And it was never said that luke was the only Jedi in the galaxy. Obi-wan and Yoda were training him to be the start of a new generation of Jedi, that doesn't mean that there were no Jedi scattered around the galaxy.

Natalie hasn't reacted to She-Hulk, but she has seen Hawkeye and it seems clear Kingpin isn't exactly like the Netflix version. (I mean, he seems to have superpowers now.)

I've been role playing in the Star Wars Universe for over 25 years, Andor is the first time that I was really feeling like it was watching a Star Wars show and not a Jedi show.

I'd say anyone who wasn't changed by all that is a one dimensional character, but maybe that's what a lot of fans want? As for rest of your post some parts I agree with some I don't (the vespa gang (mods) were a misstep) but overall that would be quibbling. I found the series entertaining but certainly not great, you thought it was bad, to each his own.

I've said it before, If you don't really plan on doing something don't put it in a poll, and if you do put it in a poll and it wins, live up to your end of the bargain. To do anything else makes people question your honesty. I mean I'd would have been okay with her with saying "I'm going to have to space these out so it might take years to finish it, but it won the poll so I will eventually get it done.", Hell if she just came clean and said "look, I screwed up with that poll and I can't do it the way was worded, but as a compromise I'll watch DD s2 and put rest up to a vote." that would have been something. But to just completely flip it to where even DD season 2 has to win a poll was the wrong thing to do.

I'm just saying that, for me, it didn't really feel like "Star Wars", if that makes any sense. Even Rogue One had a some of that difference in tone, but not nearly as much as Andor. I just take her words at face value. The "watch in suggested viewing order" poll was a poorly designed poll, I agree. It's also silly to expect one poll in one month of 2022 to determine 2+ years of reaction content which is her job and clearly based on JJ's YouTube views would put her income at risk. Either way, like I said, if Luke Cage or Iron Fist actually win a head to head poll then I won't complain about her watching them. I just don't view that as a particularly likely outcome.

Some might call it a slow burn but I call it deliberate progression of a storyline. Everything that happens builds from the choices the characters make and the consequences of those choices. The exploration of how regular people become radicalized, for good or evil, is superb. The fact that there are no jedi, no lightsabers, no use or mention of the force, is a blessing. The Star Wars universe is massive and the Jedi were only a small portion of that. Luke Skywalker's shot to destroy the Death Star may have been "one in a million" but he only succeeded on the backs of many, many others who gave everything to get the Rebellion to that defining moment. Andor brilliantly shows you what kind of conditions and sacrifice was needed to even start a Rebellion.

Star Wars shouldn't just be one thing. Luke, Han, Leia, and the rest of the gang would not have succeeded without the Rebels. Their story deserves to be told. The people who died to save the universe isn't going to feel as fun. This wasn't as easy for them without help from the Force and you can't base all of Star Wars on the original trilogy. You need to expand if you want to thrive because we've seen that rehashing the same stories doesn't work. Andor is the War side of Star Wars. It absolutely belongs.

By that I mean it's almost too "deep" to have the feel of an actual Star Wars show. If you look at the original trilogy, which sets the tone for what SW is, It's basically a light-hearted space opera, with some underlying deeper themes, true, but not all that deep. This is not a knock at the OG trilogy, there's nothing wrong with being what it is. But when I was watching Andor I always had the feeling like I was watching something that was set in a slightly different part of the multiverse. (Spoiler Alert) there are no Jedi, no mention of the Force that I remember, few space battles or aliens. It just felt a little off to me.

While Andor might have some initial interest the first four episodes are going to be Natalie reacting mostly to people talking with a few bits of action here and there. Not exactly compelling reaction material. The only possible way that Andor might do better is there have been so few reactions to it. But I still think DD2 is more likely to do well.

I was lucky enough to be at the show premier here in London that was the first three shown in a cinema and I was buzzing by the end. Obi-Wan and Boba Fett were such a let down, you’d think both would be so easy to be successful before they were released… and Andor – *shrug*. But it is all down to Tony Gilroy – Rogue One and Andor creator. Anyways I’m singing Andor praises, which I think I watched all the way through 3-4 times now. DD is great, don’t get me wrong (I’m certainly nervous that they are gonna cock it up for the new version, I’ve so lost faith any any current MCU release), and it does lead into Punisher. Do both, just do Andor first… in threes.

