When your Patreon host saves the movie… Cringey 😬 isn’t a strong enough word to describe the movie, respectfully ✊🏿. This was a tough watch for me. I practically preyed that they would turn in werewolves or run 🏃♂️ really fast through the forest just to breakup constant staring contests. (No words, just stares.) 😂 Unfortunately, I will likely pass on the next films in this series, breaking my habit of “completing the set”. Thanx.

2024-02-23 19:57:33 +0000 UTCYou made me laugh out loud several times during your reaction to this, Natalie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The movie, on the other hand, was atrocious. Bad boy wears leather jacket. Check! Bad boy reads books, making him deep and thoughtful. Check! Bad boy reads same books teenage girl audience has read in high school English class. Check! Bad boy has meaningless disagreement with virgin girl over books, which substitutes for actual relationship issues. Check! Bad boy overreacts out of jealousy, starting fight over someone else's treatment of virgin girl. Check! Bad boy trashes own house out of raging jealousy over virgin girl. Check! This in no way whatsoever is a red flag that virgin girl is getting involved with a violently jealous man who loses control over minuscule slights to himself or virgin girl. Wow. I'm only a third of the way through the movie. This is not worth me doing the whole thing for these jokes. Except I'll point out one major one, probably the biggest and most important element that will make women flock to a movie like this even as they joke about how terrible it is. Psychologists and sociologists note that the Number 1 female fantasy about their relationships that helps them to achieve orgasm is this: that they have taken a bad boy, a damaged soul, and fixed him with the magic of her love and her femininity. This is the ultimate female expression of power, that they can fix a man, that they can change him, tame him, from a bad boy into a respectable husband that they can show off to all her friends, make them jealous, that she won the prize, again, through her powerful love and femininity, and her sexuality. This, of course, is incredibly stupid, and you can ask around to any group of females of dating age how their efforts to change a man have worked out. Yet they all continue to try, so powerful is this fantasy, that they get into relationships and then ruin them as they constantly nag and complain trying to force someone to be a different person than what they really are. Because, unfortunately, they don't want a relationship with a person, with a real human being. What they want is a robot that looks human that will always say and do the right thing in every given situation and will otherwise turn itself off and let them do whatever they want to do and will never make any demands of her or, god forbid, ever tell her that she just might be wrong about something. That's why women will still like trash like this movie. Because the guy is a bad boy just long enough until they get into a relationship and then suddenly all those bad boy traits that attracted virgin girl in the first place have magically disappeared, and suddenly bad boy has been neutered and now just provides a new place to stay, and hugs and kisses virgin girl and has pillow fights with her. Because, as I explained, there's that female fantasy coming around. He's only a bad boy long enough for HER liking, for HER to fall in love with him, and he instantly changes into that tame fantasy, tamed by her love. Blech. Gross. But hey, gotta be fair about this here. Another fifty or sixty years of movies about female fantasy wish fulfillment and we should be caught up to all the MALE fantasy wish fulfillment we've been forced to consume in movies and TV for the last half century. Maybe then we can really start complaining. The ONLY reason I knew that is because they do the same skyline freeway shot that The Walking Dead did at the end of its pilot and on all its marketing. I did google the college location and it’s Emory University, also in Georgia.

This whole movie was like watching Twlight but with none of the vampires to make it interesting. I was literally comparing them both Edward & Bella so much I was laughing Hardin gave such serial killer vibes in the beginning and Tessa literally was Bella but somehow worse. I was glad it was finally over until you said at the end there was 4 MORE MOVIES.. oh god.
