I think people forget the little amount of action that was season one of GOT. It was all political intrigue, character development, and storytelling... not so much, spectacle.

2024-09-03 04:25:01 +0000 UTCJust a fun thing to look forward to that you reminded me of. hbo is currently making a series based off thr short stories about a knight and a bastard prince set about 70 years after this war ends. You reminded me bc the bastard prince, "Egg" or aegon, much later in the timeline becomes king, and bc of his adventures with the knight he's really kind and helpful to the smallfolk and actually does a lot to increase their rights. And then he's killed. None of that is gonna happen in the show tho it follows him at like age 13. Hope to see u react to that some day

2024-09-03 04:15:56 +0000 UTCI see with a lot of reactors that when Rhaenyra wants to fight for her crown, it makes sense. But a lot of people don’t extend that same understanding to Aegon. Aegon and Rhaenyra actually have huge parallels in that they both bemoan their lack of agency and the paltry amount of respect they are given. The difference is that Rhaenyra is disrespected for being a woman while Aegon is looked down on for being a young puppet king. Also, what Aemond did was a snake move and shortsighted imo. He burned one of their own dragons, which makes them more vulnerable. Also, Aegon never really tortured Aemond as far as I can recall. He pranked him by giving him a pig and he laughed at him in the brothel, but I don’t think either justifies being burned alive.

2024-09-02 15:28:15 +0000 UTCYeah, HotD Season 2 is not bad but it sure is spinning its wheels a lot. The were issues with the writers strike, the episode count was cut from 10 to 8 and you can really tell.
