Help me pick a movie!

Title says it all! Some of these are definitely a bit different from one another lol. Looking forward to seeing what wins!

Comments

She has reacted to Saving Private Ryan, and as you would expect, it is top tier react.

mrhalfbit

As for Steven Spielberg, “Saving Private Ryan” is one of the most influential war films ever made, and “War Of The Worlds” (2005) is very underrated, in my book. 🙂

Trae King

I strongly recommend “King Kong” (2005) and even “The Hobbit” Trilogy (love them, don’t care), which were all directed by the great Peter Jackson who also directed “The Lord Of The Rings” Trilogy (which I know you already did reactions on in the past). 👍 Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg are two of my favorite filmmakers of all time. 🙂

Trae King

I would've voted for Lars and the Real girl but I knew it couldn't win so I voted The Big Short 💔

sleepless_dream

Same. Just annoying

PickettsChargingPort

If you haven't seen the big short, main emotions are: confusion/bewilderment/anger/disgust but it's also funny.

Dustin Duvall

its so good

Ben Gilshenan

Pedro Pascal would choose Paddington.

tezster

Some say Austin powers basically killed the spy movie. It wasn't until Jason Bourne that you get James bond again and it's done more in the Bourne style than the traditional.

PrayTellCaesar

hmmm yeah HItchhiker's tv show from 81 is better than the movie for me. Hard to get better than the original you grew up with sometimes. Austin for me in this list.

Ben Curran

i have to agree I love So I Married An Axe Murderer

Kevin B.

Need me some Austin powers!

Daniel McGuinness

I’m gonna sit this one out.. I can’t stand Austin Powers 😅

Purple Cowboy

I'm secretly rooting for Paddington, only because then you'll be closer to viewing the perfection that is Paddington 2 lol.

Noctis

Damn it I was really hoping for The big short to win this time.

Heliastein

Snatch 2000

Redrum Ritual

Her 2013

Redrum Ritual

Well, the Harry Potter movies are mostly just ok, but if she makes a poll with one of them on it, people would vote for it like crazy. It's just very beloved.

Franz Liszt

The Nice Guys

Tiger Chu

Given your reactions to other movies....i really think you will appreciate the humor of Hitchhiker's Guide. Also....Alan Rickman.

Zammis

I really don’t understand the appeal of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. The books are amazing. The movie, despite an incredible cast, is ok at best. Just my opinion, of course

Justtired

Lets go Big Short! It's such an important movie and perfectly(I mean perfectly) excuted. I guess I will settle for a reaction to one of the most iconic comedic roles of all time.

mrhalfbit

You won’t ever go for Iron Claw, I’m guessing

Alvin Everett

Agreed. I know a lot of people are pretty "meh" on Goldmember because it's just complete and utter nonsense, and feels like a series of sketches more than a movie, but I love that they just went balls to the wall and just went for the absurdity.

Jeff K

I love that movie so much. "Ooooh I hate the Colonel, with his wee beady eyes, and that smug look on his face, 'Ooooh, you're gonna buy my chicken, ooooooh!'"

Jeff K

If I remember correctly, Natalie appreciates more emotion-based films and series. I love Sci-Fi, so I voted for Hitch-hiker's. But that's a very secular, non-emotion based movie. Paddington is emotion based, but for the emotional depth of children. Austin powers is hilarious, no emotion and no logic or intelligence behind it, just based comedy. The other two I haven't seen. I guess it all depends upon what emotion we want to see from her...

Michael Adair

Lars and the Real Girl is WONDERFUL. It definitely won’t win, but this is Ryan Gosling at his best. Premise sounds odd, but it’s SO sweet.

F.O.T. Snax (Michelle)

wow, so many. I like Austin Powers but voted for The Big Short. I also really like Hitchhikers Guide but I know some purists didn't like this version of it.

Chris Lane- Venturi 3D

It looks like my pick (Austin Powers) might actually win this time. I'm a Gen Xer and my movie preferences don't seem much aligned with most voters on the site.

