I joined for this and am shocked it has never won. This is my absolute favorite miniseries.

2024-02-06 00:49:35 +0000 UTCSpeaking as a former company commander in the Marine Corps, at fifteen minutes in, Sobel has already committed two grievous leadership sins - first, when one man stumbled and those at his sides grabbed his arms to help him, that was a GOOD thing! That's the kind of thing you want to see in your people. Second, "You're making ME look bad?" That would instantly lose you the respect and loyalty of every one of your people who heard you say it. "You're making US look bad" is legit. "You're making ME look bad" sounds, and is, narcissistic and self-absorbed.

2024-01-01 16:25:03 +0000 UTCHopefully next couple episodes are soon. One of my favorite series.

2024-01-01 10:32:34 +0000 UTCWow! What a great surprise this is, I had no idea this was on the schedule. Band Of Brothers is one of my all time favorite productions, movie or series. I haven't watched it in its entirety in probably a decade, waiting for each episode is going to be difficult.
Ranger Maverick
2023-12-30 06:46:40 +0000 UTCMichael Fassbender (Young Magneto) shows up a lot in this episode as an American Soldier, long before he was famous. And As Nat mentioned Simon Pegg! The whole series was filmed in England so it makes sense they would use up and coming UK actors. Look out for James McAvoy (Xavier) later... There are also several renowned UK actors like Damien Lewis (Winters) and other UK actors like Marc Warren, Tom Hardy, Dominic Cooper and Stephen Graham!
George Baxter
2023-12-28 20:59:29 +0000 UTCNeal McDonough is such an underrated actor

2023-12-28 01:47:32 +0000 UTCI really liked her reaction to this. She was very keyed into the events that were happening. It helps to have some knowledge of World War II going into this. Some reactors don't. And, we all know that it's going to get tough. There are some episodes that are going to be especially hard for her to get through. But this is one of the most worthwhile shows that she will ever watch. Not many things are a masterpiece, but this is.

2023-12-27 16:38:09 +0000 UTCHope that you enjoyed your holiday Natalie! Mine was spent alone at home this year. I wasn't upset about it or anything - it just wasn't nearly as fun as it normally was. :P Also got to avoid all the family drama and that was a giant relief, so I'm not going to complain. xD I'm finally watching this - on the 26th! I'm bummed that I wasn't among the first to view the reaction with you on here. :P Whatever though, still plenty of episodes ahead! I am SO STOKED to FINALLY be watching this with you! Holy good god damn. It's about time that you're watching this! I'm mighty fine on this end. :) REALLY been looking forward to this! Each of these men were a part of this group. They'll be at the start of each episode as we move along through the series. They aren't with us anymore.. but I cherish them. Each of them were truly great men. The intro music for this show is so damn emotionally moving for me! xD I first watched this back in high school during my sophomore history class when we studied WW2. I watched the entire series three times in high school. lmao, all of those three times were with the same teacher. Ms. Nelson was my favorite teacher in high school! :D Dude on the left was in Office Space. Be ready to hate Sobel! xD He isn't intimidating here at all, no. His authority though, that's MIGHTY intimidating. lol, this isn't the show to have a random bear pop out, Natalie. xD lmao, as a crippled guy - I've got no clue how it feels to run up anything. THE WHOLE DAMN SHOW is this amazing! In my eyes this series is perfect for what it is. The entire cast is brilliant, as are the episodes. hahahaha, yeah, it'll be difficult not talking about future episodes with this show - I can feel it! I'll be doing my best to not talk about future episodes. I LOVE this guy! hahahaha, getting him to cut that fence. Yeesh! I cracked up so hard when I first watched this back in high school. lmao, don't feel bad for Sobel . He's just plain bad at his job. Sobel is just a mopey whiner. xD Wait - you didn't think a Luger was a gun? For real? lol, silly. Those GI Life Insurance Policies were very important! Young men who weren't married sent that money to their parents while those that were, sent that money to their wife. $10,000 was a lot of money back in 1942! Maaaaan.. I know that I'm going to be emotional during this watchalong of this series! This was filmed so damn well and so much effort was put into making this series. Doesn't matter though - I'm very glad that we're all finally watching this together on here. :) There aren't THAT many episodes Natalie. I love this series so much! Really looking forward to enjoying this with you. :)

2023-12-27 09:17:49 +0000 UTCI really missed you Natalie. This was a great reaction to come back to you for. Made my day, since my Christmas otherwise got ruined by covid.

2023-12-26 17:59:49 +0000 UTCLooks like I came back just in time! You will be the 3rd creator I have seen react to this now. Sorry I had to leave you for a spell... Merry Christmas Happy Channukah and Happy New Year to you and Tyler and to your furbabies!

2023-12-26 16:27:57 +0000 UTCHappy holidays Nat. You made my work break by watching this!!

2023-12-26 15:37:44 +0000 UTCI'm glad you decided to react to this alongside Invincible. I was always bummed when it lost in all the other polls. I always want to propose a drinking game of "Spot the Actor" to people who are watching the series for the first time, but not many would make it very far if they're binging the show. You're one of the few reactors I've seen that immediately get what Sobel is doing. He's an ass and he's super petty, but he's a damn fine instructor. A shit leader, but a damn fine instructor. Members of Easy would go on to admit that if it weren't for Sobel being so hard on them, they wouldn't have been half the fighting force they ended up being. And yes, those jump boots are hell. Back in my younger days I belonged to a historical re-enactment group. We did a lot of events at the WWII Museum in New Orleans, a History Channel doc (back when History actually did history) stuff like that. Anyway, we wore Corcoran Jump Boots and they were a bitch to break in, and I didn't have to run 12 miles in them every day. Even after they were broken in, they weren't comfortable at all. But they did give come great ankle support... I'm looking forward to re-watching the rest of the show with you.

