A bit late to the party but i really think Buffy is worth the watch! Some amazing television has come out of that show

Richard - Yeah I'm in the same boat, I dislike LoK after season 1 and can't stand Ted Lasso. Thankfully those are comparatively short - LoK seems on track for ~6months to get through. putting a show in a single poll that would take Nat three years to work through is insane. Again, what does that mean? Just because she worked in the industry doesn't mean she should must watch Barry. In fact that makes me less interested than I already was in her seeing Barry. It's just be Nat making a bunch of comments on how accurate, or inaccurate, the show is. I try not to be a bummer, but I really dislike Steven Moffat as a writer. He thinks he’s the most clever person in the room when he’s anything but. His interpretation of Sherlock is rooted in bad writing and cheating the solution to nearly every problem. I hope you like it, maybe a new perspective can help me see something good in it.

I think watched the first two seasons in two days, told my sister she had to check it out and she watched them both that day/night lol and was obsessed with it. I love a BBC show.

I do think you would love Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It came out when I was 29 and I started watching it then. I fell in love with the writing and enjoyed the characters so much that I looked forward to Monday night TV. I think it would only take you 3 years at one episode per week but you could always do just season 1 to make sure you like it and want to continue. Looks like Sandman is tied for last place, bummer.

She's getting through LoK at a snails pace. She watched 4 episodes a week of ATLA, 2/week for LoK is taking forever. The issue with super long shows like Buffy is ostensibly they only have to win one poll, and then dominate the schedule for potentially years. Watching more, shorter shows during the same time frame gives room for way more polls and for a lot more people to get a show they want to be seen.

That can be said for any show. There’s always a possibly “better” show. She asked for our opinions so I gave mine. And we don’t know how long it would take because that would depend on the schedule. She’s getting through LOK pretty quick and that’s not a short show albeit a different runtime. That being said for this particular poll. I do hope Barry wins.

Yeah I didn't want to say it in my original post but I will now: It's one of the greatest shows of the last 30 years. And it's a damn shame that it didn't win a million awards. It just came along at the wrong time. At the end of Breaking Bad and Mad Men, in the middle of Game of Thrones, at the start of Handmaid's Tale... Along with other buzzy shows that everyone talked about, crowding it out of the conversation. But at least it won a Peabody and an acting Emmy at the end. But it deserves so much more attention, seriously. One of the few shows that is utterly top tier from beginning to end.

Barry is literally perfect for Nat. I mean she’s worked in the industry that much of the show is about. Don’t come for me but I think Sherlock is easily the most overrated show of all time. It only has a couple good episodes and Benedict carries the rest. Not to mention it’s extremely hard to watch in the US without buying all the episodes

Sherlock all day! Having to buy ($15 per season) is a downside however, it is one of best shows I've come across. Amazing actors/actresses, character dev, plot, cinematography, etc. Well worth the price imo or 🏴‍☠️ 😏.

Angel isn’t until season 4 though, so it’s usually either easy by that point because they’re hooked, or the series isn’t for them. I think normies are halfway through now and it’s supposedly their favorite series(that they’re currently reacting to…don’t know about all time).

Buffy is probably less consistent between each episode than most of these shows, but it’s also more iconic, influential, and probably better overall than any of them too. Easily one of my favourite shows, and I very much hope you do end up watching it soon. Hoping Barry wins this one so I have an excuse to catch up on it, but Sherlock would be fun too, even if its quality falls off massively in the last season.

Dude that’s how voting works. It’s been at least 3-4 polls and it always comes in 3rd place. She might get to it eventually but it’s not “the will of the people” so it isn’t going to take up a slot. There are a lot of amazing shows that I would love Nat to watch (The Wire, The Sopranos, Justified, etc.) and she is never going to see them, cuz they’ll never win a poll. I’m not going to pout about it. If she stops watching content I want to watch, then I would quietly unsub and wish her and her patrons well. That’s what adults do.
