FIRST TIME WATCHING: The Fast and the Furious

Happy Feature Friday Folks!

I bet no one saw THIS one coming lol...

I've had this weird idea stewing in my brain for a while. I want to make one big, epic YouTube video where I react to as many movies from this franchise as possible. So this is the beginning of that journey.

I promise to still react to a variety of films in the coming weeks. I actually may take a break from the series soon to focus more on movies in October. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

As always, thank you for your support here on Patreon. Until the next one, take care and stay golden :)

Original Movies: The Fast and the Furious

Comments

Love these movies! You have to watch the whole series - they get pretty stupid after 7. But.. they're fun and they know they're stupid lol

Timothy Tillman

It wouldn't be a proper Nat's reaction if she didn't forget the after credits scene lol!

Yee Kao

Oh god give me a break lmao.. that's a shame.. cuz they are good films

CB33

Why would you just assume people don't want to watch this? Lol.. its a classic and loved by LOTS of people.. some of them are better than others, but as long as paul walker is in it it, it's good.. Tokyo drift is my least favorite of the series.. you can honestly stop watching after 7.. that's Paul's send off and imo the ending of the franchise

CB33

Ayyeee I Had to join the Patreon for this series!!!

Louie

It’s hard to believe that they made this movie when I was about five years old. Dom’s house and market take place in East LA, but they actually filmed in Angelino Heights which neighbors Echo Park. The market itself is real, but it’s called Bob’s Market. They don’t sell sandwiches, but they do sell Fast & Furious toy cars and other merch. These films are the reason that Angelino Heights has become so popular, but that’s also become a nuisance for the residents to the point where drivers started doing donuts in front of the market. So they had to implement speed bumpers and more traffic signs to minimize trouble. The house is also uphill on Keningston Road not too far from the market. If you want to visit someday, don’t stay in front of the house for too long. Someone still lives there.

Aldo Gonzales

Omg I'm so happy that you are watching these films! But Nat please hear me out lmao. You (based on previous reactions) are very logistically based when reacting. Let me tell you. After the fifth ish movie these films do not give a rats ass about being realistic. So please when you watch them (and I hope you do them all if possible) please watch them with just having fun in mind. They are fun AF and action based. Each movie goes how can we make cars more action based and they do that lol. So just don't think too much into them and have fun bc they are an awesome and fun watch if you let them be.

Jason Blakeman

Please watch the prelude to 2 fast 2 furious before watching the movie. Thanks

Dave Walker

Oh, come on. FF9 is totally 100% realistic.

Michael G. Munz

They are just a bit goofy, but a lot of fun

Jock

Nat fair warning going foward. Non of these movies are based in reality. Its just mindless action 😂

MJ Eid

My own fun way of viewing and showing these movies is [not story related, but Potential of minor SPOILER] watching 3 after 6, but watching the mid credits scene of 6 after 3, then continuing with 7 and onwards

Darchangel

i for one am here for these. as a class of 01 alum, the first one here is especially near and dear.

Katelyn Burns

I love having an excuse to rewatch these and now I have another one! Not that I ever needed one before haha.

Darchangel

Love that you are giving these a chance. Great reaction! They are just good popcorn movies. This came out when I was 18 and helped cement my love for cars. The first 3 movies are a bit different from the rest of them, more car oriented but the campy/cheesy goodness is there. 4 was a tough watch but 5 is really good. I'd love to see you watch through 5.

Coresy

The odds of her watching something where she HAVE to watch a lot of other content first is really low

Danishprince

In the vibe of old Vin Diesel movies, the Riddick movies are great! I'm glad to watch the FF movies with you for sure!

Heliastein

I am in for the Full Ride. You may find this series to be the "Elden Ring" of film. You think its not really your kind of thing, next thing you know you can't stop...

Dan Careaga

Instead of Jason Statham, or alongside Jason Statham, may I suggest going down a rabbit hole of Jackie Chan movies? it'd be cool to see you react to Hong Kong cinema, especially with a legend like Jackie.

Noctis

I unironically love this series. I saw the first one 3 days in a row in theaters when it came out. If you make it that far, I personally say to stop at 7. Thanks for the fun video Nat!

Koonce

I'm legitimately so excited for this series of movies. I love these dumb movies.

MightyHobo

I will be gladly watching along for the first five of these, after that I'm out.

Lukas Weimar

Agreed

LionBro

Can't believe your one of the people who's never seen The Fast and the Furious. Back when it was really good. Now it's just The Dull and the Stupidest.