2023-12-26 03:17:51 +0000 UTCHey man, just giving you a vibe check. "I think it's very sweet you don't understand" comes across in a very condescending way. Just FYI.

2023-12-26 03:17:12 +0000 UTCI'm so glad you are watching BOB, one of the greatest shows ever, but be aware it gets rough, Episode 6 will break your heart, and episode 9, there are no words.
Stephen Woods
2023-12-25 23:27:03 +0000 UTCHey Natalie, I think it’s very sweet you don’t understand Sobel. It’s actually fairly common. He is someone who’s ego and self worth is propped up by pushing others down. His fragility is actually well acted by Schwimmer here
Troymk1
2023-12-25 23:23:05 +0000 UTCMy whole family is sick except me… So I’m home alone. And now I get to watch one of my favorite shows with one of my favorite reactors. So the guy with the canteen that was empty? That was a young Michael Fassbender. Half a decade before he’d be in 300 and a full Decade before he’d take over the role of Magneto in X-Men. This entire show is like that. It’s punctuated with massive actors who are so young they’re often unrecognizable.

2023-12-25 20:08:00 +0000 UTCAlso, random comment but your hair looks great in this one, Nat! It suddenly occurs to me you'd have fit in perfectly in like, the Mrs. Maisel era, or in the Roaring '20s as a flapper at a party with Gatsby. Also also: just started the episode, and "I don't know who makes up the cast." Um... like, everyone. I'll be interested to see how many current stars you recognize when they were just young pups getting their starts. And the Easy button? Perfect timing honestly, given we're following Easy company through this show.
Jeff K
2023-12-25 19:49:29 +0000 UTCGreat timing! Hope you make it through this and The Pacific before Masters of the Air comes out

2023-12-25 18:09:13 +0000 UTCMerry Christmas Nat and everyone! This is such a great show, I'm glad you decided to watch it alongside Invincible. And remembering everyone's name is a struggle in the early episodes, but you'll figure it out as you go. This show is from 2001, so if you're on the lookout for them, you're going to see some stars in here, and that's besides the main characters like Damien Lewis, Ron Livingston, Donnie Wahlberg. You already saw Simon Pegg, but did you catch Michael Fassbender?
Mike Hell
2023-12-25 17:36:34 +0000 UTCThere is a category 5 tear storm warning for later in this series, so keep the tissues handy.

2023-12-25 17:16:17 +0000 UTCNow you get to play the whos who game. Trying to figure out which of the men being interviewed is which character in the show. Also its wild that Simon Pegg has like no lines for a while but he is in the background so much early on. keep an eye out for the actor who plays Moriarty in Sherlock.
Ashley
2023-12-25 16:43:26 +0000 UTCI think Sobel has high hopes for his own glory. He wants to be important, to be the big leader, but he simply lacks the ability.

2023-12-25 16:41:27 +0000 UTCLove all the Christmas excitement everyone! Can’t wait to check this out. My whole family got sick so this is now my plan today haha

2023-12-25 16:18:24 +0000 UTCAgreed, to add onto what you said I also highly recommend the documentary "The War" by Ken Burns. Narrated by Keith David. Great doc about WW2. Not something to react to but to watch in your own time. 7 eps and each ep is like 2.5 hours long.
Ashley
2023-12-25 15:33:17 +0000 UTCFirst of all, thank you Natalie for choosing this one on your own to react to. It is, IMO, one of the most important series to ever be made. I think it should be required viewing for students in the US. Having said that, be ready for an emotional experience. There are certain parts that will hit you very hard. You will get through them. I will also put out the call for you to watch "We Stand Alone Together" which is the documentary that is included with the DVD set when you finish the show. Last time I checked it was on YT for free.
JayF
2023-12-25 14:45:07 +0000 UTCHappy Holidays Nat. I guess ill say right away,The talking heads portion of each episode is taken from the documentary called "We Stand Alone, Together: The Men of Easy Company" which if you feel up to it after the show to react to, is considered the true and final episode of band of Brothers from fans of the show. I'm not sure what the policy on documentary reactions are but I figured id let you know about it :)

2023-12-25 14:12:59 +0000 UTCMerry Christmas everyone and Happy Holidays Nat 😊 Looking forward to watching this show with you later. Have only heard good things about it and I think we are in for an emotional ride. Excited for more Invincible and Apes too 😊 Oh wow Nat. Loved your reaction and loved this show. What a cast, and group of characters. Can't wait for the mission to begin. It's going to be a hard watch. Thanks for a great video today Nat 💛

2023-12-25 14:12:50 +0000 UTCBest TV show ever without a doubt. Nice and cheerful subject matter for christmas day too 👀 חג מולד שמח Natalie!

2023-12-25 14:12:26 +0000 UTCImho, despite it being a mini-series, the best 'tv show' of all but hoo-boy if it doesn't effect *&* affect you as you watch and KEEP doing so post-watching it. these men gave everything for us and, all being well, we'll all never have to go through what they did. Thank you for uploading this today too. Happy Xmas/holidays everyone! 🎄
