Help me pick a movie!
Added 2023-12-13 14:00:08 +0000 UTCI tried to pick all movies with sci fi themes, although I feel like Hitchhiker is wildly out of place here. But it's been mentioned to me so many times in messages that I just decided to throw it in here and see what happens. 🤷♀️

I'm a bit late to the party but Hitchhikers would be fantastic

Ed Green
2023-12-24 16:29:03 +0000 UTCThe worst movie I've ever seen that was based on a beloved sci-fi/fantasy novel is The Seeker: The Dark is Rising. Completely butchered a book I've loved since age 7 and am currently rereading because it's set between Midwinter's Eve and Twelfth Night.
Ed Green
2023-12-24 16:28:15 +0000 UTCThey are trying to do sequel as they had planned for battle angel, don’t know how far along they are.

2023-12-22 19:56:32 +0000 UTCI may have said this before, but I watched the Hitchhikers Guide movie in a theater. And at the end of it, a young girl stood up, turned to her group and announced "This is the WORST movie I've EVER seen!" If she were older, there would have been veins. Anyway, she needed to see more movies, but that was definitely not the best way to experience Hitchhiker's.

2023-12-22 19:51:29 +0000 UTCDude, you can just say the movie is lame. It is. No need to announce you were around for the BBC series.
Michael Butler
2023-12-22 19:45:41 +0000 UTCAlso +1 on Alita Battle Angel! We have been mentioning it for a very long time, but has never been on a poll. Anyone else think that is a travesty? Such a great one-off movie!
Mastervodo
2023-12-15 21:40:25 +0000 UTCLong time since I have seen Hitchhikers Guide. I would suggest Alita: Battle Angel.
Ryan Cornett
2023-12-15 17:53:31 +0000 UTCI assume you mean the lame 00’s Disney “Hitchhiker’s Guide”, not the Douglas Adams text-faithful 80’s BBC one on a Classic Doctor Who budget?

2023-12-15 00:21:01 +0000 UTCHi Johannes, yeah unfortunately the LOTR reactions are no longer available here on the Patreon but if you head over to the Discord server and contact the moderator Calo he'll be able to send you the local files :)

2023-12-14 19:40:00 +0000 UTCUnfortunately the original full length reactions were destroyed along with the One Ring. Part of her channel's growing pains in the early days.

2023-12-14 17:12:11 +0000 UTCI seem to remember her saying the original recordings got corrupted so she can’t upload them here again 😭 I was too late for the full reaction too Maybe we’ll get some rewatch for a channel anniversary in the future or something😅
Daniel McGuinness
2023-12-14 16:41:04 +0000 UTCHi Johannes CT, If I remember correctly the Lord of The Rings full length reactions were not uploaded to Patreon, I would love to see these as well..

2023-12-14 01:19:29 +0000 UTCI voted for apes but I really do hope you react to Hitchhikers Guide soon too because that’s one of my favorites
Colter
2023-12-14 01:09:05 +0000 UTCThere’s no halloween movies on the poll though. Theres no rule that all horror/thrillers must be watched in October.
jamie jones
2023-12-14 00:30:38 +0000 UTCNat watch Apes!!!

2023-12-14 00:17:15 +0000 UTCSo long and thanks for a ll the fish.

2023-12-13 23:30:21 +0000 UTCI second the Elijah Wood "Dirk Gently" show. It was bizarre and refreshingly untethered from most of the source material but still felt like something Adams could have written.
Troy B.
2023-12-13 22:57:07 +0000 UTCI can't bring myself to sit through that iteration of Hitchhiker's Guide again. I've loved every form of it, radio show, book, text adventure, TV show, but... the movie missed SO much of the tone and sharpness of its predecessors. It was like it was made by a Nutri-Matic machine, to give the viewer something almost, but not quite entirely unlike British humor.
Troy B.
2023-12-13 22:56:03 +0000 UTCAnd yet it's the only one of the five I'd never heard of until right now
Ed Green
2023-12-13 22:40:45 +0000 UTCI'm picking Hitchhiker's Guide because I never even thought it would be on a poll, let alone possibly watched. Good movie, but not one I expected to come up. (Though the original radio series, books, TV show, and text based game are better.) 😀
Nicholas Sulikowski
2023-12-13 22:27:09 +0000 UTCI suggested Hitchhiker's Guide because it's light and fluffy. But if u want intense see Nope
Larry the Good
2023-12-13 22:12:37 +0000 UTCI feel like Final Destination is the out of place one. I voted for hitchhikers because it’s a wonderful movie and might have a chance but Nope and 28 Days are straight up masterpieces. I guess the ape fans are going to ape.
Jacob King
2023-12-13 20:47:15 +0000 UTCWant to rewatch Nope so bad!
Nick James
2023-12-13 20:34:11 +0000 UTCYep we gotta see the Apes trilogy through, too good to ignore!

