It really is a 6/10 movie but the vibe is 10/10 for most of it

2024-10-18 23:45:57 +0000 UTCOh wow, surprisingly, I really enjoyed this movie, way more than 2Fast, though I'll grant 2Furious that it tried to keep the (incredibly cheesy) humour alive a lot more. The only parts here I didn't like was when... basically any character had any dialogue whatsoever lmao. Good lord. Super happy I had Smoldering Nat and Southern Mrs Gold at my side. Please never stop.

Granted people were still kind of doing car shows on release night of these movies back then. So it was a ton of car guys there.

Aside from all that, all the rest of the characters were kinda forgettable, as noted by you and everyone else almost always forgetting the main character's name lmao.

2024-10-08 00:17:50 +0000 UTCThis movie used to be my least favourite of the bunch as a kid but I’ve since realised that its actually a fun watch, great aesthetic with the neon of Japan, introduces a fun new gimmick (drifting) and Han 🥹❤️ Like this is how I discovered drifting 😂 as far as I know Fast and Furious invented it okay And let’s be sure not to confuse the outrageous with the absolute SICK. If you’re on the rollercoaster nat you might as well enjoy it, we haven’t even REACHED outrageous yet 😂 Edit: it’s amazing how much my interest in this movie drops when (blank) dies

2024-10-07 20:21:43 +0000 UTCOther than the fact that you miss details like names and what's going on by talking too much over the dialogue, it was a nice watch and it looks like you enjoyed this one more over the 2F2F one. I didn't mind the 2nd movie but it definitely wasn't my favorite. A lot of people's favorite would be Fast 5, Tokyo Drift and the original. Can't wait for the next one as the family will be in the movie again!

Secondly, I don't know if you mentioned it/ didn't know/ couldn't tell, but Twinkie is played by Bow Wow (I had his album from back in the day when he was Lil Bow Wow). Thirdly, Lucas Black that plays Sean is from Alabama hence the accent, you should really check out Sling Blade (1996) which stars Billy Bob Thornton and the movie Friday Night Lights (2004) funnily enough also with Billy Bob Thornton. Fourth, the fisherman in the blue outfit that comments on Seans early learnings on how to drift, is actually the real-life "Drift King" Keiichi Tsuchiya. And last but not least, best soundtrack of all the movies and we need more Southern Natalie 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The fisherman is Keiichi Tsuchiya, the real life Drift King. He is widely credited for popularizing the driving style. RIP Han, taken too soon. Forever my favorite F&F character.

The first time I heard of him was in middle school when he released a song called Shortie Like Mine. I also saw him in a movie called Like Mike. About the guy with missing fingers in the last race of the movie, I dunno if that was special effects or not. However, that’s actually something that the Yakuza do in real life. It’s called yubitsume or finger shortening. They have their fingers cut as a form of punishment. I saw an interview from this guy named Poudii. And also hope that you had a birthday toast too 😊 Excited for more crazy F&F this week 😄 This was the only F&F movie that I hadn't seen to date. Skipped over it mainly because I knew it didn't involve the main characters from the first ones. It definitely had a more soap opera feel to it, but it was a fun time and certainly a fun reaction Nat - the chair-spinning, over the shoulder smoulder being the highlight 😆
