Marvel and DC did this to each others' heros constantly, and then there are all the smaller independent companies that copied both Marvel and DC. There are just so many heroic archetypes to go around.

2023-04-11 04:08:08 +0000 UTCBatman was created decades before Daredevil but they both got a similar makeover by Frank Miller in the 80s. His dark and gritty versions have been very influential and guided both heroes for decades. That's why they feel quite similar at times, they were essentially reimagined by the same man. I think this season is interesting in it's structure. I quite enjoy the first 2/3rds of it and not only because of the Punisher. But eventually they start setting up some bigger events for the Defenders show and they miss the mark a little. But the quality of Daredevil is so high that them missing the mark is not that bad. It's probably still better than most superhero shows, even at it's worst.

2023-04-10 21:48:15 +0000 UTCPeople always talk about how the Marvel Netflix shows feel darker and more grounded than current marvel shows, which is true, but another thing they do so well is the colouring for pretty much every scene 😮💨 The yellow of the streetlights in the rain, the red of the boiler room where daredevil speaks to beck, the greenish glow through Matts apparent windows at night 🤤 it’s so vibrant and feels natural and adds so much to the tone

2023-04-10 21:02:19 +0000 UTCDaredevil was created by Stan Lee and was a pretty fun superhero swashbuckling type until Frank Miller came along and turned him into a much darker hero with darker storylines. Frank then went to write Batman and made him a much darker hero with one of the best batman stories The Dark Knight Returns because up until that point Batman was a pretty silly character along with robin. I think both of these changes to each character is why they're compared so often. Both with no kill rules, both orphans but they do have a lot different as well. Matt is catholic, Bruce is jewish and Bruce is a billionaire.

2023-04-10 20:12:42 +0000 UTCNat mentioned Batman/Daredevil comparison. Batman was created on 1930's and darevil I think was created on 1960's. But I see your point. Both have strong moral code. I think the difference is obviously that Batman has money and daredevil doesn't. :D IMO Daredevils moral codes comes from his faith and his dayjob as a lawyer. Batman doesn't kill because he doesn't anybody want to go through what he has gone through. I get the similarities though. :)
