a man tormented by nightmares?

Jay Robert

And the actor who plays Robin, Maya Hawke, has famous actor parents - Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman.

Richard Maurer

Glad to hear Kate Bush owns the rights to her music - she deserves every penny.

Richard Maurer

She's watched season 1 and has Youtube videos for it. Also the two specials before season 2 but I think they are only on Patreon www.patreon.com/nataliegold/posts?filters[tag]=Euphoria

Rich House

Hey Nat!! You should def watch Euphoria if you haven’t seen it beforeee

Marely Gomez

Big time enjoyed this reaction! I swear, Stranger Things is such a great show. I'm very happy that it's around.

Logan Kerlee

Oh boohoo y’all are 8-1. I’m a Saints fan who y’all are actively rooting for to lose cause y’all have our 1st rd pick. Lol jk Ref screwed yall so y’all have a right to be mad

Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen #1

Oh no you’re an Eagles fan?! Unsubscribed Lol jk this episode is amazing. Looking forward to your reaction of the rest of the season

Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen #1

Wow Robin should be an actor! ummm Nat I have some interesting news you might not be aware of

Nathaniel Castle

and that NOSY guard, is DOING HIS JOB. He is a guard in charge of the safety and detention of those prisoners, such loyalty is not be scoffed! Even for someone who could be considered and enemy

devin flynn

technically robin IS an actor

devin flynn

...And the actor who played both Victor & Freddy Krueger is Robert Englund

Alan Felicia

Bruh...

Neo Geo

My mistake guys, sry x)

MrPHead

Alaska was absolutely 100% not Russian territory in the 1980's it wasn't even Russian territory in the 1880's...

mrhalfbit

Alaska became a state in 1959. It wasn't part of Russia in the 80's.

Jack Burton

Hey Nat, some fun facts about this episode: 1. The actor that play Victor Creel is the actor that played Freddy Krueger 2. Alaska in that time was Russian territory Those little details is that make this season very well made! ^^

MrPHead

Omg! I'm so sorry my guy! The autumn wind might be a raider but your crew got housed by a team with a head coach they hired off the street! Can't complain tho, I'm a Lions fan! Lol someday we will be good again! Both of us!

Yasin

Hey Nat, I loved the reaction! Also, I noticed you were confused about why Mike threw El's letter in the trash, and it was because it was the first letter where she wrote "From El," to take a jab at how Mike kept writing "From Mike" - but yeah! Looking forward to the next ep :)

Bee

NOW I see why that song got popular again! What a nail-biting end!

Mastervodo

It's this episode that really solidifies Vecna as being representative of severe depression and suicidal tendencies to me. All of his victims suffer some sort of depression or guilt that are pretty typical (sadly so) of stories you hear when people commit suicide. Chrissy: the popular pretty girl with an eating disorder whose mother constantly criticizes her appearance and father says nothing. Fred: Guilt for accidentally causing someone's death in a car crash, and running away instead of facing the consequences. Max: Survivor's guilt, death of a sibling, family falling apart, and falling into poverty from a more suburban/well-to-do life style. Those feelings of "it should have been me, and everything would have been alright" that she lays out in her letter to Billy. Victor Creel: PTSD from combat during war, and ordering a strike that killed innocent civilians including a crib bound baby. Even the one basketball player he's starting to haunt you can hear as he enters his mind the kid is thinking about how his father really comes down on him for drinking, and is never good enough calling him a "goddamned disgrace to the family." Then there is how Vecna actually kills his victims. He tells them to "join me; time for your suffering to end" just before he kills them, which is very typical of the internal language depression causes you to think. "I should join those that i've lost/everyone I love would be better off without me/if I'm dead I wont hurt anymore" thought process are extremely prevalent. Even the physical way Vecna kills: body twisted, broken, eyes sucked in from the inside, whole body seemingly sucked dry, a twisted shell of your former self, and empty inside; like a dark void is just collapsing you from within. I think the Duffers did an excellent job at giving a visual representation of how depression can kill through how they use Vecna and his victims.

SmokeAndACoffee

The church is Yuri's smuggling base. Those are his hoards of peanut butter and clothing. Both not regularly available there in Russia.

Robert Miller

Better keep those tissues handy. I will say when I think back on Season 4, it's this episode and another one that's coming up that defines this season and marks this as one of the best seasons in streaming history.