Redrum Ritual

Definitely recommend Pitch Black for Natmares. It's not super scary, and Vin Diesel is such a badass in it. One of his best characters other than Dom. It had been a while since I'd seen this. It was fun. And good god I know all movies cast beautiful people, but this one was crazy. Even all the extras looked like they could have been models!

Marty McGee

Ejecto seato cuz!!!!!

Ashley

toes. at least the first few. you have to try to not enjoy it, or think you're above it somehow. It's just so fun. EJECTO SEATO CUZ

Dale Diaz

I always wanted a Nissan Pulsar GTiR(for those that dont know it was a compact hatchback with a turbo SR20 and the AWD system from an R32 GTR). but I settled for a 4wd Honda Civic. (1987 Honda Civic Rt4wd Wagovan.) I've also always had my eyes on a Mazda 323GTX and a Mitsubishi Gallant VR4. I have a type I guess.

Ashley

Missed a end credit scene btw, just about all the films will have one keep that in mind

TheNamez OG

Omg it was such a great time. 90s Japanese car culture is peak aesthetic. I was young and riced my 240 out the first time. After a small accident I ordered the front clip from an s13 to convert it. Then while parked it used the shop someone crashed into and totaled it. I dream of owning another one some day. Or an r33 😅

adrianR31

Truly this movie basically informed my whole teens and early 20s. Me and all my friends bought 240s and Civics. I had a 240sx coupe with an RB20DET and another buddy had a S14 with an RB26DETT. We even did some light crime by illegally importing a few R32 Skylines and registering them as S14s.

Ashley

I think she will be pleasantly surprised by this series over all. It gets dragged by people who don't get them. But they aren't any worse or dumber than marvel movies.

Ashley

I was just scrolling around looking for something to watch and saw you're doing F&F. This series is an instant sub for me. Hope you do them all cause I will watch! Not that 5 bucks a month from one person is enough to convince you to watch such a long series of movies but its the thought that counts(?). Anytime someone reacts to F&F or A Knights Tale I am compelled to join their patreon for that full length reaction. Thanks Nat.

Ashley

Does nat know about how special "Furious 7" is? Paul Walkers last film that he couldnt even finish because he passed away in a car wreck. I hope regardless of what Nat thinks of this series, that she sees it as just a bunch of dumb fun with cars and action and sees how fun the actors are having with mjority practical effects.

Thats MR. Baldamort

It's been over 10 years since I watch the first 3 movies, I'm all cool with it, as most are probably are.

Daniel Vezina

5,6 and 7 are the best ones so hope you make it to those

Daniel Casillas

If you plan on watching Transformers One on this channel in the future, then you should watch some, if not all, of season one and two of the original cartoon from the 80's. And then you HAVE to watch the 1986 movie on the channel. Watch the movie before watching season 3.

Michael Martinez

MENNNAAAAAGGEEEEEE

TokyoLopez

I am all on board fast and furious marathon until Tokyo Drift! Then I lose interest haha

kikoyito

Absolute banger of a movie!!!

Nick Freer

I've asked her to do that but she said, she doesn't like the director, if I remember correctly, but I do hope she does it

nexus

I'm pretty excited about this!! Heads up - Fast Five (Is largely considered the high water mark of the series)

Eric Brown

Nat, if you're paying for an editor, you need to have a talk with them. In this video, the film is off by a second with your reaction, and this (or worse) is a semi-regular thing for your patreon videos. And whose idea was it to have the timer count down for HotD (and other series), and include commercials and stuff in it? Just start when the actual episode starts and count up from 0:00 like normal, it's pointless to even have it otherwise.

Tomas

For your movie ideas, you could do some more Keanu movies, like Point Break, Bill & Ted, Constantine.

Johnny

As with everything the idiots ruin it for everyone else who has been doing it for years...

Ben Curran

Watch yo watch yo watch yo back! (I believe that was the song in that scene lol)

Chen

Oof, I have a personal issue with this movie lol, it pretty much single handedly destroyed the street racing culture in my home town. I grew up in Ontario, California, about 35 miles east of LA, and we had street racing going back to the 60s when the Ontario Speedway was open. California has had a distinct car culture almost since there have been cars, lowriders, hot rods, street racers, and Southern California in particular has been a hot bed for all kinds of innovations actually, often changing the auto industry. So when I was a teenager in the 90s, Friday and Saturday nights would be the street races on the long streets in the industrial and warehouse part of town where there was no traffic at night, it was pretty awesome, all kinds of cars, mostly American muscle cars but all kinds of custom jobs really, I saw a little Nissan pick up truck just annihilate a Camaro once, and a 60s Volkswagen Beetle so strong it had wheelie bars because the front end would fly up otherwise when it took off from the line, lots of great cars. Then this movie came out and all of sudden EVERYONE and their cousin was at the races, it got stupid, real fast. And then it was so high profile the cops HAD to bust it up, especially because with so many idiots showing up for the scene and not the cars, it really just got stupid and people started getting hurt. Within just a few years of this movie the scene was dead, it had become priority one for the local cops and that was it. Bummer because it was pretty awesome before that. Anyway, I do kind of like the first three movies, Tokyo Drift is my favorite, after that I tuned out, but I'll probably tune back in for Nat's reactions.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Oh and you missed the scene at the end Nat! :P @ 1:46:00

