FIRST TIME WATCHING: Ocean's 11!!

Happy Feature Friday Folks!

This one was so much fun and captivating! Truly had a blast with this.

Apologies in advance for the few ad interruptions while watching this. I chose to watch it with an AMC free trial on Amazon and didn't realize that would come with a few commercial breaks. I did my best to communicate each time they begin and end. I'm so sorry if this makes your viewing experience more difficult. I will try to avoid this happening in the future.

As always, thank you so much for your support here on Patreon. Until the next one, take care and stay golden.

I will also chime in on watching the rest of the Ocean's movies. 12 is not as good, but the vibes are still pretty strong. 13 is totally back to form and is great. I enjoyed 8 as well. I would also recommend the original Ocean's 11 that started Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, as you could tell everyone there was also having a good time. Not nearly as well done as this one, but a lot of fun and maybe just a good off camera watch.

David Lonewolf Wright

Finally got to watching your reaction ^^ I was waiting for the Ocean's films to land on a streaming service, and they just dropped on Max. So, hopefully you watch the other Ocean's movies too now that they're back on streaming!

Daniel Drew

For an alternative source of really great Sandra Bullock, check out Gravity (2013).

Erik Stevenson

Just watched this. If you like Brad Pitt and George Clooney, you should check out the Coen bros. 2008 comedy Burn After Reading. Similarly to The Big Lebowski, it was not particularly well received upon release as it was a silly comedy following one of their major Oscar winning films, but over the years it has gained a fanbase of its own. I would consider it one of the best comedy films ever made, and it features my favourite Brad Pitt performance.

Razor Bikini

All 4 of these movies are great. I hope you continue with them.

Julie Lyles

I'd say watch all 4 of the films. Oceans 8 had a bit of a different vibe, but was still a really fun film. Plus I'd never pass up a chance to see Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, Helena Bonham Carter, etc on screen together!

Richard Rolen

Definitely finish the trilogy, Nat! Would love to watch the others along with you

Sean Irvin

It’s almost a drinking game

Jason Dolan

Same thing with the 9-1-1 operator. I think it's just because, on your first watch-through, you're so caught up in the moment like Nat is - trying to figure out what's the con and what's real, how they're going to escape, etc - and you don't pay too much attention to what you reasonably expect to be happening.

Sean Irvin

I kept cracking up every time Nat brought Sandra up, thinking to myself, "She ain't comin', hon!" XD

Sean Irvin

Sandra is in the most recent version - Ocean's 8. This is a fantastic, watch-it-over-and-over kind of movie. Nice job.

Dave Gross

I'm sure Nat is getting into some Holiday movies around now. While I haven't seen a poll yet for Nat, Mary, Ashleigh or Cassie I really need to get some help adding 'Anna and the Apocalypse' added to a Poll. We've never seen Nat watch a Christmas, Zombie, Musical before... and I think She needs to be the first. It's the perfect movie the start the season. A light-hearted comedy that hits the feels and has a few great music numbers. I was going to say this would be a great collab movie with Ashleigh since she's into Musicals but I'm just trying to get a great movie onto a Poll that is a Poll yet. Thanks in advance. <3

Powers209

Great movie Nat glad we got to watch it with you I had the movie on a subscription but it had commercials and it was a nightmare synching with both our commercials, but the movie was worth it. I Think I prefer 12 but the original was a work of art too

Athenor

That's why I use Radarr/Plex

Thomas Richter

Ocean's twelve through twenty tree to go.

Thomas Richter

Sandra Bullock is in Ocean's 8. I think Google just got confused

Lisa Tosti

Since you liked this one: Out of Sight, is another Soderbergh directed staring Clooney and another stacked cast.

Taff Lewis

It still has commercials even if you own amc+ so don’t sweat it. No idea what that’s about though.

Dustin

I must have missed something, please explain.

Bob Hanflig

For more Sandra Bullock you should definitely watch Speed with Keanu Reeves and Jeff Daniels!

Daniel Andersen

I knew you'd love this movie. You should definitely complete the trilogy, I wouldn't bother with the soft reboot though.

Jeff Clark

Really enjoyed the reaction, despite the ad breaks. Really hoping that we can avoid those in the future.

Logan Kerlee

GRAVITY!!!!

Mark Samudio

Such a classic. You should definitely check out Ocean's 12, if none of the others. It's just as good, just as fun.

Shannon Turner

The commercial breaks didn't bother me too much. I'm pretty good at re-syncing. This is just a very fun, lighthearted movie. Keep up the good work πŸ‘

Green Nolan

I loved watching you get sucked in by Saul’s method acting, Carl Reiner is the absolute best. The trick with this franchise is everything is a con All the Ocean’s movies are fun. I would strongly recommend Out of Sight (1998) also by Soderbergh and staring George Clooney (with Don Cheadle). It’s a heist/romance with Clooney and Jennifer Lopez and the dialogue and chemistry between Lopez and Clooney is unmatched. Two scenes in particular, yikes. Another Soderbergh heist movie more people should see is Logan Lucky (2017) which is pure joy from start to finish but mostly when Daniel Craig does his Southern accent.

Jacob King

awesome reaction! glad you enjoyed this! congrats on the predictions you DID get right. but it's so much fun watching someone who's so sure that they know how this is going and the old "Switch-a-rue" happens and you fall for it. These make for the best reactions! and the adds didn't bother me too much. sorta kept me on my toes. hope you watch the rest.

