It looked similar to what Jayce did with his hammer producing a shield, so I think it was a matter of not reading the instruction manual. I think the learning was the Hexcore, not the Hextech powered devices that were created.

I have been binge watching Season 1 with the watch alongs. I saw episode 1 of season 2 already and now I can start watch season 2 more with your watch alongs. I notice how Vi was like a daughter to Vander and Jinx became a daughter to Silco. This is such a great show. The only flaw is Imagine Dragons. All the other songs are soooooo much better. It does feel like someone could throw a cosplay party with Arcane as the Theme. Both Caitlin and Jinx are blue.

Actually, I've tried playing D&D but couldn't get into it, which is why I appreciate it so much. I'm afraid I have to disagree with your premise it's heavily aimed toward pen-and-paper RPG players. While it's clearly heavily influenced by D&D it's been made so that non-D&D players can also enjoy it, which is why it has such great reviews. Also maybe give Nat a little more credit, saying she wouldn't get it is pretty insulting.

Hey, Nat I just joined your Patreon because of your reactions to Arcane. Great show but in the Finale, you mentioned you like animated series that are more comedic and light-hearted. With that being said I would suggest you react to The Legend of Vox Machina. It's not kid friendly but it is comedic and just an overall great atmosphere there are also a lot of darker tones that I think you would appreciate as well.

"Should've locked the door Viktor" Sky literally unlocked doors going in, so clearly he did. Also, about Heimerdinger, consider this, he's the founder of the city, he has been there since the start. Everything that has happened, the split between Piltover and Zaun and the suffering citizens has all been going on during his entire time as head of the council. He might not be evil, but he has been the most ignorant of them all in the council, 200 years and still he has done nothing to help with the city eating itself alive under him. He's part of the problem, he absolutely should not be in the council. Jayce was right, Heimer keeps going "Don't do this" but never comes up with any solutions himself.

damn you are really against Jayce. Ya he hasn't done the good he expected to and was way over his head, but the very beginning you're blaming Jayce for being impulsive and causing that whole attack when it was Vi's idea to begin with, she went to him after the council voted against it. Vi was the one that wanted this war, she always wanted to fight even as a kid when Vander had to reign her in. She's willing to go for blood when Jayce is now being scared off by it.

you know what I noticed while watching reaction channels? nobody ever mentions Sting. I mean i guess the emotionality and climax of the finale almost overshadows the music, but this show really hired one of the all-time greats (multiple really, with Imagine dragons and woodkid too) and had them sing songs personally composed by Riot in a spinechilling way, with really profound lyrics that sound like a character like Jinx could be saying them. The budget on this show is insane.

Hey so now that you finished the season. You talked about who is survived and who didn't but i don't want to really spoil S2 if that was even possible. But Jinx, Vi (V-eye), Ekko, Caitlyn, SINGED(which is the scientist guy that Viktor kept going to meet, Viktor himself, Heimerdinger, Ryze, and even Jayce are all champions (characters) in League of Legends which mean if they dont change stuff about the story, all the characters i listed survived until next season. Jayce specifically was who i was focused on lol.

I don't think Viktor is craving to safe only himself. His hole research is about helping the people in the Undercity. So when his health got worse he feels the pressure to finish it as i don't think he believed Jayce was that commited to help the people in Zaun (at least not anymore).

The League Champions don't necessarily exist all at one time so the only requirement for characters to reach I would guess is that they loosely reach their point in which they are depicted in the game. And by the end of season 1 a few of them could satisfy that requirement.

It wasn't until you mentioned it, but I just realized, or think I did, that Jinx put the gun by Silco on purpose. Not so he would shoot Vi, but because she still sees him as a father and some part of her just wanted him to take care of all that chaos. Silco did fire the gun, but it missed Vi. You can see the bullet hole in the chair right next to Vi's head, and he probably only missed because he was pushed off target by the bullets riddling his body.

