2024-03-13 01:59:12 +0000 UTCI love how this show has very nuanced characters. Yabushige is pretty evil with him torturing people to death. But he's also very smart and charismatic. Buntaro was an abusive asshole, but also a very honorable and strong fighter with a pretty cool scene here. And Toranaga is wise and just, but also incredibly paranoid and ambitious. And he has a mischievous side that he showed by tiring John before racing him. It's not just black and white, an evil guy can be charismatic and a bad husband can be a brave fighter.

2024-03-12 17:55:33 +0000 UTCOne cool thing Blackthorne is that he's not just fluent in English and Portuguese, but also Spanish, Dutch (which he uses to speak to his Dutch crew), Latin and Greek. So it makes sense that he's so quick to pick up Japanese just by being around it.
