You should check out Outrageous Fortune, he plays twins in it and his range is incredible. It's anearly 2000's kiwi show so it might be hard to find

If I remember correctly didn't Hood use the experience of the fight with the Albino to beat the MMA fighter? Wasn't the ep 50% flash back?

OnederB71 NLN

The MMA fighter was definitely the most entertaining and unfortunately nothing in the entire run of the show ever topped it, but I think the fight with the Albino in the prison was the most brutal.

Skizane

Fair q? "Hood" does kicks ass pretty much every episode. My favorite beat down is S01E03 when Hood has to take down the MMA fighter and Hood does that thing to the MMA guys hand and the MMA guys give that high pitched squeal... goose bumps every time, half pain cringe half satisfaction.

OnederB71 NLN

Which one?

Skizane

Well, I did say it's electric based not electric itself. I can only assume she converts electricity to light somehow. I won't get into specifics, but it's shown later in the series that she doesn't have her light powers in the absence of an electrical power source.

Richard Maurer

Is it electric? I know it may be almost the same but It seems more like Light Energy. Like not and electron based power but photon based one. I tell my self her power is energy, entropy that gets expressed in the physical realm as as light.

OnederB71 NLN

Anthony Starr is great. I don't know if it will be you cup of tea but his show Banshee is great. Well formed characters, gritty, real and some seriously satisfying revenge. Theon (GOT) had it worse but the beat down Starr gives in Banshee still give me goose bumps.

OnederB71 NLN

Possible Spoiler Alert - no specifics just general power overview. It's electric based, as she depends on outside electricity (power lines, car batteries, etc.) to generate her light powers, she also has super strength, and limited invulnerability - she's bullet proof.

Richard Maurer

i feel frenchie

Cripkie

What is starlights power exactly chat? is it em fields or is it ionizing radiation like solar flares?

Cripkie

I remember Antony Star(homelander) from when i was a boy. He was on a New Zealand soap opera playing identical twins i think. Or maybe he has a twin for real, i cant remember.

Cripkie

im not sure if his skin could contain the air pressure of a closed blast, like holding a firecracker in a closed fist as opposed to an open palm. Your probably right about the skin shrapnel tho.

Cripkie

Je ne sais pas = I don't know Fais-toi plaisir = please yourself

Just because something is entertainment doesn't mean you can break the natural rules of the world you set your story in whenever it becomes convenient to do so, not even in fantasy, or sci-fi. As I said before I don't care if they bend the laws of physics, as long they have some kind reason why. But just saying "I did it for arts sake" isn't good enough in a world grounded in reality. If it was some kind of abstract piece fine, but this not an abstract. And for the record, I will remind everyone the producer did claim they realized his skin should contain the blast but the explosion was a better visual. The producer saying "it looked cool" is just laziness, not artistry.

Richard Maurer

What you need to realize is that this is entertainment. Creators don't think through every detail like fans like to imagine. In the end what matters is "Does it work in the moment? Is it entertaining?" .... exact physics is not what most people expect or care to see.

Myles Away

Btw, bone fragment injuries/deaths from an explosion are a real thing - Google if you don't believe me.

Richard Maurer

To be clear I love this show. But this whole problem with his skin just came to me and starting nagging at me. Then I Googled it and the producer's answer really annoyed me. It would have been better if he came up with something about it losing its durability when expanded from the inside or some shit, it doesn't have to realistic, but just saying it looked cool was dumb. And if it was able to be exploded from the inside that still doesn't explain how Hughie survived the carbon/ bone shrapnel at such close range. I'm not losing sleep over it or anything, it's just a little annoying, that's all.

Richard Maurer

His skin may be impenetrable but if there's nothing for the skin to be attached to, then probably gonna make a mess.

Joe Blankenship

Many of us assumed she at least knew about the Addams Family...but she didn't...she might get interested to see it later as she ends Wednesday

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

Yep... its kinds like Drax in GOTG2 thinking he can kill the beast by going inside it, and Peter and Gamora saying pretty much what you said.

James Hudson

IDK I don't watch comic book media hoping for hyper realistic physics.

Erik Stevenson

I always preface those types of problems I have with the fact that I only noticed it after my nth time rewatching so obviously it doesn't mean I don't like the show.

Chris H

Sometimes the problem with watching a show/movie multiple times is you start to notice some things that don't seem to make sense. In this case Translucent's explosion. His skin, being impenetrable, should have contained the explosion - so no shower of blood and guts. And if for some reason it could be exploded from the inside then shrapnel should have torn Hughie to pieces (to say nothing of skeletal shrapnel). So I Googled it and the producer admitted that they knew his skin should have contained it, but went with the blood shower anyway because it made a good visual, which while honest, is kind of a lame answer.

Richard Maurer

(like a British oy, like Butcher)

Joe Blankenship

I'm only 2 eps in on Wednesday, has she mentioned anything about watching The Addams Family movie from the 90s? Kinda wish she had watched that before watching Wednesday.

Joe Blankenship

when you finish wednesday, you should focus on the boys and do the last of us. 1 episode a week just a thought.

juan calderon

Finally got around to watching this and had a BLAST!! I'm super disappointed that this show's not getting watched a often as many of the others.. but at the same time, that just means that there's more to enjoy over a longer period of time. You win some, you lose some. :P This episode so much fun. :) The Boys is a wildy fun show to watch as long as you have a strong stomach that doesn't mind violence. I for one, really enjoy it!

Logan Kerlee
