FIRST TIME WATCHING: X-Men '97 S1E7

Hey folks!

Hope you all had a great weekend! I'm so excited to get back into this show! It's SO DARK AND SAD...but I really do enjoy it.

Here is this week's schedule:
MON: X-Men '97 S1E7
TUE: X-Men '97 S1E8
WED: Poll
THU: Howl's Moving Castle
FRI: Longlegs (let the scary movies begin...)

For those who were hyped about Fast and the Furious, I will be resuming that franchise next week. I'm going to focus more on movies in the coming weeks.

As always, thank you for your support here on Patreon. Until the next one, take care and stay golden :)

Original Series: X-Men '97

Comments

While that’s the logical explanation, I like to imagine that after Gambit’s funeral, Kurt followed Rogue’s path of destruction, apologized for his sister, and asked which way she may have gone.

Brenna Shultz

Loved your reaction. Before you watch 2 Fast 2 Furious, please watch the 2 Fast 2 Furious Prelude. Thx.😊😊

I was more of an 80s kid but even though I was in high school when the original show aired, as a comic nerd Ioved the animated series, and I remember how many people loved Rogue, and I get it. So it was so disappointing for a lot of fans including myself how they treated her in the movies, that's why I'm loving this show. I also feel like they never did Scott/Cyclops right, they made it so much about Wolverine everyone else was big timed. I always wondered what someone like, say, Guillermo Del Toro, might have done with the X-Men, but there are a few more story lines in the canon, fingers crossed they get it right, X-Men deserve it. And something fun to ponder is who you'd cast for YOUR X-Men... (I wanna be Nightcrawler, Natalie would look perfect as Rogue)

I said BREAKNECK SPEED!! But it’s such a rush that it works 😭😭

Daniel McGuinness

Wow! Just saw the trailer for Longlegs and I'm already nervous! LOL!

Alan Felicia

I think Natalie should watch Heartstopper before season 3

DP

I second an Agatha All Along viewing!

Loving these reactions! It always makes me laugh when Natalie asks how they found someone and how they got there so fast etc… Completely forgetting that Jean is a telepath that has access to Cerebro and Kurt is a teleporter. 😆😆😆 Can’t wait for the next 3 episodes!!!

1.) Like LittleGalaxyBoy pointed out, Remy had a brother named Robert. Both of them were members of the Thieves Guild at one point, but Remy eventually left and joined the X-Men. Then in season 1, he returns to take care of some unfinished business involving Robert. The last thing he said was that he would never return. Now look where we are. 2.) Amelia was another former love interest for Charles. She can turn her body into mist. We saw her during the Asteroid M 2-parter in season 4. We meet her as one of the Acolytes, a group of mutants who were imprisoned on Genosha and looked up to Magneto. One of the mutants in the group was the one who would end up double-crossing him when their ideals collided. His name was Fabian Cortez. Amelia learned the truth and helped the X-Men defeat him. She even helped Remy break out of confinement. 3.) In the comics, Madripoor was mostly associated with X-Men. That’s why legally speaking there was a time when it wouldn’t have been appeared in the MCU, but its’ debut in Falcon & Winter Soldier was made after the Disney-Fox deal was concluded. 4.) Unlike the movies, Robert Kelly was an ally to the X-Men in the cartoon for quite some time. After they rescued him in the season 1 finale, he started seeing mutants in a different light. His original voice actor has passed away. Now he’s voiced by Morph’s original voice actor. Morph is now voiced by JP Karliak.

Stop giving out everything.

Christopher Henderson

Thank you Nat :)

Derder

Boliver Trask is not exactly a new character to you Nat. He was played by Peter Dinklage in the movies.

Andy

Mainly The Penguin

LeSteeler

None of them are really good

jamie jones

Honestly like half the sequels are better than the first one tbh

Razor Bikini

Fast and furious is trash. First one was alright then it’s just so bad. The batman sequel show the penguin is out, just saying.

jamie jones

So yea cable and the xmen have met before, but scott and Jean never knew that was their son until now. As for magneto most people theorize that magneto survived the sentiental blast due to the green boy Leech he was holding, whose mutant power depowers those around him, but thats merely speculation. It could also been bastion somehow. And the xmen all know Charles is alive but they are under the belief he would never be able to return due to the care he would need.

Rey

I hope you watch Agatha All Along & The Penguin

Alvin Everett

Recommend it in the next suggestions, Ik I will

LeSteeler

Hey, I hope you watch The Penguin series.

Clinton Brown

Happy Monday Nat. Back from your successful weekend. Whoohoo! 😊 Looking forward to more X-Men and watching Howl's with you. Definitely curious to hear your thoughts on Longlegs at the end of the week.

The Thieves Guild: At the funeral, we see several key members of his "adopted" family, the Thieves Guild. Among them is Bella Donna, his blonde ex-fiancée, along with Pierre, an elder with grey hair, and Robert LeBeau, Gambit's brother. A new addition to the group is Questa, a woman with striking black and white hair, who is part of the Guild but didn't appear in the original series. Captain America: Captain America's appearance in X-Men '97 caught many off guard, well... Unless you saw the mid-season trailer that spoiled his appearance. He’s voiced by Josh Keaton, who also provided the voice of Steve Rogers in What If...?. Though Keaton is most well known as the voice of Spider-Man in Spectacular Spider-Man, a few games and even voiced Agent Spider in Invincible. This isn’t Cap’s first appearance in the X-Men animated universe. He previously showed up in X-Men: The Animated Series episode "Old Soldiers" (Season 5), where Logan remembers a World War II mission fighting alongside Cap against the Red Skull. However, X-Men '97 marks his first present-day appearance, suggesting that, as in the comics, he was discovered and rescued by the Avengers when they found him frozen in the ice decades later. The Avengers were even mentioned in the first episode of Spider-Man: The Animated Series, confirming their existence in this animated universe. They were most likely formed around the same time as the X-Men. But why the lack of Avengers focus back then? In the '90s, X-Men and Spider-Man were Marvel's biggest properties, so there wasn't much demand for an Avengers show. However, all the key characters, besides Ant-Man did appear across various shows. Iron Man, Hulk (who’s referenced in this episode), Thor, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and others made small cameos either in X-Men: The Animated Series, Spider-Man: The Animated Series, or had their own shows like The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man. But we never saw them together as a team simply because of no real demand. Captain America also has ties to the Weapon X program, also known as Weapon Plus. The program was inspired by Project Rebirth, the program that created Cap. Steve Rogers is credited as Weapon I, while Wolverine is, of course, Weapon X, the tenth "super-soldier" experiment.