If you want to pretend otherwise feel free. Before this poll, Daredevil season two lost two other polls. If Iron Fist or Luke Cage can actually win a stand alone poll against other actual shows, rather than a generic "watch in suggested viewing order" option, then Nat will watch them. You guys get mad because deep down you know that IF and LC will never win a stand alone poll.

Trust me it so isn’t. The show lets the characters evolve, which recent Star Wars shows arn’t doing, and then ramps up to the end of that ‘chapter’. Batches of three are the way to go (nope not gonna say THAT line). Also, not to be spoilerific – pay attention to the theme music… ;-)

Plus its a good show in its own right, and honestly how incredibly disrespectful to the creators is it to watch the whole of Live Action Star Wars, except for a specific handful of episodes of this show because some haters hated that it wasn't exactly what THEY wanted? And the haters can't even agree on which episodes qualify. Mando is in 3 of the 7 episodes, not 2. Just watch the show properly. As for Nat's choice, she could always run a poll on whether to watch all of it or only half of it.

I know Andor gets lot of high praise and some of it is quite good, but for me it's a slog and a half to get through the sloooooooowwww parts to the good stuff. I doubt I will revisit Obi-Wan or Andor again.

Boba Fett was just Temura Morrison having a good time and keeping none of the characteristics of an imperial bounty hunter or a silent badass from previous stories. Plus, the pacing and design of some characters/vehicles were fucking amateur; the mods looked awful and their shiny chrome vehicles and cringe acting shattered the suspension of disbelief, it was so bad. The highlight of their episode was a lukewarm 30 mph chase scene on Tatooine. They legit looked like bad Star Wars cosplayers but in actual Star Wars. The fact that it just departed from Boba Fett to a completely different story and suddenly became 10x as watchable is all that needs to be said, honestly. Out of all the recent Disney Star Wars stuff, only Obi-Wan is worse. I liked the train hijacking episode though, it was decent.

I admit that I wasn't sure about Andor after watching the first episode, I thought it was a bit slow, and I went a few weeks before watching the 2nd episode. But it's such a fantastic story.

Episode 7 goes back to been about Boba Fett but it does include Mando and answers a episodes 6's cliffhanger, the bulk of that episode does rely on build up from the first 4 episodes though but honestly your probably still fine.

I don't think Andor is the best anything, let alone SW IP. I like Daredevil and the Punisher as much as the next person. But doesn't mean Nat has to react to everything Marvel.

When you first put it on the spit, it's not terribly exciting. But slowly you begin to notice that it's starting to smell better and better. And when you get to the end, you're rewarded with tasty pork butt. (This analogy brought to you by a delightful mental health chemical cocktail.😁)

I think it would be fun for us to watch a show few of us have already watched, so we'd be having a first view at the same time you are. And I imagine not as many people have seen Peripheral - it's nowhere near as popular or promoted as a Star Wars show - though the premise seems cool. Any show that most of us haven't seen would work, though.

I have stopped caring about Star Wars and won't bother with any new SW shows or movies. Same goes for Marvel stuff for that matter. I'm most looking forward to Ted Lasso S3 because it feels like so much of our entertainment is dark and grim these days. Even the comedies where no one dies is just trying to be so EDGY. It's a bummer.

The short version of the plot is; a ex Marine, turned Hitman, named Barry (played by Bill Hader) is sent to Cali for a assassination job. Upon trying to take out his target he realizes he wants to take up acting. The acting classes he takes begin to conflict with his assassin work. With his two lives blending together, Barry has to decide which path he wants to continue down. Assassin or Actor? I know what you're thinking, "the plot doesn't sound like it works". Surprisingly it does. Barry is considered a dark comedy but it is full of suspense too, best of all its wrtitten, produced and acted out by Bill Hader. The show was nominated for 44 Emmys and won 9 of them. Bill Hader comes from a comedy background so he has the funny parts down, it's the dark side of Bill that I love in his acting Seeing as to how you talk about being a theater kid I would like your commentary on this show.
