The funny thing is that Homelander's speech in the last scene is parallel to Bush's speech post 9/11 in Ground Zero.

Butcher is from England and Urban is from New Zealand. Anthony Starr, who plays Homeland is also from New Zealand, so the leaders on the two sides of the conflict in this show are both played by Kiwis.

For reference this is The Seven lineup for the show (I think Transluscent replaced someone in the comics): 1) Homelander 2) Queen Maeve 3) A-Train 4) Black Noir 5) The Deep 6) Translucent [in the show] 7) Lamplighter, replaced by Starlight
