Yeah, don't put yourself down like at the end of the last one. You are very sharp with your instincts. You don't catch everything right away, no one I know does, nor myself.

Silver Aeterna

Happy birthday, you look gorgeous. Brotherhood of the Wolf, that story expended.

Daniel Vezina

There are multiple scenes in the first season where they got paid. The Banker case gave him a down payment and Watson collected the full check after at the end. Also they got another check that the Chinese lady found in his jacket that made her think Watson was Holmes because it was made out to Sherlock. I think after than you can assumed they get paid off-camera. I don't know why this is a thorn in your brain in these episodes.

Jack Burton

We say "mobile" number, rather than "cell". To be fair the series plays on a number of British common knowledge - in the previous episode 3 dogs was synonymous with the Queen.

James Battersby

"I know Southern Ireland is part of the UK." Those are fighting words, Natalie πŸ˜†. Northern Ireland is part of the UK. Ireland is it's own country.

Kevin Farrell

Glad to hear that you have had such a good weekend! Happy belated birthday and I hope you will continue to have amazing experiences throughout your life that might raise the bar of most fun weekend ever :D

People keep saying this is the weakest episode but honestly this is probably my favourite because it’s so FUN πŸ˜‚ Felt like a good ol’ fashioned mystery, murder on the moors, American werewolf in London type of thing - perfect for spooky season it’s true! It may not be as layered as the other episodes (I didn’t really get the last episode until the last 15 minutes πŸ˜…) but I was entertained pretty much all the way through it h

I checked The Complete Sherlock Holmes out of my high school library and read the whole thing over spring break. Valley of Fear is a good one, although it's one with a less satisfying ending.

Welcome to age 30! Renew, renew! (On a related note, Logan's Run is a sci-fi movie you should check out. A bit related. *wink*) And yeah, this episode is based on a classic Sherlock novel, The Hound of the Baskervilles. In fact, a number of this show's episodes are based on Sherlock Holmes novels, some in terms of plot, some just a reference to a title: A Study in Pink -> A Study in Scarlet (the first Sherlock Holmes novel) A Scandal in Belgravia -> A Scandal in Bohemia The Sign of Three -> The Sign of the Four There's a few others, but mild spoilers. So I shant saying anything further.

Nicholas Sulikowski

Natalie, my favorite part of your reaction to this episode is when you quoted Lion Kings Mufasa talking to his son about "everywhere the light touches is the kingdom, except the shadowy place" but instead you gave Mufasa a peppy city girl British accent and it made me laugh for like 5 min straight.

LightsCameraJake

I haven't read many Sherlock stories, but Baskerville is definitely one of the ones because, as you say, it's the most famous story ACD wrote with the character (though, for some reason, The Valley of Fear has always been my favorite).

I'm ashamed, you're not gonna watch a Friday, the 13th movie on Friday the 13th nat πŸ’€πŸ˜

Um.... has anyone suggested it yet..... The Great Mouse Detective NEEDS to be on a poll now! xD

Welcome to the 30s Nat! It's all downhill from here πŸ˜‚. Nah, it's not so bad. Just more back pain really. I always remember this being my least favorite episode of the series, but it has been long enough that I'm hoping to have a fresh take on it. Glad you're enjoying the show!

Slick447

Enjoyed today's episode for sure! Whole lot of fun. Just before began watching this, I was busy watching the second half of It. hahaha, was watching a reaction to the movie, so I was well prepared for all things freaky. :P I'd also already watched this episode years ago so it wasn't anything new. Glad that you enjoyed the episode despite the freak out moments. :)

This is the weakest episode of Season 2, imo, but given that the other two are absolutely brilliant, that's not much of a dig. The Hound of the Baskervilles was definitely Doyle's most famous story. In the original, the Baskervilles are a prominent family in Dartmoor and there is supposedly a family curse involving a huge, demonic hound. Sir Charles Baskerville was found dead on the grounds of the estate with a look of horror on his face, and around his body were "the footprints of a gigantic hound." The client was the new heir, Sir Henry Baskerville, come back from Canada to claim the title because Charles had died childless. In the original, the villain was Jack Stapleton, not Frankland. He was actually a Baskerville relation and had killed Charles by training a huge black hound (rubbed with phosphorous so it would appear to glow) to attack. But Charles had a weak heart and died of fear before the hound reached him. His plan was to use the hound to kill Henry and then claim the title and fortune. The hound chased Henry but Holmes & Watson were there with their revolvers and shot it dead. Stapleton tried to escape by running into Grimpen Mire, which was a dangerous area filled with quickmud, and he drowned. Can't wait for the next one!

15 minutes into your reaction and I'm reminded why I love your reactions. Your dorky humour is the best 😊 Also Happy belated Birthday! πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚πŸŽπŸŽˆ

Hi Nat, just to clarify that Sherlock Holmes is a classic book series from the 1800's, and Hounds of the Baskervils is one of the most famous books in the series.. hope you had a great birthday week..

Baggie Mark

Great ep for this time of year. Not my fav Sherlock ep, but BC’s performance in front of the fire place while drugged, is perfection.

Bryan Erickson

Been a while since I read hound of the Baskerville's, but I believe Holmes pretending he wouldn't go is a shout-out to the book Holmes said he was too busy to go and sent John down in his stead. And then later turned up in disguise

Happy Thursday Nat. It's always very spooky how you manage to time particular tv episodes to the time of year he he πŸ˜€ This one is a twist on probably Sherlock Holmes' most famous story. You certainly packed a lot into your awesome birthday weekend Nat πŸ€— No therapists were harmed in the making of this reaction (well hopefully πŸ˜€) So many different Sherlock Holmes movies and tv shows have told this story, usually in the way the book tells it, so this show's approach was very different using science and genetics. It was a fun and modern way to do the story. The phrase "I've got to see a man about a dog" is a common excuse used here when you want to slip away to the toilet πŸ˜„ Really enjoyed your reaction today Nat πŸ’›
