That Ekko and Powder fight on the bridge is my favorite scene of the entire series.

2024-12-03 04:46:15 +0000 UTCI adore the relationships in this show and how easy it is to root for them. It doesn't take that much exposition for us to feel the depth of them, and that's all thanks to the writers, the visual choices, the animation, the amazing voice acting, the songs; I mean, I could go on... Ekko and Powder's/Jinx's scene is epic and heartbreaking, no matter how many times I watch it. Loved your reaction! Also, I agree, Vi gives the best hugs. When Ekko started tearing up my soul left my body.

2023-01-01 21:02:34 +0000 UTCI mean, Marcus is like any other character in the show, as good as his circumstances allows him to be, just his circumstances are pretty shitty.
Javier Vara
2022-12-30 15:29:38 +0000 UTCI've seen a LOT of reactions to Arcane and at least half of the viewers thought Marcus killed Ekko. It's an odd thing to be annoyed by, since this show does seem to like doing a lot of fakeouts to fool people. (Everyone also seems to have the same reaction to Marcus dying, so there's that. In a show full of well-rounded interesting characters, Marcus was the least developed).

2022-12-30 00:35:15 +0000 UTCIt's that damn Netflix autoplay feature. Most people don't turn it off so they naturally default to turning the credits off before it jumps, rather than pressing a couple extra buttons it usually takes to go back to the credits.

2022-12-27 17:01:21 +0000 UTCMB, sorry I didnt mean to come out as disrespectful, ( especially to Natalie)! I forget to clean myself when writing messages and comments lol, The message that I was REALLY trying to come out with was that because I knew characters from the game and btw i dont actually play the game I just know characters. And because of that, I was trying to say that Nat pretty much gets front row seat first time watching experience, while I got spoiled...kinda! And the part about the "clearly clearly" was just me being extra in a stupid way. Again sorry for the disrespect and bad attitude. :)

2022-12-27 16:35:51 +0000 UTCoh mb, I thought Juan meant that there were exact SHOTS of the show that were in the video, The video definitely hints and shows some of the story in it. I think I just read it wrong lol
Unlikely
2022-12-27 16:28:51 +0000 UTCUnfortunately Nat missed the boat on listening to the AWESOME music at the credits. I went through all the episodes, and eps 3 & 6 should be mandatory. Eps 1 and 4 would be great, and Ep 5 is worth it just for the violin from Ray Chen. The outro music from eps 7,8 and 9 are pretty vanilla.
Mastervodo
2022-12-27 15:22:42 +0000 UTCas a league player I find it funny and weird (in a good way) that Nat refers to Caitlyn as Kiramman lol
ork89757
2022-12-27 13:56:32 +0000 UTCKnowing the game gives you insight, but given how Arcane has decided to tell its story it really isn't a definitive factor in knowing how things unfold. Please mind your tone and wording.
Rabbid Dawg
2022-12-27 12:13:57 +0000 UTCThere are details that you only notice when watching the show for the second time and let me tell you that is not "clearly clearly" at all, also calm down a little bit lad. Be respectful
Juan
2022-12-27 11:54:57 +0000 UTCwhy did a part of me get so pissed off when she thought Ekko died when you could CLEARLY CLEARLY see the shot getting deflected, Also how she thought the fake firelights were real fire lights. kinda funny and dumb lol! Another thing I kept getting upset about even tho I literally cant is that I know EVERYONE that survives no matter what happens, only because I know them from the game. And because she doesnt play the game, she doesnt know who does. So in a way i guess it makes it more enjoyable and emotional for her while I get spoiled a lot :(
Unlikely
2022-12-27 08:29:55 +0000 UTCThere's like one or two hints to the last two episodes so it might be worth it to watch after finishing season 1
Yani Dodge
2022-12-27 08:14:26 +0000 UTCYeah, I've wondered that before too. I wish she would have tried but I also understand that she's acting in a very human manner. Jinx just tried to shoot her after Vi specifically went back to save her just a minute before. Also Vi's having to deal with her own traumas, especially on that bridge, we just don't get to seem them as clearly as Jinx's ghosts :(
Yani Dodge
2022-12-27 08:13:45 +0000 UTC"There's a chance you might be in the wrong business." XD
Yani Dodge
2022-12-27 08:09:38 +0000 UTCIt's such a good series accompaniment! I enjoy watching people react to that almost as much as I enjoy watching Arcane reactions. Nat probably won't do it as a reaction but I second the suggestion, 100% worth a watch!
Yani Dodge
2022-12-27 08:09:07 +0000 UTCAnd you can see them in this episode when she throws down her gun in her first scene of this episode
Yani Dodge
2022-12-27 08:07:19 +0000 UTCAnother sad parallel I noticed is that the opening scene is an enforcer shooting a downed man on the bridge. Now Jinx does the same with a downed enforcer
Yani Dodge
2022-12-27 08:06:48 +0000 UTCactually, the Music video for "Enemy" has 0 scenes from the show at all, It just shows some of the story! look again and you'll notice, if you do find any let me know the time stamp for it.

