Let's Watch: Kill Bill Vol. 1!!

Happy Feature Friday Folks!

I FORGOT HOW GOOD THIS WAS, HOLY CANNOLI!! I'm so thrilled to be revisiting these movies with y'all. This was such a satisfying watch! Just a heads up, that I won't be posting the react to Vol. 2 next week, but the week after that. I honestly was so tempted to watch it right away, but I also wanna space out this Tarantino greatness.

For those who are curious, I watched this on Prime Video. As always, thank you so much for your support here on Patreon. Until the next one, have a great weekend and stay golden!

GREAT reaction/watch-along!! Lots of fun and it's been so long since I've watched these movies. Extremely excited for Vol. 2!!

Sam Winkler

Wu-Tang Clan ain't nuthin' to fck with ... yeah the RZA is nothing less than a musical genius.

James Hudson

I saw someone mention Charlie's Angels 1 & 2, the Lucy Liu version, and that should defs be on the re-watch list (assuming Nat has watched it). Talk about a fun action movie with a killer soundtrack. This movie was always one of my favourites but I haven't watched it since I was young and, holy cow, I missed a lot of nuance. I never noticed how emotional she was when killing Oren, they must have been friends or close. The subtly of their acting in that scene was masterful. And just supreme writing and direction and acting throughout. Pure perfection.

Shannon Turner

Nat: That's an insane amount of people to fight!! Me: Crazy 88. Name checks out

Tom Chan

So if you love revisiting movies, then inglourious basterds is definitely revist worthy

jamie jones

I think O-ren and the Bride were actual friends in the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad. Well, what could be considered friends in a psychotic squad like that. The reason why I think that is the Trix statement and apology which sounded more sincere than Vernita Green, aka Copperhead.

Ernesto

The Kill Bill films are my favourite Tarantino action movies. Regarding new series, I recommend that Natalie watch the Blue Eye Samurai anime series. It's amazing! It's up there with Arcane as the best animated series on Netflix, just with traditional animation instead CG animation. GREAT STORY! Excellent voice acting and beautiful animation.

Rod Reavern

I'm a Tarantino fan boy, I admit it. This was a perfect example of a strong female character with an impressive and powerful character arc. Her skill and abilities were earned through a life of hard knocks and rough treatment. Uma Thurman did such an amazing job as Beatrix Kiddo! What a film! Weird Fact: Harvey Weinstein's is the reason there are two films. It was originally planned as one film and Mr Weinstein, who was apparently notorious for forcing directors to shorten films did the same when Kill Bill's running time got too long. It ended up working out because Tarantino decided to just split the movie up into two movies and didn't have to end up cutting out anything from the original film! I look forward to seeing your reaction to it Ms. Gold!

Raj Hudek

Wow this movie is fucking amazing. The soundtrack the suspense. Tarantino knows how to craft a masterpiece. This was so refreshing to watch its crazy to think it came out 21 years ago.

Alex

Woman with the eye patch is Daryl Hannah. Woman you're talking about in Django was actress and stuntwoman Zoe Bell

Tiger Chu

Thanks for the fun video! Soundtrack was so great because RZA from Wutang made it. So good.

Iโ€™m not a huge Quentin Tarantino fan, but Kill Bill is so iconic and classic itโ€™s one of my favourites. The perfect gritty, camp, samurai/western revenge flicks ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป One of my favourite facts about the movie is when O-Ren tells the Bride she โ€œmight not last five minutes.โ€ Iโ€™m pretty sure that from the moment their fight starts, right up to O-Renโ€™s death is almost exactly 5 minutes ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Daniel McGuinness

This is a great and fun reaction! Thank You Nat for rewatching Kill Bill v1! Looking forward to Volume 2!

Alan Felicia

Another Lucy Liu movie Iโ€™d love to see a reaction too would be the Charlieโ€™s Angels movies! ๐Ÿ˜ญ It would even make a good fun movie reaction for the second channel (even tho its main channel material in my heart) ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜‚

Daniel McGuinness

Wonderful reaction, Nat. One of my fav "rewatches" you've done. ๐Ÿ˜

NotlobParrot

I wouldn't mind a rewatch movie occasionally. Certainly not weekly. But re-doing "Natale Young - The lost episodes" would be great!