Mister Lou

I love this movie, but Tess is one of the most banal characters, and I've never, ever seen what Danny sees in her.

Michael G. Munz

This is the first time I've ever noticed Danny cross behind Rusty in the bar when he's on his break from teaching poker.

Michael G. Munz

I'm still waiting for Mambos 1-4.

Michael G. Munz

i hope you watch the rest of these ignore the polls and just do it its worth it

Vince Ledezma

When I first watched this, I completely missed the voice of the SWAT commander. It's so painfully obvious who's playing that character on rewatches that it boggles my mind that I didn't pick it up the first time.

Frankie Crews

Or edit the timer. I lost sync after first ad. Or maybe unblur for a few seconds after the ad.

Bob Hanflig

Sandra Bullock is the lead in Ocean's 8, the fourth movie, and the only one not directed by Steven Soderbergh. I think it's still worth watching, with another crew of iconic characters. Soderbergh also directed the heist film Logan Lucky with Channing Tatum and Adam Driver, which is also great. Soderbergh and Clooney *also* worked together on another crime/caper movie, Out of Sight, co-starring Jennifer Lopez. Clooney is also ridiculously cool in it as well.

Kevin Mowery

haha, i bought it. I need to learn to listen/read the intro.

James B.

Not sure why you couldn’t just cut the ads out of the full Watch along πŸ€”

Jason Dolan

How come we are skipping Oceans 1 to 10. Makes so sense. :/

LightsCameraJake

The movie that redefined the heist genre: Now every heist movie has scenes where you put together the team, and a plan that looks like it's failing but is actually going to plan. The original version done in the 60's by the ratpack is truly awful and nearly unwatchable, but if you're interested in it, here's a pretty funny video talking about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnVzsIeGapI

LookingForOwls

Fun fact: Topher Grace was #20 on the call sheet and Joshua Jackson was #84 πŸ˜‚

XanderWhat

You need to watch 12 immediately!

LionBro

This movie was alright. The commercials sound like a hassle so I’ll skip this reaction. Look forward to rise though.

jamie jones

Sandra Bullock is in Ocean Eight, a similar movie with an all women cast, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Rihanna, Awkwafina.

David Bourgeois

Talk about Old School! LOL! Great movie! This was the beginning of George Clooney's string of successful (box office and/or critically acclaimed) films after the disaster that was Batman & Robin! LOL! Fun Facts about rumored Actors linked to certain roles: Mark Wahlberg was offered the role of Linus (Matt Damon) but turned down due to filming Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes (2001), Luke & Owen Wilson turned down the roles of the Malloy Twins (Scott Caan/Casey Affleck) to film "The Royal Tenenbaums", Bruce Willis was offered the role of Terry Benedict but passed & eventually regretted years later

Alan Felicia

This is a remake of Ocean Eleven (1960) which was made with Frank Sinatra and the rat pack (Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, and the rest).

David Bourgeois

"oh... it's a big man!" lol

Alex Lee

Also, I've watched this movie so many damn times, and never noticed that Clair de Lune is playing when the team is first meeting at Elliott Gould's house. Makes so much more sense why the last time we see the team together, Clair de Lune is playing over the scene at the fountain.

Jeff K

Nat, just to be clear: the transitions you found so jarring aren't part of the actual movie; they're the commercial breaks since you're not watching the ad-free cut (I realize the ads aren't popping up every time but it's cut for AMC in the version you're watching).

Jeff K

One of my favorite little gags in the movie is when they're leaving the club, and everyone mobs Topher Grace and completely ignores George Clooney and Brad Pitt.

Jeff K

Topher is himself in the movie. They mentioned that Brad Pitt's character was teaching celebs in hollywood to play poker.

Alex Lee

Gonna be fun watching Natalie waiting for Sandra Bullock to show up and then she never does, lol

Jason Dolan

I watched the entirety of Legend of Korra with ads on Paramount so no problem lol

Ben Wheeler

The second best food actor is Sung Kang in the Fast & Furious franchise. His character Han is always eating. It’s because his character quit smoking so he’s constantly snacking.

djKENTO

I haven't watched this yet but if Nat likes a good heist movie maybe we can get her to start the Mission Impossible franchise?

Boomcity

Happy Feature Friday Nat. We always love it when you throw challenges at us and make us work for your reaction. You're always doing the hard work while we sit back and watch, so it's time we broke sweat πŸ˜‚ Have never seen this movie, so I will finally be able to tick it off my list. This movie was a blast Nat, and a fun one for Friday night. What a great cast and the heist was fun to watch play out and guess how they would get away. I guess the swinging music score was meant to pay homage to the original 1960 version of this movie with Frank Sinatra playing Danny Ocean. You're way too clever Nat, working out the motive for the heist ha ha. Loved you pointing out Brad "The Stomach" Pitt snacking all the way through πŸ˜„ Your British accent is definitely better than Don Cheadle's πŸ˜‚ Sandra Bullock starred in Ocean's 8, the recent re-working of the film. In the new year you'll definitely need to check out Sandra B in Speed, as it will be it's 30th anniversary, and you also get to see Keanu Reeves for good measure. Thanks for an awesome movie reaction today Nattie, and as always, thanks for your great work this week. Have a brilliant weekend πŸ’›
