You wonder why Sherlock doesn't need to sleep, because his high on cocaine/Methamphetamine . Elementary did a pretty good arc on the subject.

2023-12-06 03:44:24 +0000 UTCI had to watch this one almost twice. Zoned out halfway through and had to restart it the next day. It's definitely the least interesting Sherlock episode, honestly. Not bad, but pretty disposable. Compared to all other episodes. It doesn't really move anything forward. It's just simply another Sherlock Holmes adventure. Anyway, enough negativity. Decent episode, but sort of ho hum. From here, the show gets much much better. And there's definitely some episodes later on that I'm not sure that I agree with. But they are nonetheless doing something bold. You're definitely in for a lot of fun. The next one is a real firecracker.

Its not unheard of for a lot of people to freeze with fear in certain situations. You seemed pretty annoyed at Sarah for not making the supposed very easy and simple choice to try and move out the way while tied to chair, gagged and an deadly arrow pointed at her in a dark tunnel surrounded by people she has no idea who they are or why they want to kill her. Yes perfectly reasonable response to freeze and freak out dont you think? I was annoyed that you were annoyed at her tbh, but fun reaction and fun episode :) Btw "M" on the computer was Moriarty. We heard his name mentioned at the end of the first episode. The show wants you know know that it was him she was talking to so its not a spoiler.

2023-09-22 13:14:44 +0000 UTCThe weird blurry transitions are a style of photography called "tilt-shift". Blurring the top and bottom of the image simulates a lens with a very shallow focal length, and it makes the in-focus portion of the image look like a miniature scene.

2023-09-21 21:25:16 +0000 UTCThis is one of the weaker episodes, but it's still entertaining. It pulls elements from a bunch of different Doyle stories. Fun fact: the secretary was played by Benedict Cumberbatch's girlfriend, although I don't know if they're still together. The place you thought might be Picadilly Circus was Trafalgar Square. They were climbing the steps of the National Gallery. You were surprised to see that Sherlock can fight, and that is true to the stories. Holmes was said to be a boxer and swordsman and also skilled at single stick (a rather generic martial arts term) and "baritsu" which is an Asian martial arts name made up by Doyle. He's also an excellent shot. I really like the next episode for a number of reasons. Looking forward to it!

You can do this digitally now, but traditionally it was done by 'tilting' and 'shifting' the lens, so it made the foreground and the far background blurry. When you do this on landscape and urban shots, it makes it look like you are shooting models or miniatures. Because we are used to interpreting shallow depths of fields with really close-in, macro photography

So many cliches. 🙄 Regarding the lotus motif you seem to be dealing with, I enthusiastically recommend The White Lotus on HBO. It's a great anthology series. Brilliant actors, including Murray Bartlett in a very different role from Frank in The Last of Us. So much fun!

2023-09-21 17:34:55 +0000 UTCWhile I do think the show is pretty up and down in general (and I said last week, I love this show but can admit some episodes are… bad), it’s not exactly a hot take to say that the leads are amazing. Martin Freeman was obviously already known, but it’s blatantly obvious early on why Cumberbatch became a superstar starting with this role. He’s just so good, even when the material isn’t always the best. And their chemistry is just off the charts.

When you jumped out of your skin when the house keeper appeared 😂 Definitely preparing you for the Natmare season. Those stylized focus camera shots are used quite a lot in shows here in the UK. If you look at the part of the frame that's in focus, it looks like it's all in miniature. It's quite a cool effect. Thanks for a great video today 💛
