Help me with this question!

Do I need to watch Puss in Boots 1 before Puss in Boots 2? I've seen a lot of requests to watch PIB: The Last Wish and would love to just watch it if it will make sense to me, but if it'd be better to watch PIB 1 first, I'd love to know that too.

Comments

Most people don't even remember what happened in PIB 1, you don't need to watch it to enjoy the sequel. Also, when is this dropping?

Ren

If you have a Redbox in your area, it’s even cheaper. They often have promotions for free rentals so you could watch it for free with a bit of legwork.

Aquilam_Auratum

Again look on YouTube. Reactions for those movies have been there for years.

Cwbebop

Makes sense

FateMalone

Sometimes Patreon screws up and doesn’t cooperate and she has to upload manually

Ben Wheeler

Gotta watch both in order LOL! Might regret if you skip and enjoy Last Wish. Just Saying

Alan Felicia

Anyone know if shes uploading a reaction today?

FateMalone

Let's not watch a series of horrible spinoff children's movies just to get to the meta gem of a movie that was forged from the embers of it's predecessors.

Gryff

I cringe whenever they make Antonio Banderas say "Holy Frejoles".

Mastervodo

I don’t think we need a deep dive into the PiBEU (Puss in Boots Extended Universe). Just the Last Wish is fine.

Byron

entire channels have been randomly strike and shut down due to that...that's why many reactors avoid them

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

Just looked up on YouTube and there are lots of reactions for Akira

Cwbebop

Hmm... I watched reactions for the ones on HBO max and Ghost in the Shell

Cwbebop

I watched it with out seeing rhe first puss in boots youll be fine

Rey

You've seen Shrek 2, it should be fine.

Troggdar

I saw Akira reaction without any problem.

Daniel Vezina

You'll be able to follow along if you skip Puss in Boots, but you'll be playing catchup with some of the character histories/development. It's best to watch both.

Jordan Malloy

Aside from puss there’s only 1 recurring character and the movie does a good job of giving her a proper introduction

Ksweets

What Guill said. Japanese animation is terrible content for reactors. Way too much legal red tape bullshit.

Cuttlefish

$5 actually. Just subscribe to Peacock for 5 bucks, then leave it when you're done.

Cuttlefish

okay so like, its not needed but definitely helps w some context - right before they give the exposition for said context - to watch the first two?

Zavooloo

no, they get copyright strikes almost instantly

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

Animated? How about some Japanese animation. Like Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Spirited Away, or Princess Mononoke

Cwbebop

Master and Commander, Far Side of the World.

Joshua Frydenlund

I see no reason not to see the first one first. It's just one movie, and a happy cartoon.

History Nuggets

Why?

Richard Maurer

$20? I'll sit this one out.

Myoclonic Jerk

I watched the last wish without seeing the other PIB movies and was able to follow along no problem. But I did have some questions about characters and my nephews told me they were from the other movies.

XadeChronos

I watched The Last Wish in theatres without even knowing there were 2 other movies. I followed the plot and some character's backstory just fine without the previous movies' context. I think you'd be fine just watching The Last Wish

kikoyito

Before PIB: the last wish, I had only ever watched the first Shrek movie about a decade ago and very much enjoyed it. There were probably plenty of easter eggs and references I missed but you don’t need them to enjoy the movie.

Aquilam_Auratum

I've got no idea.

Logan Kerlee

In the opinion of someone who watched the first one specifically to make sure that I was caught up for the second one, you do not need to watch the first one. There are a few moments, like a character introduction in the second movie were you may be like "oh, I guess I should have watched the first one" but the introduction was basically the same in the first one so it really didn't help

sammi

Re-watch Game Of Thrones.

Derek

Where is the "watch shrek 3 and 4 and the first puss n boots" option?

Eric Wallace

Marcel the shell with shoes on !!!!!!!!!!

Daniel Vezina

The first one is so good though!

John Rando

I accidently watched the first one thinking it was the new one. I don't think it's completely needed but it does introduce a character and gives so back story to one of the main ones in The Last Wish.

Dan Tydeman

I think you should watch the first for context, but I don’t think you should stream it, just have it in the background while doing something else, or watch a recap video on YouTube to get quick context. The movie was lame imo

Peter Moe

Both are really good but when I saw last wish I forgot about the first movie lol

Narutoanime16

I haven’t seen the first one so I’m bias lol. I didn’t feel lost at all watching TLW. Probably missed some cameo references from the first but that’s it.

Amanda Ray

I watched the sequel without remembering anything from the first one and still really enjoyed it.

Edward Shin

Damn I’m surprised y’all don’t want her to see the first one. It was so good!

Jenny Tolls

There's a ton of other stuff I'd prefer you watch than these so voted for just the second

Danishprince

PiB 2 please!!!!

George Baxter

You've been wanting to add more animation movies so why not both but it's not required to watch the first one unless you want to know more of the lore.

Frank Rosales

Just watch the last 20 minutes of the first one, similar to what some people suggest with Book Of Boba Fett.

Kev Martin

The first one isn't great but gives you backstories that are somehow needed for the second one. Also, it doesn't make sense people saying just watch the second one as they didn't watch the first one because they have no idea what the first movie showed

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

I've seen both. But honestly the first is rather forgettable, as I was able to enjoy the 2nd without remembering the 1st and still loved it.

Christian Fierro

I have seen both. Not a fan of the first one. Really boring but the sequel is great and you don't really need to see the first

RandomAndysChannel

Happy Sunday Nat.... I think you'd enjoy both, so I would suggest both in order.

Baggie Mark

I really enjoyed the first one. You don’t need to watch it, but you’ll have an enjoyable time regardless.

Final Fighter

First one is just a cash grab. The Last Wish actually has some passion put into it.

Daniel Amaral

I'm sure you can follow them no matter how you decide to do it. They can't be that long to hit up both though.

Philip Davetas

hey nat!! you don’t have to watch puss in boots 1 but it would help build a foundation for some characters ? if that makes sense! i jumped into puss in boots the last wish and enjoyed it :) hope this helps <3

ramzan

You do not NEED to they do great at summarizing the events etc.

devin flynn

Please don’t watch the first one

BobRooster

i didn’t watch the first one but watched the second and thought it was a masterpiece i think the context you have from the shrek movies is enough there’s one character from the first that returns but there’s enough context in last wish that you don’t really need to watch the first.

k8ie

I didn't see PIB1 and I enjoyed PIB2 just fine; there was just one moment where I got the sense "this was probably something from PIB1" but it didn't matter.

Gabriel L.

Nope ive never seen the OG and the TLW worked just fine for me