The last sequence of shots in this episode teases a lot of what's to come, but it's hard to pick up on for someone who doesn't know which characters in this show are characters from the games. I don't think they will stick to a predicable "main characters manage to survive forever" troupe, but so far, no characters from the games have died in this show. Jinx is probably the most interesting storyline because in the games, she's an anti villain, but I think they will be more respectful to her development with future seasons. Not that she will get a happy ending, but they might have her try to rectify some of her previous choices. The tone the show takes at the end doesn't match the tone the games take when depicting her antics. The last thing I'll say is that while Piltover is a very complicated place from a political perspective, it looks like a playground compared to the cruelty and hardships found elsewhere in this world. I think the show will eventually get to a point where there's massive, world-changing events happening, and less interesting champions pop up here and there as easter eggs, but they will probably focus on the namesake of the show and build a story around the power and price of using the arcane as a way to determine what stories they tell and which characters they decide to add in future seasons. If they stay in Piltover forever, the story doesn't have much more to build on and would simply become a downward spiral. I'm guessing the next season will also have several time skips, and I wonder if it will pick up immediately from where we left off or if they will simply mention the aftermath of Jinx's weapon as people are trying to move on with their lives. Unfortunately, most fans know where Vi's story is heading, but I have no idea what will happen to everyone else.

I came from a city that's geographically like what we saw in the series, Topside ad Bottom(I came from the bottom side), so I related a LOT to it. The fact that the took care to animate DUST, is amazing. That and the lighting(for an animated show) is what made me fall in love with the animation. I think, Jace And Victor are safe from the explosion, since they are the farthest. Madera too, since her dress/armor seems to shine just before it explodes.

2 lines i think beautifully show this series, how there truly are no just evil characters, everyone had layers, even silco "in the pursuit of great, we failed to do good" (one of my all time favourite quotes) "is there anything so undoing as a daughter" i love this line especially because it was the moment Silco understood vander, he understood what could cause vander to stop fighting finally, his kids, his daughters, Silco finally had something he wanted more than his fight. its a shame honestly, i mean i loath silco as a person but as a character, it would be really interesting to see where he would have gone once he had that realisation. im hyped for season 2, careful looking up info as there is a LOT of speculation based on game info that might be spoilery for you since you have no game info, but im so excited, they definitely planned for a season 2, as there are a lot of thread planted, even from as early as episode 1 threads that have no answer were placed, im excited to see where this series goes. im so glad you finally got to watch this show, and im glad you got as invested as you did haha

Yeeaaah! I'm so glad you watched this. It is a beautiful tragedy, one of the best shows I've ever seen full stop. I have a lot of empathy for a lot of characters like you said, but my favorites are probably Vi and Ekko (and Caitlyn). If I had to pick one, Vi, because I relate to her a lot, especially as an older sister and her and Powder/Jinx have just been through so much! I hope you can check out Bridging the Rift sometime (doesn't have to be for patreon/youTube) it's just a great watch to see everything that was put into this show. To be fair, the imagine dragons music video was more of a nod to the animation companies (Fortiche) come up. They got their start making animated music videos such as Gorillaz and then further making the music videos for everything riot does with music in the lead up to releasing this show. On top of that imagine dragons had been involved with riot for a long time, making the theme song to one of the early World Championships and playing live at the final. I appreciate it somewhat as a nod to the past, but 100% could be cringe without the context

I honestly wonder if the dogs are reacting to your anxiety at the more intense moments of the show. I'm sure they can sense the tension. As you said, the show is very much a tragedy. I think it sort of stems from the fact that a lot of these are characters in a video game that doesn't have a lot of story elements inside the game, so to infuse them with as much life as possible they have to write a quick backstory for each character, and the best way to quickly provide depth to a character is with a tragic backstory. Then you throw all those characters together in one show and its "oops all tragedy!" The show is very much a work of art. It took them six years to complete it. Really hoping they streamlined their development process so that the second season comes considerably faster.