Philip Davetas

I love young Weird AL! He stayed consistent, but looked a lot DIFFERENT older 😬 you almost have to see Rambo2 before UHF. I know Natty G has seen Raiders of Ark already... those are the two big ones. We 80s kids recognized Dare 2B Stupid in the Transformers movie immediately! (obscure reference, I know). He was our answer to super popular Michael Jackson- “Eat it!” & “Fat” (I think Nat would like “The Rye or Kaiser” aka eye of the tiger) 😝 speaking of food related comedy songs.

James Quinn

I have to agree, this is my favorite ST episode. The selection of Running Up That Hill was an amazing call. I can't see another song working.

John Richards

My favorite Stranger Things episode!

Jacob Klemann

Like a lot of people this is my favorite episode of ST ever. And that's saying something because of all the spectacular episodes before and after it. The flashes of Max being happy just get me every time because she's just so beaten down by this point in the series and I just want her to be happy again. Couple that with the song which is so relevant to her story and also the action in this sequence and it's probably the most beautifully done 15 minutes of television I've ever seen. Don't worry though. More amazing moments to come!

Marty McGee

My favorite episode to see people react to. And the more you look into the suicide symbolisms the more powerful it gets. I also like how Nat assumed El would have to be the one to save her, but it wasnt any superpowers that saved her, just her friends.

John

one of the best episodes of television ever IMO....seen it several times, especially the ending, so brilliantly done

Chris Lane- Venturi 3D

Lol, Nice.

Walter Lopez

I feel like UHF should be required viewing before Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.

Myles Away

This episode is crazy and one of the best Stranger Things episodes ever I believe. I cried the same time as you did when Max was reading the letter she wrote for Billy, and this is not my first, second, third, or fourth time watching this scene. Thank you so much for your reaction. I could tell that you were feeling all of the emotions and getting yourself into the story. That's one of the things that make your reactions so special! Thank you for all of this awesome content, Natalie! :)

Rafaielii

Lol Nice.

Walter Lopez

UHF would be even better.

Skizane

ST2 introduced 2 new characters- one of them being Max who was better than all the boys at everything! Skateboarding, video games, back talk... For this reason I’d like to see a tribute video for her and her brother called POWER PLAY! from the random obscure 80s comedy JOCKS! Haha- I’m gonna git ya with myyyyyy... oooo-weew!

James Quinn

Weird Al biopic??

Daniel Vezina

I've seen the end of this episode 3 times now and it still MESSES ME UP. You're a composed rock fully under control in comparison. It's one of my favourite things in media I've seen in many years. We're in episode 4, btw. Just .... throwing that out there. Wait, how far ahead are the recordings? She might be done already in real time haha

Shen V

Number one hit song in Australia for the SECOND TIME, I heard 🇦🇺

James Quinn

Eagles fan here living in Indiana. It was not an ideal Monday night. That’s for sure.

Zack Wallace

Fun bit about "Running Up That Hill." Kate Bush owns the rights to her music, so rather than just license the songs through whatever company owns them, the producers had to meet with Kate Bush and show her the scene to get her approval to use her song. (And then when the song shot up to #1 after 30-ish years, Kate Bush got a very nice payday rather than just getting the fractional pennies that most artists get from streaming.)

Kevin Mowery

As an Eagles fan living in Virginia, it was rough start to the week.

Michael McNeill

She is not the only Eagles fan here! #FlyEaglesFly

Zack Wallace

Just so you’re aware, the last two episodes are full length movies. Episode 8 is an hour and a half, and episode 9 is two and a half hours long. So be ready for that.

djKENTO

She has already seen The Room :)

Danishprince

Casting Robert Englund was just *chef's kiss*

Ben Wheeler

DALLAS SUCKS!! but you’re ok 👍

Natalie Gold

Everybody raves about Sadie Sink's performance in this episode, and the raves are well-deserved. But Englund's guest appearance was magnificent. Given his history as Freddy Krueger you're expecting him to play some twisted evil person. But the Victor he gave us, this distraught man utterly broken by what was done to him, was just heartbreaking.

Patrick Egan

Big time enjoyed this reaction, Nat! Wow, I'm over here in tears. Solid episode for sure! This was my first time seeing this one. Wow. I'm very glad that I chose to wait to watch it with you. Though, I think I may decide to jump ahead now. Really looking forward to tomorrow's mystery movie! :D

Logan Kerlee

Went ahead and googled him, to read up on him. Turns out he shares my sister's birthday. xD

Logan Kerlee

Is the surprise movie "The Room"? If not, have you or would you be willing to watch this movie? Its made by the great Tommy Wiseau.