2022-12-27 07:52:22 +0000 UTCI always thought she actually stole some and simply added the bombs to them
Rich House
2022-12-27 04:39:15 +0000 UTCHere's a dark thought I haven't seen yet: Victor states "There is always a choice" after an argument about making weapons, in a room with the best(only?) 2 hextech experts and a bomb that's about to explode. There is a significant pause between finding the wire and cutting it, and Victor's dying already anyway...
Ghengis Don
2022-12-27 03:10:41 +0000 UTCI recommend you react to the music video for Enemy, maybe after episode 8. There are some Arcane scenes in there.
Juan
2022-12-26 23:51:23 +0000 UTC"I had a crush, until you started talking to the gun" One of Ekko's quotes when Jinx is in the enemy team during the game. 🥺
Juan
2022-12-26 23:50:58 +0000 UTCI think there are several factors at that moment that play into this: 1. Caitlyn is heavily injured and can't walk on her own. 2. Their main goal (or at least Cait/Ekko's main goal) is to get the gemstone in front of the council so they can de-escalate the tensions in the city and prove that Silco is behind the attacks. While Vi's top priority is still saving Powder, this is still important to her and could be important for saving Powder too since Vi still mostly blames Silco for everything. 3. Vi just saw a pretty clear example of Ekko's argument that Jinx is happily working for Silco and that the Powder she knew is gone. She just blew up a bridge and started shooting at her so that's gonna affect Vi's decision-making, consciously or not. tldr it's not so much she can't go back for Powder, but more like she makes a choice in the moment (right choice or not that's up to you)
bchansta
2022-12-26 22:37:51 +0000 UTCI don't understand, why can't Vi go after Powder in that last sequence?
Matthew seegmiller
2022-12-26 21:07:22 +0000 UTC"i dont want to cry again" i think you might be watching the wrong series for that Nat haha, but im glad you're getting as invested in the characters as we all did!

2022-12-26 20:58:11 +0000 UTCI hope everyone has been having a safe and Merry Christmas. Take some time to think of and thank all the amazing on-duty police officers, dispatchers, firefighters, first responders, and active duty military.

2022-12-26 19:39:57 +0000 UTCYou should really watch the making of arcane that is on YouTube. I think it's like a 5-6 part series it's called "bridging the rift". Also watch the enemy music video if gives u more insight into powder and ekkos relationship.

2022-12-26 18:45:19 +0000 UTC1) Those weren't firelights, they were little mechanical drones. 2) They weren't Ekko's. They were little bombs built by Jinx (which is why their wings reveal scribbled monkeys
Foxyguava
2022-12-26 18:28:51 +0000 UTCThe exploding Firelights are Jinx 's creation.
Jayson Phillips
2022-12-26 18:00:59 +0000 UTCFew shots of Jinx working on them at her work bench in episodes 4 and 5, I believe.

2022-12-26 17:51:20 +0000 UTCWatching this show again has been great. I have been looking forward to watching each episode with the watch along. Today I have a large coffee and some holiday cookies for a snack. I can't think of a better way to take a break from cleaning, than watching Nat cry. Wait... That doesn't sound right. Anyway, Has anyone thought about telling Nat she'll need a bigger boat (Tissue Box) for these last 3 episodes? Nat thought the show started heavy... But this ride is about to get crazy Nat.

2022-12-26 17:07:25 +0000 UTCThis being early lead to a really nice surprise to wake up to. Episode 7 was a powerful one that has a lot going on. Ekko and the firelights really brought a positive light/side but we also start to see more about silco and Mel that doesnt make them as black and white as characters. The chembaron scene with silco was another good reminder where he and his hate for top side comes from.
Joshua Kon
2022-12-26 17:05:55 +0000 UTCI feel the artists in this episode took special care to do several shots showing the actual firelight bug - so that when the robo-lightbombs showed up, the viewer would be able to tell that those weren't real firelights.
Mastervodo
2022-12-26 16:53:52 +0000 UTCI just noticed when Powder walk on the bridge she's humming a song, it's the same song she was singing with her eyes closed in the first episode walking this same bridge holding her Vi's hand.
David Bourgeois
2022-12-26 16:48:54 +0000 UTCThe firelight flies don't normally explode; that swarm of them were mechanical bombs build by Jinx. She partially got the idea from those mechanical butterflies they were showing at the "Progress Day" festival.

