2024-10-31 01:01:45 +0000 UTCI'm so glad you enjoyed this movie. I would highly recommend Abigail which is directed by the same people (but I wouldn't watch the trailer if you do decide to watch). It's pretty similar with a little bit more comedic bits.

That alone cemented Samara Weaving in the final girl history book for me personally 😭🫶🏼 Such a great movie, honestly feel like this is this generations equivalent to Scream, camp, funny, and tense with moving performances when it calls for it. And Adam Brody ateeeee this role up so bad. Stroked my ego just enough that one of the best characters in this movie shares my name lmao 😂 And something I just thought about this time watching - I think both bride and groom would be spared if they last until dawn. The rest of the family died from the curse but Alex only exploded AFTER Grace took off her ring and denounced him 👀 so I think if our boy had stayed true to helping her escape until the end, they would have got to live happily ever after (if she stayed with him), which is interesting to think about

2024-10-26 03:27:58 +0000 UTCCheck out Touching the Void. Documentary about ice mountain climbers who get into a terrible situation. Even thought the real guys are there on camera telling you what happened so you KNOW they survived… even with that it’s sooooo tense.

I thought it would have been better with just 3-4 characters, no monsters, and a straightforward story of survival and escape from the underground. The scenario of being in an unmapped cave system is more scary than magic creatures and they just took me out of it. Also, in movies like Alien, Tremors, or Jaws, there are clear objectives to be reached. Since they were so focused on not being eaten there really wasn't any time for them to find an escape. they're just wandering in the dark being picked off.

2024-10-25 23:44:45 +0000 UTCWhen it comes to the Terrifier franchise it’s not so much scary as much as it is shocking. Those movies go out of their way to try and gross you out and make you feel something viscerally. Also The Descent is scary to me when it’s closed spaces and dark. The bat people who eat humans? I know those don’t exist so it doesn’t do anything to me once they’re introduced. I’m stop more scared of just being trapped in the dark, never to be found. But Terrifier… they never scared me but they made me feel sick. And I can’t wait to not watch the 3rd one.