Ben Curran

now days the youngens call it galaxy gas cause thats a brand that pretty much sells it as flavoured drugs

jamie minnell

NOS is actually a company name, Nitrous Oxide Systems. Clearly a big time sponsor. Did you know: Nitrous oxide when burned in an internal combustion engine is an oxidizer, it "releases" oxygen and thus adding horsepower. It's been used by hot rodders and professional drag racers for many decades and was actually first used in WW2 on some fighter aircraft. A common slang term is "throttle in a bottle".

Keith Jacobsen

I miss the thoughts at the end, even if it's only a couple minutes

Kevin Farrell

i hope one day you will also, if you haven't already, watch all Pixar/Disney films in release order starting from A Bugs Life

FatLittleButterfly

next time u gotta do transformers 1 movies just randomly and i'm excited for u to watch more of fast and furious lol

Arry

You're so right. 7 was the perfect ending, and they really should've left it there.

Giancarlo Gasparin

5 really took this franchise to a whole 'nother level.

Giancarlo Gasparin

Im excited for random content. So here is my weekly comment to ask for ya'lls support to get SICARIO in a poll.... Thank you.<3

Modders

haha shit i sure didnt expect this one Nat! But I am excited for it 100% .

Ben Curran

He didn’t say they were in Arizona nat! He called Brian “Mr Arizona” 😂

Daniel McGuinness

Just subbed for this, hope you continue the series. at least until 5 haha

Peter Moe

Just double drop next Wednesday with a poll and 2 Fast 2 Furious

Daniel McGuinness

These movies are actually good for the most part 😅 I’d say they’re pretty consistent right up until 7 or 8 The 4th one is where they perfect the formula for the rest of the franchise tbh - but anyway these movies are ELITE 🤬🤬🤬 Dom, Letty and Brian are my GOATs, you get so invested I still haven’t seen Fast X tho I could. I just haven’t.. and Hobbs and Shaw doesn’t count

Daniel McGuinness

Sooo here for this! FAMILY!🔥

Patrick

For Natmare maybe this year going old school??? Going back to the 60s and 70s Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, Rosmary's Baby, Magic, and Carrie.

John Liebling

Maybe you should try two Vin Diesel films... The Chronical of Riddick and for Natmare in October "Pitch Black"

John Liebling

There are 250 Oscar winning movies with an F in the title. Maybe Nat can create a variety of polls filled with Friday features.

John Liebling

These films are hilarious and great and shit and emotional and everything. There's a reason they're so high up in the statistics.

Connor Ellis

Dom had a personality in the earlier films, I miss it. Also Tokyo Drift is my favorite one of them all.

Kyle Turning Robe

I honestly do not care about that stuff as long as the movies are fun but the dynamic between the characters clearly changes and the focus shifts and it’s just not the same.

djKENTO

I think it would be fun for Nat to react to a Harold Lloyd movie...he was literally born 100 years before Nat in 1893...that's only 28 years after Abraham Lincoln was shot. Harrold was 10 when the Wright Brothers first flew. He was also born only 18 years after the first telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell.

John Liebling

I said of the Fast and Furious franchise around #7 or #8, "The Fast and the Furious movies are stupid and ridiculous and nonsensical and I will never stop watching."

Ryan Dodds

To address the intro, "Ethically," as long as you're watching all the other things you're watching, you're free to watch whatever the heck else you want. *pause* That said, if every Feature Friday becomes a Fast Furious Friday for the next three months, that would get tiresome. =D

Troy B.

It’s not entirely down to PWs death. Multiple leads in the franchise had written into their contracts that their characters “could not lose a fight” which is insane for a series about a group of underdogs.

Jacob King

"definitely a little silly, but fun and satisfying" should've been on the poster'

JLee

To answer your question of when it gets off the rails… After Paul Walker dies. I want to like them after 7… but god damn they do not make it easy. There is a charisma vacuum after that man is gone.

djKENTO

Oh so Nat is going to watch them all? I've only watched like 4 of them. I guess I'll finally have a reason to watch the rest.