2022-12-26 16:06:36 +0000 UTCThat was me being careful. Ive learned the basic world history but barely anything about the actual characters.

2022-12-26 16:01:02 +0000 UTCI see - and that's cool that you're looking forward to more. Idk how familiar you are with League lore, but it's really fun to read through and it's something to feed us content while we wait for S2. Be careful of any soft spoilers you might be implying when mentioning characters from Arcane though. Nat might already be done with the show, but there are others that go through these comments that haven't seen all of it yet.
Rabbid Dawg
2022-12-26 15:59:17 +0000 UTCYay! Up early! And I wasn't sure we were going to get Arcane today. I really hope Wednesday doesn't start until Wednesday, and Nat intros with "IT'S WEDNESDAY, MY DUDES!"

Ryan
2022-12-26 15:43:35 +0000 UTCNot unimportant, but I don’t think the characters in season 1 are going to be the direct reason more characters will be introduced. I think they will start bouncing back and forth between locations with separate groups of characters until things start to fall together. And my comment was basically meant to explain how one doesn’t need any knowledge of the games to fully understand the show. They made Arcane with a strong enough tonal foundation to stand on it’s own. I’m interested how hex tech will play a part in actual mages being introduced in proper, what Victor’s storyline will lead to, how long they can keep the focus on Vi and Jinx, and if they will bother with characters or stories that happened in the past. So far Heimerdinger is the only real reason we have seen a glimpse of past events, but I’m not sure if they will continue to use the past as simple flashes meant to warn the modern day, or if they will actually dedicate future episodes to showing past events in their entirety. I wonder how much of the wars will be mentioned or shown, but I’d love to see huge monsters and/or gods in this art style with this level of maturity.

2022-12-26 15:14:07 +0000 UTCHi Nat, hope you have had a great festive season with family and friends (a doggies). Looking forward to the rest of Arcane. I'm just watching all of Game Of Thrones with your full commentary and loving it.. Looking forward to 2023, hope its a good year for us all, I think after the last few years we all deserve a good year.. Thanks for what you do xx

2022-12-26 15:05:45 +0000 UTCThe whole of League lore is based in 'soft canon', so saying Arcane is an alternate version of the game is both sorta true and not. There is an insane amount of stories connected to various things about Runeterra, the world League is set in, and the multiple platforms (LoL, Wild Rift, LoR, Ruined King) have taken these stories in different directions to varying degrees of canon. They've applied this to Arcane as well - I'm convinced it's to allow all the different writing teams working on each property to have some wiggle room. Arcane may or may not be sticking to base LoL canon stories and it's fun as a lore nerd to see where they take things. Or which storylines they choose to follow closely and which ones they change. There are definitely some character interactions that are alluded to in game (and elaborated upon with Arcane) and others that are completely original. There are also multiple things happening in Runeterra on the large scale, but the events of Piltover/Zaun are by no means unimportant. I also think this is the reason why the time skip.timeline isn't really mentioned in Arcane, as to keep things vague.
Rabbid Dawg
2022-12-26 15:02:03 +0000 UTCI don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but this show is an alternate version of the game. The characters, locations, and basic backstories are all pulled from the games (for the most part), but the interactions between the characters and this timeline is completely original. No one is really sure where season 2 will go because like you noticed in the first episode, this show only uses about 7-10 characters (personally never played the games, so I'm not sure) from the huge list of champions in the games, and they are by no means that important to the overarching story that ties the world together. Like many people, I assume they chose to start the show in this location with these characters because they aren't that complex in the grand scheme of things, and Piltover is located almost in the exact center of the world map that exists in the games, meaning in future seasons, it should be easy to branch off to new locations from Piltover, and also this city might become a ground zero for much larger events that weave back and forth across the world.

2022-12-26 14:16:05 +0000 UTCHappy Monday Nat. Hope you had an awesome weekend and you're keeping safe and warm. Looking forward to seeing how this show reaches it's conclusion. Such a double whammy today. That's just mean 😥 I usually sit and watch the credits while I digest what we've just witnessed. You used to be able to switch off the autoplay in your settings, but I don't know if that function exists anymore. Can't wait to see what happens next. Thanks for an awesome reaction today Nat 💛