2023-12-13 18:17:10 +0000 UTCNat keep putting Hitchhikers guide in the polls. I need you to see this film
Anthony Curione
2023-12-13 18:16:40 +0000 UTCApe make nat cry
Simon Bauer
2023-12-13 18:00:43 +0000 UTCI’m actually a massive Douglas Adams fan. If anyone is interested in Hitchhikers if you can find the original BBC radio play it’s superior to all subsequent media IMHO Also the Dirk Gently series with Elijah Wood was surprisingly good !
Troymk1
2023-12-13 17:53:51 +0000 UTCLet's get the Final Destination series started! They will be a fun change to the holiday usuals (or 28 Days Later). And while the book was good, the Hitchhiker's movie was just okay in parts and dragged in others. I just think that one can wait.
Adam Doyle
2023-12-13 17:34:20 +0000 UTCA comedy in space is sci fi my friend.
jamie jones
2023-12-13 17:28:08 +0000 UTCIs this a serious question? Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is one of the best blockbusters of the 2010s.
Lemuel Daher
2023-12-13 17:26:53 +0000 UTCCause dawn is way better. Pretty simple answer
jamie jones
2023-12-13 17:26:48 +0000 UTCCause planet of the apes trilogy is goated and dawn is the best one
calum1
2023-12-13 17:24:45 +0000 UTCAgreed, none of these qualify as Sci-Fi except, maybe Planet of the Apes. And then only because it deals with the dangers of genetic manipulation. Hitchhikers is a comedy in space and the last three are all horror/thrillers with no science components that I am aware of.
Essero Eson
2023-12-13 17:23:33 +0000 UTCHOW are both HGTTG and 28 Days Later losing to fucking dawn of the planet apes lmao
dooyaunastan
2023-12-13 17:18:12 +0000 UTC28 Days Later is one of the best zombie movies imo but always voting for the Apes!
Danishprince
2023-12-13 16:28:04 +0000 UTC28 days and Nope are greattt but gotta finish apes movies first
Andre
2023-12-13 16:08:26 +0000 UTCHitchhiker is sci-fi - it's just a comedy. not really out of place. The others are straight sci-fi and 3 are horror sci-fi
The Dingo
2023-12-13 16:08:18 +0000 UTCIt’s always Monkey Time somewhere
JD Sharpe
2023-12-13 15:54:24 +0000 UTCI'm not big on the Final Destination movies, they're okay, but all the rest are must sees in my opinion. I gotta go Hitchhiker's Guide though, haven't seen any reactions to that gem.
Joe D. MacGuffinstuff
2023-12-13 15:53:18 +0000 UTCTechnically they’re not Zombies, infected. So that would make it Sciene 😉
Harry Reece
2023-12-13 15:48:49 +0000 UTCI literally picked 28 days cause I know how much nat loves that genre of movie.
MJ Eid
2023-12-13 15:45:40 +0000 UTCFinal Destination and 28 Days Later are more horror than sci-fi, both great movies tho! That being said, it’s monkey time 🐵
Daniel McGuinness
2023-12-13 15:40:42 +0000 UTCI voted for Rise to get to Dawn so I’ll vote for it but there’s some good stuff in here that I hope doesn’t disappear forever. Although I’m disappointed Robocop isn’t in this sci fi poll but I know it had no chance of beating Dawn.
Jason Gillman
2023-12-13 15:33:48 +0000 UTCI don't vote for horror I was just asking why is there a horror movie on a poll at Christmas time.
Tony Mandler
2023-12-13 15:28:47 +0000 UTCSo vote for a non horror? I dont see your dilemma
jamie jones
2023-12-13 15:26:19 +0000 UTCId vote 28 days, but dawn is here and thats the reason i voted for rise
jamie jones
2023-12-13 15:24:42 +0000 UTCSci fi? Not that im complaining but 3 are more horror than sci fi, thrilled were gonna get more apes before the new year tho!
Rey
2023-12-13 15:20:18 +0000 UTCHitchhiker is out of place, which is why it's perfect. Plus, people seem to like that Sam Rockwell guy.
nitind
2023-12-13 15:16:23 +0000 UTCFor half a second, I thought "Nope" meant "none of these movies." Guess I'm not fully awake yet.😆
Josh Heinen
2023-12-13 15:11:45 +0000 UTCI would like one ticket for the Ape-express please
Berry
2023-12-13 14:55:24 +0000 UTCI hope to see Final Destination in the next Natmares poll, but it's not really sci-fi.
Nizawach
2023-12-13 14:48:52 +0000 UTCIs 28 Days Later considered a sci-fi? It's a zombie flick and I thought Nat hated zombies...
FogdogKdog
