Added 2024-08-27 13:00:08 +0000 UTCHey there!
I wanted some action, and I finally GOT SOME! (in the show, of course)
I'm so devastated by the loss at the end of this one, though. Looking forward to hearing what y'all think in the comments.
As always, thank you for your support here on Patreon. Until the next one, take care and stay golden :)

Really!? That sucks, are they going to put it in the next season?

2024-09-23 07:08:01 +0000 UTCI'm watching these episodes for the first time along with you. The guy who pulled the lord whatever from the water is his own bastard son as I understood the episode. Thats why she called his mother a beautiful woman.

2024-08-29 17:06:29 +0000 UTCI like Aegon a lot this season. Young and misguided but I think he's going to come back strong and a fan favorite next season.

2024-08-29 13:13:53 +0000 UTCAegon is the sleeper hit of the season, I kinda liked how they paralleled Viserys and Daemon with Aegon and Aemond. The older brother who doest’t want the throne and Aemond the wild younger brother. Difference is regardless of how much Daemon wanted the throne he would have never did what Aemond did.

2024-08-28 17:31:32 +0000 UTCIn the show Jon united the north and the wildlings, he got Dany and her armies and dragons into the fight, he's the reason Arya headed north, his plan brought Jaime. Sansa stayed in the north because Jon was at Castle Black and she got the Knights of Vale. Without him no one gets together to put up enough resistance so that Arya had a chance to kill the night king. He is the hero of the story.

2024-08-28 17:28:59 +0000 UTCI appreciate you clearing that up for me though I've forgotten much of the lore.

2024-08-28 16:47:16 +0000 UTCI don't recall Jon bringing everyone together but that's because I have ADHD so I'll take your word for it. That said, the long night was over in what seemed like a single winter. But I'm talking about the show. I only read the first two books. The fault lies with the GoT show runners (D&D). And partially with GRRM for letting them pass the books.

2024-08-28 16:42:40 +0000 UTCIt never says the prince who was promised would be the one to land the blow the kills the night king. They are the prophesied leader who would unite people against the long night. Jon got everyone together. Arya was headed to King's Landing until she found out Jon (that's Jon, not John) was at Winterfell. If not for him she wouldn't have been there to defeat the night king. He brought everyone together.

2024-08-28 14:42:15 +0000 UTCI think that it's written into reaction lore that it never ends well for anyone that Nattie gets attached to 😭

2024-08-28 13:17:17 +0000 UTCWhen Vagar first shows up you can see, hear, and feel her coming from LEAGUES AWAY AND SUDDENLY SHES ABLE TO SNEAK UP ON RHAENYS COMPLETELY SILENT OKAAAAAAAAAY
adrianR31
2024-08-28 01:37:44 +0000 UTCI find it ironic and ridiculous how this show stresses the importance of the song of ice and fire when we know that nothing ever comes of it. Arya, a Stark, ends up being the hero and John, a Targaryen, gets nothing. The song of ice and fire lasted 2 short battles.
adrianR31
2024-08-28 01:27:14 +0000 UTCDaemon and Harrenhal are the best part of this season by far. Actually Rhaenys and Aegon are pretty fantastic also.

2024-08-28 01:16:56 +0000 UTCI’m sure others have explained that Dragonstone, King’s Landing, and Rook’s Rest are right next to each other — so I’ll just say that Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon was the highlight of the season! He’s hot headed, yet insecure. He’s pathetic, yet comedic. More to the point he’s a product of the fact that his Father never loved him or spent time with him, and his Mother never showed him one bit of affection. To me, it was clear that Alicent’s obvious disdain for Aegon in the “do nothing” scene is what motivated Aegon to fly out and prove himself to her.

2024-08-27 23:11:33 +0000 UTCI think that's more the prime seasons of Thrones 3-5 that were built up by the first couple seasons of strong character development that I think House is following pretty close to. I think the next few seasons will definitely be similar based of what happens in the book. It's extremely facetious to say " we never get any of the action sequences" when there has been several major action set pieces and many minor ones across these first two seasons. That's incredibly reductive. If you want to argue it hasn't been enough than that's another story. Personally I've really liked the pace of the first two seasons, really reminds me of early Thrones building up to something bigger, but I'm someone who likes slower paced shows that rely on character building. Now if your one of the people that hasn't liked the writing or character decisions I don't really have anything to say against that other than I disagree. Completely agree with another commenters take that this season was missing the final two episodes, the finale felt more like a episode 8 of a 10 episode season.