Walter Lopez

Why does Natalie always look so cute in a beanie? Lol

Jenny Tolls

Nat, you've come a long way from "Fine, I'll watch Stranger Things, are you happy?" :)

Patrick Egan

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this wasn't originally the idea of the Duffer bros and he sent in an audition tape himself. Love it.

rhaegar

Not yet mentioned here - Victor is played by Robert Englund who played Freddie Krueger in Nightmare on Elm Street. Another call back to cinematic icons of the 80's.

Avenging Dark

Gaaah THIS! This one! This is the episode... geez. It hits so HARD. I'm a military veteran, and the scene in the house.... o_O.... first time watching that I had some flashbacks from urban combat training xD lol. They shot that just so effin incredibly well. I was a blubbery teary-eyed mess pretty much all through this episode the first time I watched it; especially when "Max ran up that hill". Geez. Okay, now to watch the actual reaction; I'll write more later xD \m/(-_-)\m/

SmokeAndACoffee

Oh I was looking forward to this reaction and I cried right along with you! Also when you said that tomorrow's movie will be so different, why does it make me think you are going to watch a musical? I'm thinking Tick Tick Boom, In The Heights, or the new West Side Story.

Lisa Tosti

Looks like you turned off the episode before the end credits. the choral version is outstanging. Within a week Running up That hill was No.1 in multiple countries.

Andrew Dickinson

Go Cowboys. I'm in Dallas.... and Nat I'm surprised. You don't seem like someone who would throw batteries at visiting players or throw snowballs and boo Santa. Can't judge a book by it's cover I guess. (NFL smack talk. Please ignore this everyone else. This is between Cowboys and Eagles fans.) :p

Jack Burton

Ugh chills! This was definitely an episode I was impatiently waiting for you to see lol! I didn’t realize that the Victor Creel scene was an homage to Silence of the Lambs. I don’t think I’ve seen the entirety of that movie. Fun fact, the actor who plays Victor Creel also played Freddy Krueger! I also noticed the name Myers on the gravestone in Max’s Vecna nightmare this time around. Super fun catching all these horror movie references!

Amanda Ray

This has to be my personal favorite episode of the entire show. Not only did it bring a hit song from the past back to the top hits, but it also shows how to find happiness in the darkest of times. With close friends and good tunes. This episode is, without a doubt, a true masterpiece.

Mike Morina

I've been looking forward to this episode ever since you started reacting to Stranger Things! That final scene is one of the most phenomenal pieces of television I have ever witnessed. The acting, the cinematography, the music, the effects. So amazing. Gives me chills every time!

Jenn Rose

I definitely teared up in the last scene with Max and Running up that Hill. What a perfect song for that moment and really a great showcase of “the power of friendship”, that was so well executed here

Andy

And that is why Running Up the Hill came back to the charts haha. Great reaction!

sharmcant

Priceless reaction, I’ve been waiting for this one!

vincent pham

Nothing better on a rainy day off than a Stranger Things reaction!

Zeliodes

I haven’t watched it yet but the thought of this reaction is the only thing getting me through work today! 😅

Daniel McGuinness

The one I've been waiting for. I think the villain in this season being a sort of metaphor for suicide is really well done. Kids who have suffered trauma and are living with feelings of guilt and shame are his targets. The town doesn't understand these sudden deaths and the visuals of the dangling feet aa they float add to it

Ben Violette

That's not how over/under works lolol

Chris H

Wish my team was the Eagles, but #Raidernation has been let down massively this year.

Andrew Polinski

I've been waiting for this! I had the same reaction in the finale scene!

Jan Harald Fredheim

over/under swearing in the last 5 minutes, i say 20...

Andrew Dickinson

I’ve been waiting for this episode 👏🏾👏🏾😬

Jae

Let's go. Been waiting for this for so long.

Navjot Singh

Let's do this!! Looking forward to watch your reaction

Josip Buretić

Happy Things Thursday Nat. Everyone has been hyping this episode so I'm excited to finally get to watch it today with you 🤗 Holy shit, what an episode Nat, and your reaction was just so good. That finale 😢 In Ep.1 the creature reminded me a lot of Freddy Krueger, and in this episode they had Robert England, who played Freddy, playing Creel, so I wasn't that wrong ha ha Damn you Yuri. I hope he gets his comeuppance. Amazing video today Nattie. Thank you. Can't wait to see what you've got up your sleeve for us tomorrow 💛