2023-12-13 14:43:27 +0000 UTCApes together strong
Lucaco26
2023-12-13 14:42:22 +0000 UTCHitchhikers guide is important. I hope you get around to it eventually. Nope is also incredible. 28 days later is great but save it for Halloween. Planet of the apes is fine you should finish the series now that you started it.
adrianR31
2023-12-13 14:42:04 +0000 UTCI'm going to jump on the bandwagon because having A Natmare Before Christmas sounds like so much fun! Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and then 28 Days Later! Festive and Shocking! Because who is expecting to see a young Cillian Murphy's dangling participle right before Christmas, am I right?
Mike Hell
2023-12-13 14:41:14 +0000 UTCOf course the one i would love for you to react is the most least voted 😭
Siti Dee
2023-12-13 14:40:51 +0000 UTCAll are amazing choices but I'd go with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes or 28 Weeks Later and have us a Natemare Before Christmas!
Zachary Dulaney
2023-12-13 14:35:03 +0000 UTCGotta keep watching planet of the apes movies!
Vince Ledezma
2023-12-13 14:34:49 +0000 UTCAgain so many great choices, but i have to go with apes!
Tentomushi
2023-12-13 14:33:36 +0000 UTCAll great choices in their own way. Tough one!
RationallySassy
2023-12-13 14:25:55 +0000 UTCYup... You know what you have to do Nat. You have to finish the Apes Trilogy now
Walter Lopez
2023-12-13 14:20:31 +0000 UTCHitchhiker's Guide, easy. I really don't see all the fuss about these Planet of the Apes movies.
UngawdlyJish
2023-12-13 14:20:27 +0000 UTCSurprised to see hitchhikers guide get so many votes, it’s such a forgotten nothing of a movie
JD Sharpe
2023-12-13 14:19:48 +0000 UTCI agree… I think you save 28 Days Later for Natmares
John Hoffler Jr.
2023-12-13 14:19:41 +0000 UTCI have voted but yet again I feel I will not get the one I would like but I won’t be mad if planet of the apes gets it either
2023-12-13 14:18:10 +0000 UTCThat's fine but we just came off of Natmares and I would just like anything else but horror. I am not a horror fan and want to see something else.
Tony Mandler
2023-12-13 14:17:49 +0000 UTCMaybe she’s seen a good amount Christmas movies.
Chris Henderson
2023-12-13 14:15:26 +0000 UTCIt's Christmas time why is a horror movie on here 28 Days Later?
Tony Mandler
2023-12-13 14:14:22 +0000 UTCAs much as I want to see you're panicked reaction to 28 days later, got to Keep the Apes train rolling
Eric Wallace
2023-12-13 14:12:20 +0000 UTCFinal Destination is a option now and not in Natmares?
Julio Carranza
2023-12-13 14:09:29 +0000 UTCDawn of the Planet of the Apes was really good when I saw it some years ago. Wouldn't mind seeing Hitchhiker either, never got around to seeing that, but my vote is for Apes because Nat just saw 'Rise' so it's fresh in her mind and I think she'll really enjoy 'Dawn'.
Skizane
2023-12-13 14:07:43 +0000 UTCTorn between keeping the Apes train rolling or having a Natmare Before Christmas.
Michael McNeill
2023-12-13 14:07:28 +0000 UTCHappy Wednesday Nat. These are great movies, but going to vote to continue the Apes journey. Dawn is my favourite of the new trilogy, and would love to see your reaction to it. Have a great day Nat 💛
Darryl Low
2023-12-13 14:05:43 +0000 UTCDawn then 28 Days is the only correct answer
Joel
2023-12-13 14:05:23 +0000 UTCI’m so conflicted because I believe that the second and third Apes films are MILES better than the first one (primarily due to Matt Reeves directing them), but on the other hand, 28 Days Later is an absolute masterpiece crafted by the incomparable Danny Boyle. Here’s hoping you react to them both eventually :)
PureGonzo
2023-12-13 14:05:04 +0000 UTCDawn of apes , then 28 days , would make great reactions
Aaron Davies
2023-12-13 14:04:25 +0000 UTC28 days later for the winnnnnnnnnn! Such a great movie and the sequel 28 weeks later is good too!
Josh R
2023-12-13 14:04:13 +0000 UTCHitchhiker is an awesome film to watch, would recommend it even if it doesn’t win the poll.
Edgard Rosas
2023-12-13 14:04:09 +0000 UTCDon’t change horses in the middle of the stream! Planet of the Apes all the way!
