Gonna join the chorus of people recommending The Nice Guys from the same writer/director Shane Black. Probably even more under-appreciated than this movie.

2023-12-28 10:35:56 +0000 UTCThank you for including BoB! honestly these dark edgy satirical superhero shows The Boys/Gen V/Deadpool/Invincible are making me feel tired. There's an entire universe of other stories to see.

2023-12-17 04:53:26 +0000 UTCLove this movie! and so glad that you loved it too! When I first seen this, I kept telling friends to check it out, at the time I had no idea it was called "Breaking the 4th wall" so when I was describing it, I kept saying "remember Kuzko on Emperor's New Groove? well it's like that but with Iron Man!" lol I know I'm not to only one to say this, but I suggest The Nice Guys next!

2023-12-16 16:47:12 +0000 UTCI will take every opportunity to suggest one of my favorite Harrison Ford movies, The Fugitive, so if you want to see more RDJ he's in the sequel, U.S. Marshals, which brings back some of the characters from The Fugitive, along with Wesley Snipes.

2023-12-16 00:50:38 +0000 UTCThis is one of those movies I recommend to almost everyone. It's so smart and funny and I was always amazed it didn't find a bigger audience. And by the way, Nat, the exchange that had you so confused was Perry's riff on "talking money." Harry, speaking of the boy Perry liked in school. "I got five bucks says you can still get him." Perry: "I got a ten that says 'pass the pepper.' Two quarters that harmonize on Moonlight in Vermont." Harry: "What?" Perry: "Talking money." Harry: "Talking monkey?" Perry: "Talking monkey, yeah. Came here from the future. Ugly sucker. Only says 'ficus.'" (I've seen this movie so many times I could *almost* do that from memory.)

2023-12-15 22:35:37 +0000 UTC“Go. Sleep badly. Any questions, hesitate to call.” Love this movie. RDJ and Val Kilmer have such great chemistry, and RDJ and Michelle Monaghan (who is spectacular in this) also have great chemistry. "Well, for starters, she's been fucked more times than she's had a hot meal." "Yeah, I heard about that. It was neck-and-neck and then she skipped lunch."

2023-12-15 21:50:34 +0000 UTCI rented this on prime but it doesn’t seem to synced with nats. Anyone having this issue.

2023-12-15 20:32:48 +0000 UTCStudio Ghibli is notorious for copyright infringement, that's why you don't see much reaction on Youtube.

This is a regular holiday movie tradition for me. Oh, and during one of your re-watches, please listen to the commentary. It is so charming and hilarious.

2023-12-15 17:16:04 +0000 UTCRDJ fans always overlook that this movie Was Not Downey's first leading role towards his comeback in Hollywood (Movie & TV Studio stopped hiring Robert b/c of his Drug/Alcohol/Legal Troubles). It was a small Indie Film called "The Singing Detective" in which the Producer, Mel Gibson (an old friend, supporter, co-star in "Air America") paid Downey's Insurance Bond & hired him as the Lead. Another Fun Fact, the Director of the movie, Keith Gordon, was an old castmate of Downey (1985-Back to School). RDJ performance paved the way for his return to Hollywood mainstream with his next movie, Gothika, in a small, supporting role. That movie was produced by Joel Silver, who produced numerous Mel Gibson movies (Lethal Weapon series) and recommended Downey for the Lead to a small movie he is Producing, Kiss-Kiss Bang, Bang (directed by Shane Black who wrote Lethal Weapon). One final note, throughout this process, RDJ also met his future (& current) Wife, Susan Levin, who was Joel Silver's Assistant. Talk about a great comeback story! LOL!

2023-12-15 16:39:25 +0000 UTCAbsolutely love this movie! For those of you who don't know this was RDJ's first leading performance after his (hopefully) last legal and career issues with his addiction before his next leading performance as Tony Stark in Iron Man. The dialogue and patter in this movie really made me understand why I liked the first Iron Man film knowing that he worked on and improved a lot of the dialogue for that film. This movie is understandably out of the limelight of the mainstream due to some of the themes present in the movie, but I liked how those themes is displayed matter of factly as something common and prevalent because in reality that is true. My next high recommendation of one of my favourite movies is Master and Commander: The Far Side Of The World with Russell Crowe and Paul Betany. Especially with how well Gladiator did on her channel, it's another historical drama/fiction but there's an element of a certain "bromance" or relationship between friends while having a great setting around it. It got overlooked by the mainstream due to coming out around the time of Pirates of the Caribbean who is more fantasy fiction than adult.
