2023-01-01 21:53:38 +0000 UTCImo, it's tragic on its own because just like Viktor, we didn't get that much time to spend with Skye, our focus was elsewhere - and he regrets not spending enough time with her despite her being around so often to even know where she'd want her ashes to be spread. I think folks want to think we should feel sorry for Skye (and we should!) but I think the intention was to give us the perspective of someone losing sight of what's important when so doggedly pursuing a goal as well. "Im our pursuit of great, we failed to do good".

Honestly I wish they spent more time with Jayce and his assistant to build the emotional impact of that scene, but they did have limited time. Thanks as always Nat! Can't wait for the finale

2022-12-29 12:55:14 +0000 UTCWith how popular this season was, they will certainly be hiring more artists for the next season. That + 3D tools are improving at an exponential pace and shortening a lot of time wasting processes that CG artists have had to deal with for decades, like topology and fast raytraced lighting. The hand drawn 2d elements are also incredibly time consuming, and people are experimenting with ways to avoid that time investment with 3d as well, although that would be kind of sad that traditional animators are out of work if it does happen. So if it does take that long, you can bet they will be putting the extra time into making the visual style even better. Plus, a lot of the work of building the sets and character models in 3d have already been done or they have a base that will get them 90% of the way there. They also don't have to lookdev for the whole style of the show like they would have for the first season.

She got to know by now that Arcane Season two might not return until 2024 at the earliest and could even be as far as 2026-2028. Which makes the last episode of Arcance the Saddest Episode Ever.

2022-12-28 02:42:41 +0000 UTCI seriously doubt she does this when watching casually. This is her job, and at this point, it's not even just her and her family that are dependent on this channel. The editor needs enough to work with to make a video lengthy enough for the ad revenue they need. So that means talking constently. This is pretty typical of reaction channels, at least the ones that I watch. The patreon full length reactions aren't meant to be the actual content, they're there for people who feel the need to see the whole thing. You may be right about her tendency to state the obvious, but I don't think you can characterize that it's a core part of her personality instead of just a natural effect of the nature of her job.

Singed, the guy who 'helped' Powder in this episode was the man who invented shimmer. He was badly burned when Powder set his lab alight in the explosion.

I follow some reactors who do that and it does give them a lot of freedom to process which is cool

2022-12-27 20:50:23 +0000 UTCAs a content creator, she is making content. Unfortunately for the Patreon stuff to work she can't pause and talk. Her format works and she's basically been doing it this way from the start. I think everyone should watch this show at least twice just to see the foreshadowing and nuance the show has from the very start. If Natalie likes this enough she can go back and watch without the pressure of performing, and I hope she does. I still consider this some of the best television to come out in years. I'm floored by how much information Natalie takes in while giving her raw reaction, and she's even demonstrated that things do pass her by but she realizes later (mecha-firelights that Jinx/powder made.) Keep up the good work Nat, Looking forward to Wednesday too... I guess I'll have to stick around.

I've played league for a decade and although I don't play it much anymore I've always adored the lore so this series made me so happy, Riot did an amazing job and I'm glad it reached global audiences outside of League players

After you have finished the season, if you want a bit more information on the creation of the show (why it took 6 years to create, the animation style, the music and sound, as well as a sneak peak at the release event they had for it), there is a 5-part docu-series on the League of Legends YouTube channel that is very well done. They are about 25-30 minute episodes, but very cool to watch. Maybe something in your spare time, not necessarily needing a reaction, but I'm sure a ton of people would not say "no" if you did. Hope your holidays and travels are going well!

Iโm talking about the contrast between the need to search for confirmations that something is worth being appreciated and the natural appreciation thatโs invoked which is confirmation in and of itself. Most people donโt look at it like that, thatโs fine. If youโre talking about my comment under Avatar last week, canโt argue there, I didnโt have to say that. By and large, most of my comments are positive or thoughtful. Dialogue with strangers in a niche part of the internet isnโt really my priority, I care more about stories.

That being said I think she did a great job going over their dynamic when both videos are taken into account. Also I like Vi and Cait's budding romance better than Jace's and Mel's and I'm a straight male. Mel may care for Jace now but I think she was 100% using him at first

2022-12-27 15:56:36 +0000 UTCSometimes they do the cold openings so well, especially with the score, that I wish they changed up the intro song for certain episodes, especially towards the end. I always wanted the song Enemy to suddenly take a darker tone, with the high strings and synth noise cut, leaving hard drum hits with the low tones and only the vocals sitting on top, maybe with a more somber tone to them. And the chorus could suddenly become more orchestral with strings and low brass instead of the pop sounding beats and editing. Just my two cents as a composer myself.

2022-12-27 15:46:41 +0000 UTCI say this from a place of pure passion for stories and recognition of what becoming a content creator does to someone, but sometimes I feel like you taught yourself to be sad without being vulnerable. It doesn't have to cause you to have the same reaction as others had, or that I had, but it feels like you compel yourself to talk over anything that's noteworthy as if that's the most relevant thing at the moment, like a sad conversation in the rain, or the fact politicians are acting like politicians. I get it, and I have similar thoughts and observations when I watch something like this, but sometimes it might be worth collecting your thoughts instead of letting them spill out. Other people in the comments can come for me, that's fine. I think it's worth saying because reminders like this can help provide some perspective. An audience is nice to have, but you're just a person sitting in their house watching a show. Doesn't have to be a play-by-play. And I really want to stress that I don't mind what is being said, those opinions and observations are why I have stuck around these past couple years, but the format and delivery almost detracts from why I enjoy it in the first place. It's hard to believe you aren't just pumping out content when you talk over the majority of important moments. Scatter brain is one thing, forgetting why you started this is another. You're kind and intelligent, and if you read this, I hope you understand I wanted to be as objective as possible. Art is wonderful, and sometimes it doesn't have to be talked about to be appreciated. An expression can say a lot. I apologize for my bluntness, and look forward to future reactions.

Especially Ep 6 for Cait after she gives Vi the shimmer and gets so close she could kiss Vi and stares into her eyes for 5 straight seconds and has to turn away and change the subject as Vi comes to. And in Ep 7 for Vi. When Vi gives Ekko the good-bye hug it's just normal. For Cait she affectionally calls her cupcake and they both nuzzle and as she goes to leave she rubs her thumb down Cait's cheek. That's not a "We just friends" goodbye. And of course this episode just confirms their feelings.