Boomcity

you dont have to watch

FateMalone

FAMILY!

Thomas Richter

I'm happy to see a reaction to this movie from you and I'd like to see your reaction to all of them, but I get this franchise has mixed opinions and yours may change at some point. I haven't seen the reaction yet as I will soon but if you haven't commented in the reaction about whether you'll be watching this series in release or chronological order, have you decided yet?

JDG

Time for the Bollywood of Hollywood, at least once u get to the later ones :D

samuel Jakob

Yeah they're fun movies, it does get ridiculous eventually though, but still fun lol. I'm pretty sure they eventually play into how ridiculous it gets as a nod to the audience and somehow manages to not bring you out of story, it kind of becomes the comedy relief.

Marcus Carter

Also, for future reference, some of the movies have post-credit scenes just in case you miss them.

Adam O Driscoll

Variety is the spice of life as they say 😂 enjoy this ride and selfishly I hope you make it through to the end.

Adam O Driscoll

I love this franchise

Daniel Casillas

I'm so happy you are doing this franchise. It's my favourite "comfort" franchise for various reasons.

Adam O Driscoll

Definitely watch 2F2F but just be aware that it is by far the worst in the franchise and don't base any choices for the rest on that movie. That being said, I still think you'll enjoy it, it's a different vibe, though.

Josh Noe

Yes, please. Do them all.

Toasty Overlord

The opening scene gets mirrored in the "Cars" scene when Mack and McQueen are out on the highway.

Brian

Bring on the Fast and Furious movies!! Always a good movie to watch as long as you turn your brain off!! You should also try for your next "watch'em all" series all of the Guy Ritchie movies and all of Mathew Vaughn movies

PopeyeNelson

Also more on a general note: I never really use the polls, I ignore them and I get why it is a "selling point" as a feature for different patron levels, but I don't need / want it. I want you to watch movies you want to watch, so hearing you decided to watch this movie just because you want it (kinda ignoring existing polls i guess) is a huge plus. I can much more enjoy it knowing you wanted to watch it even without polls.

KaffeeKind

I have to say I love this surprise! I was a big fan of the franchise and although I understand why many people liked the fifth one for me that was the point where it went bad. My guilty pleasure favorite will always be the second one :)

KaffeeKind

This'll be a wild ride (pun intended)

PrayTellCaesar

Ahhh shucks, no post credit watch? Everyone misses it lmao

TokyoLopez

True. Also in fairness it's only one film out of place so we will see

James Bartley

Time for FAMILY!

djKENTO

I wonder if you can make it to "Fast 96 race across the universe"

Marcus Carter

Oh god…please don’t watch this whole franchise….

mrhalfbit

This is brilliant

calum1

YES! Do them all! There are obviously some good, some bad, but the franchise as a whole is 100% worth a watch. I will second the release order comment. Chrono order will just make it more confusing. They do a good job of clearing up early confusion in the later ones

Josh Noe

Correction: 8 is The Fate of the Furious, and 9 is just F9 or F9: The Fast Saga. The delightfully inconsistent names of these films are one of the many beautifully deranged things about them.

Razor Bikini

I second all of this.

Giancarlo Gasparin

So thrilled that you’re finally watching these. Such a uniquely insane franchise that I used to hate until I watched them and fell in love. 5-7 is the peak but there are good ones outside that too. And even 2 Fast 2 Furious, which is easily the worst, is still entertainingly bad. Just don’t watch them in chronological order like some are saying, there’s no way to do that in a way that makes sense, and it’s a worse experience. Just watch in release order.

Razor Bikini

Id like Nat to do that series one day, only need to watch the first trilogy don't really care about the films after

James Bartley

Forgot to Add Fun Facts about this Franchise - Diesel left the series after the original but was lured back by the Studio, The 3rd film, Tokyo Drift, was a soft reboot but Universal panicked, made a last minute deal w/ Diesel (gave Riddick franchise) to cameo & come back to the Franchise, and yes, the drama rift between Diesel & Dwayne Johnson was Real! The original film's director, Rob Cohen was one & done, while Justin Lin directed 5 of the movies but left during production of the last film, F9, due to a rift with none other than Vin Diesel. LOL! You're Welcome.