Reggie

Oh wow, I'm so happy Hitchhikers Guide is fighting for 2nd place here. It is kind of a niche movie, not something that was a huge box office or awards winner, so I'm hoping it makes it onto another poll sometime! That said, if you haven't watched the Austin Powers trilogy they really are must-watch comedies from the early 00's.

Erik Stevenson

Very slightly better, yes! Much better written!

—thoughtstorms—Keith—

Since it looks like Austin Powers will be the winner: There are 3 movies, and unlike most other comedy series, both sequels are better than the original. Which is not to say the original isn't great, but the series as a whole is typically what fans remember.

LookingForOwls

Unpopular opinion: So I Married An Axe Murder is a far better movie than Austin Powers.

Michael G. Munz

Agreed. Like, it's not a BAD movie, and I also realize it's an incredibly difficult book to adapt to the big screen, but it just fell short for me.

Jeff K

Austin Powers has one of the best opening credits OF ALL TIME 😆

Kiskotagan

Yeah. I was hoping for more from Hitchhiker’s. I had hoped it would do well enough to continue through all the books but that first movie was lacking in everything that made the book great.

mojo shivers

if you love music then there's an Indian Movie called Rockstar that would be a great watch-along; a great story, and an evergreen album of songs. it's on Prime Video with Eros.

Ahmad Zain

Great news! I hope it wins

Natasha

I remember liking Austin Powers in high school but I rewatched it a few years ago and wasn't as funny as I remembered. The first movie is kinda tame compared to the sequels and there are too many dated '90s references. If Natalie is going to watch a ridiculous comedy I'd recommend THE NAKED GUN movies. The first two movies are must-watch cop comedy classics! I voted for The Big Short because it's funny, intense, and disturbing in a "WTF were they thinking!? Oh... $$$$$" way.

Rod Reavern

If The Big Short doesn’t win this time, please be sure to bring it back. Even if it’s not a movie that performs well for your channel, it’s a very important movie that needs to be shared with others (IMO). I think your analysis of it would be very, very interesting and make it more accessible to lots of folks that might feel it was out of their depth otherwise.

James McKey

1day, we can pray

Skellyp

Shes also said to be focusing more on movies and shorter shows. Attack on titan is almost 100 episodes. That’s probably not gonna happen.

jamie jones

Well, it’s a shame because it’s a part of the market that has a wide variety of very good stories. We can hope one day.

Skellyp

Paddington 1 and especially 2 are amazing and heart warming. Austin Powers is classic comedy but better for James Bond fans.

Adam Doyle

Paddington and it's sequel are great, disappointed it's not doing better.

The Hedge Knight

Yeah I love Austin Powers, voting for that

Jason Gillman

I've watched several reactors do it, and it's been totally fine.

Jeff K

I wonder how YouTube will react to Austin Powers type of Comedy in 2024 lol

Natasha

Austin and Hitchhiker's Guide are the only two I've seen, and I was super disappointed by Hitchhiker's Guide so almost by default, Austin wins for me.

Jeff K

I voted for Austin, but I just wanted to comment and say I appreciate your last couple of lines and wish more people would react in the same manner when the movie they least want to see win actually does.

Jeff K

We have to get Natalie into the Austin powers films. All 3 of them are just stupid fun comedy.

Thats MR. Baldamort

Just because others are willing to take the risk doesn't mean Nattie should do the same. Yes realistically nothing is gonna happen but reaction channels have been completely taken down in the past because of it and that is something she doesn't wanna risk :)

Danishprince

I love every version of The Hitchhiker's Guide, but the movie version is probably my least favorite, mostly because of the stuff they left out in order to insert a whole new subplot that didn't do much for me. The best parts are the parts lifted directly from the book, in which case you might as well just listen to the audiobook or the radio play. But I also know plenty of fans who vehemently disagree, so whatever! =D

Troy B.

