I remember when I first watched this, going mental as I saw Pep Guardiola in the show. He's widely regarded as being one of the best football managers of all time, so to see him not just have a cameo, but an actual speaking role, was a sight. This show has had so many real characters from the sport, and so many Inspirations beyond that, it's partly why I've loved it so much

i haven't seen this episodie... yet and yet I imagine you as the worst

You've got to see You've Got Mail!!! It rules hard! And hard yet respectful disagree with Ted Lasso - You've Got Mail > Sleepless In Seattle

Eric Brown

This was a great episode. Great catch Natalie on the wizard of oz references. The writers are so good at sneaking little things like that in there. The big blue moon, aside from being Man City’s song, was also a reference to the episode where Coach Beard went wandering all over town just like Jamie, though that’s where the similarities end lol. But it’s a reminder of Beards struggles before his moment with Nate later. Jamie losing his motivation because he no longer cared what his dad thought and having to find it again made me immediately think of Prince Zuko losing his firebending and having to do the dragon dance with aang. I’m sure the writers weren’t thinking of that but I couldn’t help make that connection watching your Ted lasso and LoK reactions back to back lol. This episode really showed how much Ted and Jamie’s relationship has improved since season one. They completely respect and listen to each other now. Ted’s speech about forgiveness was beautiful, and I loved that Ted took Jamie’s “fuck you and thank you” speech to his mom and she brought it home with “thank you and just thank you”. Classic rule of threes right there. I also love that Jamie’s father is in rehab and this show takes the high road by showing anyone can choose to change and do better instead of just making him a villain the whole show. Honestly it’s really kind of amazing how many storylines they were able to pack into one episode without rushing anything or making it it feel like too much.

People like me? What’s that supposed to mean?

Sonny Smith

Except it isn't. People like you can't even define "Woke".

Michael Rockenfelder

It is what it is. Woke gets overused, but in this case it’s accurate.

Sonny Smith

You unironically used the word "woke". In case you're wondering why no one will take your opinion very seriously

Nathan Steele

No, it wasn't, the first season still had the woke nonsense, but it was delivered in a much more subtle way intended to keep the audience invested, delivering the message not from atop a soapbox, bullhorn in hand. Over time its devolved into heavy-handed lines like "Is this a game or child-labor" "Is there any difference in late-stage capitalism" I'm lucky I didn't get whiplash from my eyes rolling so hard. Its like, look around you and have some self-awareness, professional sports as they are now is the house late-stage capitalism built. There were spots in Season 2, but Season 3 has been a hardcore cringe-fest, its like the writers just dropped all pretense.

Sonny Smith

there was no veering. it always was like this. The only difference is now theres more cause we are closing up. You always have the option to not continue watching it.

oscar latorre

Almost everything I’ve seen so far in season 3, but I think it started veering that direction sometime in Season 2, hence the question.

Sonny Smith

which part was preachy and insufferable to you?

Cubonemaker

Yeah, that and French Kiss are probably Top Tier Meg Ryan movies

Tryxanel

I bet you thought that was clever.

Sonny Smith

Jamie’s mom is just the British working-class equivalent of a mama bear! The string vest was the cherry on top 😭 that’s how you know she’s a baddie!

Season 3, Episode 13

Blake Gorf

Can anyone pinpoint when this show went from heartfelt and entertaining to preachy and insufferable?

Sonny Smith

I've seen this episode several times and it still hits me in the feels every time.

This was my favorite episode of this season! Forgiveness storylines make me weep. The Beard/Nate scene was beautiful. And so was Ted's talk with his mom. I'm kinda surprised Nat didn't cry this episode! Must have been in too good of a mood looking forward to the desert. I hope the break helps with the stress you've been feeling, Nat. Your channel is doing so well, and you deserve to enjoy some quality time for all the hard work you've put in. (Only 7K left to go to 400k yt subs!)

Mae recited This Be The Verse by Philip Larkin. Credited at the end.

Dene Benham

Not gonna lie, Nat, it hurt me a little to hear a Syracuse alum saying they don't like the orange kits.

Jeff K

Now we have to watch You've Got Mail 😁

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

I’m still not over the loss of this show and these characters 😭🫶🏼 I know there’s talks of spin-offs, and I’d love to see it, but this show’s been such a breath of fresh air it’s gonna be missed 🫡 I know we’re already in the middle of an animated show, but I gotta recommend Star Wars: The Clone Wars as another show for the list 🙏🏻😮‍💨 Action-packed, character driven, emotionally manipulating masterpiece of a show! It doesn’t have to be the next show you watch but it’s definitely worth a look 💛

Daniel McGuinness

Happy lasso Thursday nat so close to the end now sad times 😔 this series I rate as your best reactions on any show I've loved every single one so it will be a sad day when we are done but we ain't there yet so let's grab a drink grab a snack and enjoy another episode 🙂

Ian

It says season finale. They have confirmed its the end of Ted's story buy not the series. Rumors of an afc richmond and richmond women's team spin offs and coach Beards actor has said they haven't decided if it the end.

Ethan Chadwick

Happy Ted Thursday Nat. Going to be sad when we watch the final episode, but we've still got this one to keep us going until then 😊 Aw man, that was such a beautiful episode. I'm going to say it again, but this season has got better with each show. Just so many great moments today, and I enjoyed watching along with you. Thanks Nat 💛