Alan Felicia

Essentially the only one out of place is Tokyo Drift which in film release order is number 3 but in terms of watching in order it may make more sence for you to watch It in chronological order rather than release order. I don't want to give away any spoilers, however watching Tokyo Drift before 4, 5 & 6 will spoil a certain story, assuming you get that far with how crazy the films get in the future. Honestly I think you will have a blast watching them

James Bartley

Chronologically I goes: The Fast and the Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Fast and Furious, Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Furious 7, Fast & Furious 8, Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, Fast & Furious 9, and Finally Fast X. I don't know why they can't jus number them correctly but that's film making I guess.

James Bartley

Natalie for your ease I think my best advise is just embrace how wacky it gets in the later films, the main thing to latch on to is the story line. There's only one movie out of place in terms or chronological order.

James Bartley

I'm actually really down for it. It's a franchise I absolutely love. It does get a bit crazy and sometimes super silly in terms of what the do in the stunts, but alot of it is don't practically.

James Bartley

Wow! Never thought Nat would react to this Franchise that will never die LOL! The early ones are pretty good especially the original IMO (Tokyo Drift is underrated, 4/5 were the best of the series). Looking forward to Nat's reaction to Deadpool & Wolverine in the 1st Friday of October (hopefully)!

Alan Felicia

The irony that Jason Statham shows up in this series.

Giancarlo Gasparin

I think Nat’s going to be in for a big surprise if she makes it to 5-7. It’s so weird to see a franchise peak in the middle, but those 3 were legitimately good movies in their own right.

Giancarlo Gasparin

yo nat i don't know why you're so preemptively excusing but we love fast and furious lol

Dale Diaz

Okay well this was unexpected 😂😂

Kyle

I only saw short scenes of this on a distant TV with the sound too low to hear dialogue from my distance. I was donating plasma, so i could only see the bigger stunts and live action machismo. I'm sure it's better than the wack glimpses i got made it seem. (C:

—thoughtstorms—Keith—

God i hope you dont react to all of em, these movies are fucking big dumb😅😭😅

Rey

I think I'm going to wait and watch this reaction tonight when I'm a little more "elevated" for the Shakespearen levels of dialogue from this movie. I say this but it was my favorite movie to watch when it came out on DVD when I was 18. 🤣

Boomcity

Oh my god this is scary I was literally thinking about this movie this morning and wondering if you would ever do it. Get out of my brain.

Rob E

What a surprise lol and RIP Paul Walker he was the nicest guy ever bet him and Keanu reeves would've been great friends

Narutoanime16

It's a welcomed surprised. I do enjoy most of the franchise. Also a movie recommendation for Natmare season is The Crow (1994)

Juan Colorado

Oh damn yeah definitely didn't see this happening! Personally I enjoy 1-5 but after that it just becomes too dumb :D

Danishprince

Oof, I have no interest whatsoever in watching these movies, but I hope you like them!

Erik Stevenson

Nice! It's been a while since my jaw dropped for a reactor/film combo, I love the first one, fourth, fifth and sixth...... two and three are ok and you will see why when you get to them in my opinion, but the fourth is where it picks up again! Enjoy the ride Nat! No pun intended 😁 and selfishly just cause I love the F&F franchise as a whole the faster you react to them the better lol but that's just me 😊

dieselbeast

Transformers waiting room continues I guess lol...

Ridley

RIP PAUL WALKER

adrianR31

you WHAT

Peter Yocum

After part 3 the franchise becomes fully self aware and gets more and more ridiculous. If you don't like these movies it's because you're taking them too seriously.

adrianR31

The Jason Statham movie idea is a good one! Crank, The Meg, Snatch, Spy. He's got so many!

Chris H

ROFL. Saw this seven times in theatres. I had a '93 240sx with a Bomex Japan body tanabe catback, custom fenders and hood, shaved door handles, tangelo pearl paint from house of kolors. I was 17. It was a good time. Phenomenal film.

adrianR31

Which isn’t to say this isn’t a fun surprise. If there was ever a reason to rewatch, it’s with you.

Nathan Elkin

Well shit, I wonder how long it takes before it seems silly. My guess is movie 4 or 7. I don’t even remember 6 and stopped watching after 8.

Nathan Elkin

Hell yea!!

Brian E

This is another film series that I've never watched before, it will be interesting to watch it with you Nat. This is the great thing about watching Nats reactions, you never know what could happen next lol

Baggie Mark

Happy Fast and Furious Friday Nat. Ha ha you're right. We never saw this coming. Looking forward to watching it with you, and seeing your epic YT video 😊 Damn Nat, that was a fun watch with you. These movies don't pretend to be anything there not. You're just along for the ride, and they just get bigger and crazier as the series goes on, and the action is just some of the best the movies has to offer. I look forward to the next one. Thanks for your awesome reaction today Nat, and for all your great work this week. Looking forward to your stream later 💛
