I'd say the polling would benefit from the strategy of "stylistically discreet heavy hitters" The Searchers, The Good The Bad And The Ugly, The Wild Bunch, Unforgiven and Open Range. For example you could have something quite good like The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, but it would likely just eat into the golden age vote for The Searchers. Ditto for, say, High Plains Drifter and fellow New Hollywood revisionist western The Wild Bunch, or more digestible modern filmmaking like 3:10 To Yuma and the more statistically popular Youtube view grabber Open Range. That kind of optimization.

I guess it depends what one focuses on when watching something, not to mention that everyone’s taste in films and shows are different. This might sound weird but the storytelling aspect isn’t the main thing for me. Ofc it has to be at least good and work, but I’m much more interested in editing, sound design, cinematography and effects. The story can be mediocre but if the visuals and sound design was amazing, I will still love the movie. Thats why I love watching other reactors, especially the ones that can give feedback on the storytelling aspect. It teaches me to watch movies and series in a different way. 😊

MI has some good action in it but after I learned about Tom’s cult stuff, it was hard to watch the movies without being randomly reminded about it. I can still enjoy them from a filmmaker perspective and appreciate the work Tom did for the stunts, but yeah. As for BI, I’ve watched the first 2 movies, I remember a little of the first one but I actually fell asleep 3 times when trying to watch the second one. Not because I thought it was boring or bad, I think I just wasn’t in the right mood for it or smth. Sometimes some movies remind me of one off movies that have the same vibe or style and it throws me off. I think I should give BI another go at some point when I’m really into watching a spy action thriller.