I really enjoyed your reaction to this alot, I watched some of your yt reactions before and when I saw u uploaded arcane 1-3 I knew I will go to patreon to watch the full lenght and perfect timing aswell because you just uploaded this one after I finished binging 1-8 (Luckily my expections for your schedule worked out :D ) Anyway ofc there where some takes I didnt agree with but everyone is diffrent so thats to be expected. Overall I loved the reactions, arcane is by far one of my favorite shows, just one thing, you might want to get a headsead that supresses your own voice while watching because you missed a couple of very important dialogs while you were talking, that wouldnt happen if you had something to supress your voice/background noice. So glad you enjoyed this show. This animation is beautiful, and the writing is exceptional. I think the only cringe part is the random Imagine Dragons music video in that one episode, but otherwise loved this first season. It will be interesting to see how they move forward from here, but the amount of lore that these characters have written about them is pretty incredible so there's tons more to explore. This show introduced about 10 (give or take, depending on theories) of the champions from League of Legends but theres over 150 of them. Some people after this show started reading a bunch of lore from the game to better understand the characters. As you make reactions I do not think you should do that. Riot has reworked a couple characters' stories while working on this show, and there are potential spoilers for certain characters in their biographies.

I don't think you'll have much more to add to your end-of-video thoughts but I figure you'll have a few more after you've taken the time to edit this video and catch what you missed the first time. (Like seeing Vander hanging in the Doctor's Lab. There's a bad moon rising. ) When you noticed Victor was in the council room when the bomb hit, I bet that hurt a bit more. Being that you like Victor so much. I would like to get your thoughts on the idea that Heimerdinger was a lousy politician. While his heart might have been in the right place. His impotence is a reflection on the real-world politicians that were slow to action during the AIDS Crisis or the Crack Epidemic that killed Millions. Heimerdinger's long lifespan is a handicap while representing other races that live a fraction of his already long 315+ years. ( It's on par with no term limits or families that tend to hold onto power for some reason. Bush/Clinton/Royals.) Sure there is a good reason not to rush into something wildly, but Heimerdinger's problem was he moved at a snail's pace. Allowing Shimmer to grow like cancer in the under the city. Sometimes doing anything is better than doing nothing. There's something to be said about trying and failing vs failing to try at all. Thank you Nat for the watch-along. I really enjoyed revisiting this show again. I have stayed away from the show Wednesday so I can share in the reaction a little more. Sadly, I just don't see Wednesday giving us a " No way, No Way, No Way... Oh, she made her a cupcake. Because she calls her Cupcake." moment in this next show. But I can dream.

Mastervodo, you might like Bridging the Rift episode 4. It's about the making of the music for the series. "What could have been" was perfect for the episode. That song and the title added something new to think about. There are so many "monsters" (Zaun, Silco, Jinx) created by so many people (Vi, Vander, Piltover, Silco, Zaun). Yet we can understand how they came to be and feel for them.

I loved how that final scene came together. It was the definition of a dramatic tragedy in my eyes. All of the problems were about to be solved, but Jinx is a catalyst to chaos and took it away in a moment. I've never followed the games or the low but I feel in love with this show. Hell, I love Silco so much, that he is probably my favorite villain of the century. This show was a legitimate 10/10 and one of the few that I've seen multiple times since its release.

Hey Nat! Don't know that you respond much to questions in comments.. but here goes! But first - Viktor was in the council chambers too, so he isn't "safe". My question: Eps 3,6 and 9 at the ends had some great original songs. ep3 "Goodbye" by Ramsey, ep6 ""Guns for Hire" by Woodkid, and ep9 "What could have been" Sting/Ray Chen. (those are my 3 favs) Were you able to listen to those in full and/or did you have any songs that really stood out for you? Would love to hear your thoughts specifically about the music for the series. Which parts you really liked and why? And, you know - any of the other fans around here can weigh in too!

