I didn’t know this, but I heard apparently during the fight scene with the knives at the beginning, all the glass they were breaking was all CGI lol Also there are a couple spin offs coming out: a series that will be on Peacock this year in September, called “The Continental” about a young Winston in the 1970s. And a movie called “Ballerina”, coming 2024 with Ana De Armas, centering around a Ballerina from the Ruska Roma trying to avenge the death of her parents. John Wick, Winston, and Charron will all make an appearance in smaller roles, and I heard it takes place between John Wick 3 & 4.

"Para Bellum" is latin and means "Prepare for war" It's typically used in the phrase "Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum" which means "If you want peace, prepare for war" So, one can surmise that the them of the movie is fighting for his peace which actually makes perfect sense

Charles Semon

Neo: "Guns. Lots of guns."....John Wick: "Guns. Lots of Guns."🤣 I love that!!

Mark Samudio

“Every action movie of the last 10 years is a footnote to The Raid.” Let’s not get carried away, there are other action movies in the last 10 years that are similarly noteworthy. It is for sure one of the most influential and iconic action films of the 21st century tho.

@myles away there is a common movie trope: save the cat, and its opposite kicking the dog. both are used as a quick shorthand to quickly put the audience on the characters side or an instant villain. the literal ones are superman (1978) saving a cat out of a tree or mr. incredible doing the same. for the kicking there is patrick bateman in american psycho and paul dano in prisoners. however it doesn't literally have to be pets or animals. often they are replaced with innocents, kids or women.

Wu Sha Ling

Very awesome reaction by Nat, as always! Wick movies are just so entertaining especially to those who enjoy really good action sequence LOL!

Alan Felicia

Also remember and major Props for the Director of the Franchise, Chad Stahelski, he was a former Stuntman and Stunt Coordinator who worked with Keanu (and Laurence Fishbourne) on the Matrix movies. Fun Fact: Chad was the body & stunt double for Brandon Lee in the faithful movie, The Crow (for those old enough to remember).

Alan Felicia

Pig is brilliant. I thought I was getting into a John Wick ripoff and was pleasantly surprised by a beautiful and vulnerable film.

Myles Away

I think the first one works well as a movie. The emotional launching point of his dog getting killed is a great way to get us on his side as he murders a lot of people in a creative way. Then for every other movie (I haven't seen 4) it turned into a demo reel for stunt actors. Which when watched in a vacuum are really impressive. Amazing locations and great choreography. Perfect for YouTube highlights but as a movie it becomes exhausting.

Myles Away

Ok, I should have said "This one sucks for me." You enjoy whatever you like.

Myles Away

one of the most impressive visual effects scenes in the film because none of the breaking glass is real at all.

djKENTO

That knife fight in the first 20 minutes was my favorite part. It's just absolute chaos with knives and axes flying.

JQ

the 2 smaller guys fighting john is a classic masters facing off. people who have no other equal and demand a challenge for challenge's sake. they accept defeat when they are beaten. also kinda surprised you forgot about central park carriage rides. personally i don't think john wick are any good as movies, but they are outstanding stunt performances. i respect that keanu is so close with the stunt community and showcasing such impressive work

Wu Sha Ling

The guys he didn’t kill are from a movie called The Raid. Every action movie of the last 10 years is a footnote to The Raid. They’ve been on your channel before, Han Solo ripped them off in The Force Awakens. I think you would enjoy the Nicholas Cage movie Pig if you haven’t seen it. It is basically John Wick if they used emotional vulnerability and family trauma instead of weapons.

Jacob King

Never, ever write off nor underestimate a Malinois. Brilliant dogs and some of the sweetest dogs I've ever met and/or worked with, yet also the last thing I'd ever want to be on the bad/receiving end of. That breed is something else.

dooyaunastan

Love Nat not getting the bro code. Just guys being dudes. Would've done the same thing if I got to meet John Wick haha

kikoyito

I think the best part of the reaction today was when the murder puppies were just tearing people's limbs off, and she's smiling and saying "Good bois!"

Mastervodo

Fun fact: there were 5 Belgian Malinois used for this film, and because of the wide shots used Halle Berry had to be one of the trainers. So for 4 months on top of the training she was doing for the fight scenes, she was learning to be a trainer. And although she didn’t have the option to keep any of the dogs after the movie, she does now have her own trained attack Labradoodles.

Wild_Lee_Coyote

I can't wait to see ya react to the new show "Continental", based on Winston when that comes out.

Samuel Bruce

I agree, there all great but the 4th and the 1st are on a different level compared to the 3rd and 2nd.

Samuel Bruce

I don't mean to sound cheesy when I say this, but this was a gold star reaction! So entertaining even though I've seen every John Wick movie (except for John Wick 4) at least 7 times. Thanks Nat!

squeamish screaming Nat is my favorite Nat 🤣

Juan Colorado

You're just wrong buddy.

Connor Ellis

Oh I love that Lance Reddick’s character is named Charon who was the ferryman for Hades, bringing dead bodies to the afterlife. Great choice.

djKENTO

Kinda bummed that Nat never recognized Zero/sushi guy as The Chairman on Iron Chef.

djKENTO

the 4th is on par with the 1st

ISeeTrees ofGreen

I was literally shouting, "do you recognize him?" Lol

Walter Lopez

If you're talking about the one dancing on stage, that's "The Ballerina" aka Ana de Armas Character from the upcoming spin off movie.

Walter Lopez

As a librarian, I can't condone the actions of John Wick... Please don't put a book back on the shelf if it's covered in blood. We hate that,

Slick447

Loved this movie the most until I saw 4th one. .. The scene with him taking apart 3 revolvers and making his own out of the 3 guns was homage to the Good The Bad and The ugly in which Tuco does the same thing.

Squ33ky

I've got a new one, "Beef," number one series on Netflix, and, praise the Lord, no effing superheroes (Sorry, I can' t deal).

Jim Lent

I’m surprised Nat didn’t recognize Ser Bronn of the Blackwater 😄

Ben Wheeler

the end fight scene with the 2 students shouldve been cut, they were so late on their stunts and mistiming was really bad. Overall loved the film cant wait for 4!

Simon Bauer

This one sucks. It has lost its charm and just feels exhausting.

Myles Away

I theorize that the first ballerina is the daughter of Sofia.

SilentBobFather

I definitely feel like some of the action sequences drag on a little TOO long in this one 😅

Daniel McGuinness

Fun Fact: John Wick kills a lot people, like a lot. Lol

Walter Lopez

This one was alright but I don't like this as much as the first. It's alright though, I enjoyed the first more than the second as well. I don't believe that Wick was slow in this, I just feel that he was injured throughout and less able to move/react quickly. The next movie's pretty great though, I'm looking forward to watching that with you in the future. :)

Logan Kerlee

I have not seen the fourth movie yet, so this is the best of the three that I've seen. The lore they have created with the assassin business is so good. RIP Lance Riddick

larshans

I can't wait to check this out tonight! I'd been holding off on watching it until you'd gotten around to it. (Which wasn't too hard, as I hadn't seen the second one until your watchalong.)

Troy B.

Damn, girl, I hope your life gets more chill.

Ivari Tölp

RIP Lance Riddick
