It's time for the season finale of Daredevil! What a fun ride it's been with all of these characters!
Just a heads up, around 17 min in, my camera glitched. You don't need to do anything no your end as we stitched together two different reaction files so you could keep your episode synced. But just in case you notice the green/blue flash, that's a tech issue on my end :) Oh the joys of filming on a laptop haha.

You can skip all the other shows, but if you want to see what happens with the Hand, and if you want to see what happens with Elektra, and if you want to see Matt Murdock and Jessica Jones meet face to face, and if you like Sigourney Weaver, and if you want to know why you can't watch Daredevil season 3 without watching the Defenders first, and season 3 is crazy, and if you want to see that Karen background story you mentioned a couple times, then all you need to do is watch the 8 episodes of the Defenders and then Daredevil season 3, no other shows necessary, then you can be finished with the Netflix Marvel shows if you want, unless you want to watch the rest of Jessica Jones or The Punisher (and yes his story from this season ain't over) which is totally optional, just more good stories if you like those characters. I am through talking about these shows, just hope you watch them some day, moving on to Stranger Things, The Boys and Game of Thrones, that's gonna take a while :)

2023-06-10 17:26:21 +0000 UTCPunisher S1 is good, after that imo marvel becomes less impactful. Jon Bernthal is a good actor and S1 fleshes out Franks complexity and dabbles in mental health. This came out a bit after his role in The Walking Dead, before he started popping up all over the place.

I would read the shortest synopsis you can find then move into Daredevil S3. Also, if you really like Frank Castle, I'd say go ahead and give Punisher S1 a shot, but you could probably skip out on S2. It's not bad but if you're looking to move past these Marvel Netflix shows its probably not worth hanging around for.

2023-06-01 05:19:24 +0000 UTCJust to ad on — the Elektra/Hand story continues most directly in The Defenders, so I'd recommend watching that before DD season 3. (One benefit is that it's a much shorter show.) I wouldn't worry about the other series (Luke Cage, Iron Fist) unless you're really invested. The Punisher is worth watching — but that's its own separate storyline. (I also enjoyed Jessica Jones, but mostly because I love Kristen Ritter in the role.) But would definitely say you've earned a break. And I'd absolutely be on board with ted Lasso S3, just to have something a lot less dark (though no less emotionally impactful).

The first episode of S3 is the only one that directly relates to defenders, but as long as you're ok with going into it with a "ok so ______ is a thing that happened" mentality, you should be fine. You could also just watch defenders on your own time so you don't have to deal with the time required to make content out of it. Watching S3 without defenders could even be a guessing game of trying to piece together what happened and why lol The punisher, luke cage, and iron fist are truly not necessary for S3, or defenders. Defenders introduces the characters/they personalities/their abilities individually and also when they're introduced to each other, so LC and IF are not needed (and the punisher does not show up in defenders (not saying if he shows up in DD S3)

I'd at most just watch a quick recap of Defenders and then go straight into S3 Daredevil. That season is a must. Even if you have to go in without the Defenders recap. The recap is really just for episode 1 of S3 Daredevil.

2023-05-31 07:59:11 +0000 UTCFrom someone that just watched all of Daredevil and season 1 of Jessica Jones, there really is no need to watch anything else in order to watch season 3 of Daredevil. Besides some confusion in episode 1 of season 3 the rest was perfectly fine to understand. From what I've heard the only other show that is a quality watch is The Punisher. And I've only heard that Iron Fist is pretty bad so I don't know about that one. But whatever you decide in the future is a-okay.

2023-05-31 06:07:22 +0000 UTCYeah, reflecting what some have said here and what I feel are the two directions that you could go are, I think if you want to focus on only Daredevil's story (when you continue watching these shows) you should watch the Defenders miniseries first and then Daredevil season 3. But if you want to know more about The Hand, watch Iron Fist season 1 then Defenders then Iron Fist season 2 and then Daredevil season 3. Yes the writing and fight scenes are just really badly done in Iron Fist season 1, but if you can push through that, it'll just help with The Hand context for Defenders. Until then, I'm happy you're starting Korra!