......I mean, that is a fair point. But without spoiling for others or Nat if she reads this, the jokes haven't aged well in Austin Powers. Some yes, but not all. I get the whole movie series is a giant parody satire of the James Bond films and they are great...but watching Sam Rockwell and John Malkovich just be their goofy deranged selves is way more appealing than literal toilet humor, lol.

Game Wizard001

If you were to give a watch for the Hitchhiker’s BBC tv series, that would be a definite YES!

Mr. Bundy

Everyone does it successfully. Not a great excuse. Even bad medicine is doing it now. Only a matter of time. It’s a shame if not.

Skellyp

Paddington 1 AND 2 are AMAZING. My heart still can't handle it.

Julian G

Oh Attack on Titan won't likely ever be on a poll. She doesn't do anime because of the increased risk of issues regarding Copyright :)

Danishprince

adrianR31

But The Big Short is amazing must must must watch! It'll never win a poll so you have to squeeze it in somewhere

adrianR31

I would love the big short. Its the best movie on the list in my opinion

Henry Orchard

Hitchhiker's Guide is underrated and beautiful. Will definitely go over a lot of people's heads. I'm not mad at Austin Powers though.

adrianR31

This is a weird mix of movies but I'd have to go with Paddington or Lars and the Real Girl, which are both pretty wholesome films, in their own right (especially Lars which really surprised me). I was never a huge Austin Powers fan, always thought the schtick got old pretty quick, but I'm clearly in the minority there, as it got 2 sequels and is currently winning this poll. I'm sure it'll be a fun time either way.

Mike Hell

I feel the same way, but it's definitely less mainstream than Austin Powers.

Richard Thrust

The most popular is not always the best.

Jay Perry

Lars and the real girl is amazing but I fully understand people not knowing what they're getting into when hearing about for the first time. Suuuuch a wholesome comedy

Rick Orange

Austin is still pretty funny

Mastervodo

iykyk

Albiezushi

If you've never seen Austin Powers, everything else doesn't matter. 🇬🇧 💁‍♂️

Albiezushi

How is Hitchhiker's losing to Austin Powers!? I loved the movies as a kid, but they haven't aged as well as the others on the list. Plus Hitchhiker's has Allan Rickman. That should already make it more appealing.

Game Wizard001

On Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, most of the humor of the book is lost in the movie. Watch the movie, but I recommend only doing so after having read the book.

Chris Brown

One of the greatest shows/stories ever told. Imo

Skellyp

Attack on Titan. It’s a show, not a movie, but looking forward to it being on here one day.

Skellyp

Wow, I didn't know there were Big Short fans haha

Tim Brown

What a list! My top 2: the classic Austin Powers or the very funny & very informative "The Big Short"! Bale, Gosling, & Carrell were superb in this film!

Alan Felicia

AoT?

Danishprince

The Big Short easily

Ian

insert [I'm doing my part!] GIF here

Gunnar Rea

The Austin powers trilogy is great

Joseph salazar

Big short is really good

Lukas Weimar

Definitely The Big Short!

Deb Price

True, but important for people to see.

Thomas Wetherell

Austin Powers is funny for sure, but Hitchhikers Guide is a delightful movie that doesn't get enough love :)

Patrick Egan

Also depressing AF

Gunnar Rea

Waiting for AoT to be on one of these polls

Skellyp

The people need The Big Short

Brian Hernandez

Big Short is fantastic and should definitely win this one!

Danishprince

Someone needs to react to The Big Short. That movie is so damn funny.

Thomas Wetherell

Glad to see Austin is winning

Tentomushi

Happy Wednesday Nat. Probably the most eclectic poll you have ever posted ha ha 😄 I can't even begin to guess what's going to win, but I'm going to vote for Paddington, just because 😊 Have a great day Nat 💛

Darryl Low

Of those, Austin is the only one I would rewatch so it has to be that one.

mojo shivers

Oh man so many famous movies on this list I was a little worried but so far I trust the process. Austin powers let’s go