Mastervodo

My understanding of the black & white section is because the MPAA demanded a reduction in the gore to give an R-rating. In some markets it was released with the scene in color, and I think you can find it on youtube or other video sharing sites.

Michael Kemmet

Quentin Tarantino drew inspiration from a Japanese movie called "Lady snowblood" when he made "Kill bill". The animated scene and the fight in the snow were also in "Lady snowblood" and the song near the end was this movie's theme song.

Ido Gordin

Yeah I'm getting 2 or 3 every few days on different videos, some of them from a year or 2 ago. Just keep reporting them and deleting them.

Darryl Low

Aand historically Samurai fights are always over quickly and with as few moves as possible. It's cool you picked up on that watching Oren. Score and soundtrack brilliant. I watch these 2 a few times a year. Great to come back to.

adrianR31

HELL YEAH! Definitely doing the full watch on this one! great choice. Personally I'd rank Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained and Pulp Fiction a little higher among the Tarantino films but Kill Bill is just so iconic and perfect for what it is- a bloody grindhouse revenge story

Jacketb

Hi everyone Please all watch out for the fake account reply to comments on Nat's video's on YouTube, I have reported it to YouTube but you may want to report it as well. Fake account is - Dm @The_NatalieGold on TeIegram

Baggie Mark

No worries, glad I wasn't going crazy. Too bad it wasn't on purpose, you could easily have had someone say "Cindy Liu who?", LMAO

Game Wizard001

LMAAAOOOO yeah I meant Lucy holy shit ๐Ÿ’€

Samurai Shampoo01

The excessive blood spray has 2 inspirations. One of them being anime which we have an entire scene of in Oren's backstory. The other is Kurosawa's 'Sanjuro' from 1962. One of the props malfunctioned which created a blood geyser and they liked it so much they left it in.

adrianR31

You mean Lucy Liu right? Otherwise I'm questioning the Mandela Effect reality, lol

Game Wizard001

Kill Bill 3 with Copperhead's daughter grown up. This was every Tarantino fan's dream. But he's only directing one more movie and I think he's already said it's not going to be Kill Bill 3

adrianR31

It's crazy how close we were to having Michelle Yeoh be Cottonmouth instead of Lucy Liu. Quentin originally wanted that but went with Lucy since he didn't believe Michelle Yeoh losing a fight to Uma Thurman would be realistic.

Samurai Shampoo01

Never thought about the tarantino and feet thing. But there is that scene with Selma Hayek

ButtyOh

not necessarily weekly/monthly, but just whenever. I just really like the idea xP

SmokeAndACoffee

weekly/monthly idea: The Re-Watch! pick a movie seen before, possibly even ones watched here in the beginning of the channel, and reexamine it with new/fresh eyes (*cough cough, "Lord of the Rings"). Can comment on them from a more critical perspective as a seasoned tv/movie reaction persony person =)

Chris Henderson

If you're doing collections of specific Directors, like Nolan and Tarantino, I suggest you start watching Stanley Kubrick. I'm surprised to see there on none that you've posted.

RJ Films

Happy Feature Friday Nat. Haven't seen this since it came out at the cinema which I noticed was 21 years ago!! Crazy!! ha ha I don't remember a great deal about it so excited to watch it again with you today ๐Ÿ˜Š That was certainly crazy and fun. Very stylized with a lot of cool characters and scenes. I loved the composite score and songs. From so many different movies. The whistling cue is by Bernard Herrmann for the movie Twisted Nerve. Herrmann is best know for his work with Hitchcock, and his final score was for the movie Taxi Driver, so if you ever check that movie out, you will hear his work again. Thanks for a fun reaction today Nat. So much blood, but so many laughs ha ha. And as always, thanks for all your awesome work this week. look forward to the stream tomorrow. Have a brilliant weekend Nat ๐Ÿ’›