2023-05-31 05:47:34 +0000 UTCHi Nat, glad you enjoyed the season I originally thought the draining kids of their blood Anthony segment would be too much for you as they nearly were too much for me glad you got to finish the season as far as the other shows it's up to you what to watch. I watched them all and they are all enjoyable but they don't all work as successfully as daredevil. He was handled the best,then Jessica jones,then Luke cage, then iron fist imo. I enjoyed them all and the defenders team up was pretty good too. But that's a lot to watch through and I'm not sure the payoff is worth it. As far as stand alone series go I would suggest giving Luke cage a try. It was very well done

Doesn't matter if you spread it on 2 years there's no rush those show aren't going anywhere. But in my opinion you should watch them.

2023-05-30 23:39:02 +0000 UTCI’m just going to pop in and say that since I’m sure you won’t be watching Iron Fist, I feel pretty certain that you would have loved the character of Ward in season 2 of Iron Fist, knowing how much you appreciate the journey through the dark forest. I personally really liked Luke Cage, so although the consensus here seems to be Defenders + DD3, don’t discount it entirely if you’ve got room in the schedule.

I'd love for you to watch everything, I'd stick around for it, but at the same time, watch DD 3 "blind" without even a recap. See if the television people managed to tell a story that DOESN'T require the team-up spinoff. I suspect it works, actually. Hell, that way around, your POV will be unique. Watching everything is easy. All the other react people have (or will) seen Defenders and Iron Fist. Be different. If you want to. And somewhere down the line put Punisher on a poll, purely because Bernthal is amazing in it. Oh, come to think of it, you ever seen the 2 Punisher movies? Recently passed Ray Stevenson did one (Warzone), and ... Thomas Jane? the other one. That one's with Travolta, too. Just in case you're curious. See ya for Korra! Luke Cage was really fun...Iron first not so much but you may have fun with it. And you definitely need to see the Defenders before Daredevil season 3. And the Punisher has one too but you can watch that one anytime. His is kind of him off doing his own thing.

I think Luke Cage is definitely worth watching, and I even enjoyed Iron Fist, to a degree. But you've already met Luke, so if you want to have someone do a quick Iron Fist recap just explaining who he is and so forth, you can watch The Defenders without being too confused. I also recommend The Punisher, which splits away from the others into its own thing, although some of the characters we know show up in it.

To this day I still haven't sat through more than 2 episodes of Iron Fist, and while Luke Cage is great, it's not necessary to get the rest of the story for Daredevil or even Defenders; you got enough of his backstory with Jessica Jones to enjoy it, and everything important about Iron Fist they talk about in the Defenders. No need to struggle through that one *chuckles

I hope you do watch Defenders and Season 3. I'll echo other comments that the other shows aren't necessary viewing. Now that you've seen a good version of the Elektra storyline, I also hope you consider watching the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie for your bad movie picks.

2023-05-30 18:11:03 +0000 UTCThe Defenders is pretty much Daredevil season 2.5 honestly, the same way Civil war is more of an avengers movie than a Cap movie. The story is heavily Matt/Elektra centric but with more fun superhero teamups, and the the events of that show heavily influence Matts character going into Daredevil S3 (which is probably one of the best superhero shows out there, and a big part of that is Matts character growth which I feel like you can only fully appreciate if you’ve seen his entire journey) so my take is you should watch The Defenders before S3 👉🏻👈🏻 The story is decent and Matt & Jessica have some fun moments - plus there’s a surprise actor in it that I feel like you’d appreciate 👀😂

If you are curious as to the relationship with Karen and Punisher - Season 1 of Punisher. If you are curious as to the Matt/Karen story arc - Season 3 of Daredevil. You can absolutely skip the Iron Fist season. The 1st season of Luke Cage is good, very good - but not necessary. And continue absolutely ignoring She-Hulk and Ms Marvel.

You can skip the defenders but you will need to see a recap video of the defenders so you know what going on at the beginning of season 3 of Daredevil. I do hope you watch season 3 of Daredevil because it is the best season of Daredevil and I rather you do the second option and skip the defenders if it means watching S3 faster

All you get from the other series is the backstory of some of the characters that show up in The Defenders. Also, Punisher series is stand-alone so following the rest of his story is quite straightforward.

I thought Karen had figured it out when she heard Matt's voice when he rescued her, so it was all a bit anti-climactic. They just had to bring Elektra back from the dead. You can't keep a good hot woman down 😂 This season was certainly a lot messier than the first, but the characters were a lot more interesting, and I enjoyed watching it with you Nat.
