Then what martial art move did Tarlok use to bloodbend while his entire body was completely bound and immobile?! Obviously 90% of the bending in S1 of Korra is still based in martial arts. It's the bloodbending flashback I have objections to.

2023-07-09 08:35:53 +0000 UTCbending is still tied to martial arts in korra. benders have evolved to were they dont use outdated fighting styles that are to slow anymore. bolin taught korra the basics of a new earth bending style in ep 2. to call them vibes is underselling friend.

2023-07-09 08:11:50 +0000 UTCYeah, the reveal of Bloodbending and Tarlok being evil work well, but one of the things that I always loved about Avatar was how tied to martial arts bending was and it's...not here? The Bloodbending isn't Waterbending, just vibes. BUT yes I do really like that LOK breaks away from "Fire = bad, everything else = good" (mostly). As someone whose element is water, the dark side of Waterbenders/the Water Tribe always fascinated me.