Yup, I think so too, they already said production time for next seasons would be much shorter and they have working on S2 for a while already, much before S1 was even premiered.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us in the end! Just know that Viktor was with Jayce in the last scene we saw of them. The storytelling imo has been some of the best I've come to experience in film/animation thus far and this show shot up to my favorite series of all time. There's so much in the dialogue that parallels both the themes and other characters in the show - it makes for an amazing rewatch if you plan to ever revisit it (hopefully in preparation for S2). The artwork, voicework, action and music are are so beautifully delivered in this season, it seems almost an impossible task to recreate it in a Season 2, but here's to hoping! Thank you for taking us through this journey, even though for some of us, it might be umpteenth time. It's always lovely to see it again with fresh eyes. And for those that have seen this alongside Nat for the first time, I hope you've enjoyed it! Thanks for giving it a try. Also best girl Caitlyn. Ekko is the GOAT, but I'm glad we were able to see empathy from someone topside - she's a glimmer of hope that peace between the areas could be met and she's insistent to try to make things work.

This show made me mad once it ended. I cannot believe we have to wait for as long as we do for season 2, but I know the wait will be worth every second. EDIT: I hope Nat has Dark on one of her polls soon. Would love to see her watch that show.

Long time lurker, so not sure if it's been brought up at one point or another, but here's hoping Arcane becomes an intro to more adult oriented animation (yes anime, like Millenium Actress, A Silent Voice, Perfect Blue, Your Name, Cyberpunk 2077, the like), or at least the movie kind (because most series can be too long). Also Happy New Year!

When I first watched Arcane, I thought, without a doubt - that it was the best animated series I had watched in literally decades. After watching through a few more times - I consider it to be my favorite animated anything of all time. And it ranks up there with any Marvel, LOTR, Star Wars or any other IP from bigger studios. My fear is that Season 2 won't be able to keep up. It doesn't have to top it - but trying to find the same balance of story consistently is hard, and rarely ever done. And I've loved Nat's reactions.

Please, try to fit the Enemy music video by Imagine Dragons and J.I.D. into your schedule. It includes all new animation that was not in the series. I know the song isn't your favorite, but it's worth watching. I'd estimate half the Arcane reactors also react to the video.

Talking about safer animated shows, you should watch the Jurassic Bark episode of Futurama... actually, don't as you might need therapy after watching that one. Dammit Nat, now I am calling her "Vee" in my head instead of "Vie"... and I blame you. ;^P

It looked similar to what Jayce did with his hammer producing a shield, so I think it was a matter of not reading the instruction manual. I think the learning was the Hexcore, not the Hextech powered devices that were created.

I liked Vox Machina but I think it's heavily aimed towards pen-and-paper RPG players. I don't think Nat would like it, she wouldn't get it. I bet you are a D&D player, aren't you?

Not sure how into anime you are but I really think you'd enjoy Erased on Netflix. I know some will complain about the ending. But I don't think it takes away from the emotion & themes portrayed

I always thought Jayce would end up being the Villain of the whole story but I guess I was wrong.😭 Who know's? We didn't see any bodies hit the floor. I mean the bomb would have disintegrated all of their bodies but I think I have good feeling about this...

I don't think Viktor is craving to safe only himself. His hole research is about helping the people in the Undercity. So when his health got worse he feels the pressure to finish it as i don't think he believed Jayce was that commited to help the people in Zaun (at least not anymore).

The League Champions don't necessarily exist all at one time so the only requirement for characters to reach I would guess is that they loosely reach their point in which they are depicted in the game. And by the end of season 1 a few of them could satisfy that requirement.

The use of the word 'mega' in reference to when Nat talks about a specific scene was the best choice of words for anyone familiar with the game since its the name of an ability.

Great series, Riot always pleases when it comes to their animation, I hope some day you will watch their game cinematic videos and their animated music videos they are top notch like this show!

It's hard to talk and listen or read at the same time. She's always going to miss things. It's just part of the gig.

I've seen some non-League reactors catch it and ask if it is Vander. But it's a fair point.

You should check out Legend of Korra if you want a more light hearted animated show!

Such a brilliant series. It took me totally by surprise and I've watched it maybe 10 times now. I appreciate the care and attention put into every aspect of the show. The passion is very clear.

there is something that no one that doesnt know league would ever concider to be vander, I kinda hate that people keep bringing it up bc it spoils a possible insane reveal for people that dont know league/the lore.

I for sure would recommend it, I also dont like animations usually, but arcane quickly became one of my favorite shows.