2024-08-27 19:22:00 +0000 UTCYeah same, I was really annoyed with the show writers until I found out HBO cut those last episodes. When you know that, you realize this was a really great season with probably complete arcs, but you just didn't see the last 2 episodes. I hate greedy corporate execs, prolly read the script once and thought "nah cut the expensive finale, people will watch no matter what"
Oliver
2024-08-27 19:01:34 +0000 UTCWell I think a lotta people just don't know how close the two are. The show doesn't do a great job of making that a point, dragonstone and kingslanding are right across the bay. Some fun lore, Aegon the conquereror lived on Dragonstone before taking the mainland, and his first fort in Westeros was built on the coast of where he arrived from dragonstone, which eventually grew into kingslanding after he untied the kingdoms and was crowned. That's why they're so close
Oliver
2024-08-27 18:58:21 +0000 UTCI think this is a reductive take. It's true that GoT was at its highest when it leaned into dialogue-driven scenes (most especially when they adapted straight from George RR Martin's deft, yet impactful prose), but every episode of GoT, unlike House of the Dragon, did have action sequences spread out. We would cut away from dialogue scenes in King's Landing to Jon Snow battling Wildlings north of the Wall, or cut away from Robb and Catelyn strategizing to the Hound and Arya battling raiders in the Riverlands. House of the Dragon is simply a more static show -- where they talk about battles and raising armies, but we never get to see any of the purported action sequences.

2024-08-27 18:27:11 +0000 UTCAnyone complaining about distance traveled clearly doesnt understand how flying works, or how dragonstone and kings landing are mad close. Just sayin

2024-08-27 17:52:25 +0000 UTC100% understandable. Happens to myself as well whenever someone calls my fav shows "Not good". It's more the words used than anything else. I often see comments saying "This show is not good" a few words nothing else. People like to be vocal about what they like and dislike so it's just something people have to deal with under reactions.

2024-08-27 16:40:09 +0000 UTCOn my first watch I was disappointed by this season but after retwatching (and now on my 2nd rewatch with Nat) I really feel like the themes/character development are strong and consistent and if not for the fact that HBO cut the last 2 episodes we would have one of the best seasons of thrones ever with a fantastic mid season peak and a crazy finale
Agent September
2024-08-27 16:30:42 +0000 UTCI find the criticism about the lack of action in House pretty weird considering the best seasons of Thrones were all dialogue and world building heavy with a few action set pieces sporadically throughout a season. The worst seasons of Thrones( the last ones) went super action heavy and completely lacked a lot of that slow story and world building pace.
Jacob
2024-08-27 16:27:10 +0000 UTCLittleGalaxyBoy you are correct on all counts, I get worked up over words, call it a hang up. He said the show is bad.. that's it. Which is not true of course, however, people should say, "I don't like the show" or "on my opinion, the show is shit." I've been like this a long time, only the strong survive friendships with me. I will correct the way you speak. No hate, just correction, it's like word vomit, I can't shut up. (I have to add, the comment was brought on by the fact that I love the show, so I believe his opinion is shit, on my opinion.)

2024-08-27 16:06:39 +0000 UTCAnti Mutant Censorship... I blame the Friends of Humanity. Jesting, X-Men is pushed to Thursday as Nat decided to do a double feature for HOTD. Then maybe next week she'll do a X-Men '97 double feature it all depends. But X-Men '97 is not going anywhere.
LittleGalaxyBoy
2024-08-27 16:00:53 +0000 UTCI mean both HOTD and X-Men 97 are two beloved shows with amazing reviews, Both are up for Emmy awards yet it's still someone's opinion if they think X-Men '97 or HOTD are bad shows. People get too worked up over someone series opinion, though on the internet alot of the time it's just bait to cause discourse. But we still gotta respect other people's opinion even if we disagree. f hf comment gives zero insight into why the show is "not good" so it's not worth putting too much thought into it. We all know that both series are amazing in their own way filled with talent across all departments with so much effort put into them. It's far from a bad show but i guess it's not for everyone and that's fair.

2024-08-27 15:55:30 +0000 UTCits good for people who have an attention span and appreciate great film making. All of you complaining always just need something to whine about
Austin
2024-08-27 15:37:32 +0000 UTCHe did not state it as a fact at all lol.. He simply expressed his opinion very clearly
Danishprince
2024-08-27 15:20:41 +0000 UTCThe distance between Kings Landing and Dragon Stone is about the distance across San Francisco bay. In a later episode you'll get to see a character cross it in real time and get a better understanding of just how close they are.
Essero Eson
2024-08-27 15:00:03 +0000 UTCHe stated it as a fact, not an opinion. I only wanted to defend a show I like. Simple. I could say X-men 97 is the worst show to ever come out. How many would say I was wrong, and that's just an opinion? So what are YOU talking about?

2024-08-27 14:16:26 +0000 UTChmm, the majority of people would disagree, therefore, making that statement an opinion, not a fact. (Only correcting because you stated like it was fact and I love the show so far! Tad bit triggered lmao)
Marcus Carter
2024-08-27 13:34:55 +0000 UTCSweet! a double feature in one week! Can't wait to see your reaction to this. I knew the death in this one was going to get you cause you liked her so much. I was a tragic loss, she was a badass.
