I have a deep love for this movie, and I very much dislike baseball. Like you, I love Brad Pitt; in my opinion, this is his best performance. I joined your Patreon because it felt like I was watching movies with a friend at a time when I had gotten divorced and lost friends. So thank you. I know it sounds cliche, but I feel a bit less sad when I put on a movie with your reactions. I appreciate your attitude and the *golden* retriever temperament. Keep up the great work!

2025-01-16 08:47:56 +0000 UTCYeah, they really did Art Howe dirty -- though it wouldn't have made a better movie to be more accurate :D (also the insane pitching staff in general that year that was glossed over)

2025-01-16 05:22:59 +0000 UTCFinally getting to watch this reaction to one of my favorite movies, and of course I loved it! Fun fact, about a year after this came out I actually got to meet Billy Beane. Really nice guy, we talked soccer mostly because we're fans of the same team and I did get a laugh out of him when I started the conversation with, "Can I ask you a question that isn't about Brad Pitt?"

2025-01-02 20:52:41 +0000 UTCxD Very happy that you got to see an emergency chiropractor! I know alllll about sitting pains! lol, I'm a dude that's in a wheelchair so I'm sitting everyday for nearly all of it. :P I hope that you can remain pain free throughout this watchalong! :) I've watched this movie before but not a ton of times - so with my goldfish memory this should be a great watch for me! I'm not a baseball fan at all, really. American football is much more my game. EXACTLY! Yeah, no, I very much prefer salary caps like they have it in the NFL. You didn't Pitt that together? xD! You're great, Natalie! Being fair, going to Stanford with a full ride is a once in a lifetime opportunity as well. Technology has changed SO MUCH from then to now! The world is not the same. It plain isn't. Right! Yeah, this movie's awesome because it shows how much people are valued in the game. It shows that while at the same time showing the cost to keep them. xD I've got a horror story or two concerning those! xD He was a great actor for sure. :) It's sad that he's no longer around. :( lmao, we all could use a Pete in our lives! lmao, it is Chris Pratt. I'm surprised that you didn't recognize him right off the bat! xD lmao, you're silly, Nat! :) hahahaha, glad that you know the limit to your knowledge! :) This song! xD lol, it's been around for a minute! hahaha Agreed on the sound design! They did a great job with it in this movie. :) "I HATE the media! I am the media.. but I wouldn't ever.." hahahaha The man believes in results. He doesn't want to watch, believes that'll influence the game's result. Everybody has their superstitions, just how it goes. They did a great job with this movie, for sure. More than I would have expected from a baseball movie - for sure! It's nice that he delivered the news himself, however uncomfortable it may've been. This movie includes a lot of comedy and heart! I'm flat NOT a fan of baseball but I actually care about this team. It feels nice. He jinxed it, 100% lmao, he did though! Sports were never a big thing for my family. I've always lived in the Pacific Northwest up where the only game that we have any strength in is football and that's a rare thing as well. xD The sound design is crazy for this! Just dropping all sound at random times - it's cool but a bit strange. It's happened a handful of times in the movie. I'll have to check to see who was in charge of that after this wraps up. So Boston's another rainy town, then. Huh, okay! lol - as a Seattle resident I've always heard that Seattle's the rainiest place! I'll have to take a look at Boston. :) I really enjoyed watching this one with you! Sports gambling is HUGE, yeah. I'm glad that you really enjoyed this and had a great time watching this. :) This was a great movie! 10/10 for sure on sound design. This movie's excellent but I don't think that this is a movie that I'll revisit down the road, again. So yeah - an awesome movie to enjoy once. xD I don't mind the fumbling during the end comments! It's all good, you always provide awesome reactions so if there's a bit of an oops at the end, so be it! :P This movie's pacing was excellent! I didn't mind the length of it at all. It was entertaining throughout. lol, good call on redoing the end bit there. Not that I noticed anything wrong with the first attempt but the second was better. :)

2024-12-25 05:50:26 +0000 UTCThe salary cap in the NFL is $255m. Only 4 teams in the MLB exceed that. The problem in baseball is teams don’t spend money. They don’t need a salary cap - they need a salary floor. If every team had to spend $150m per payroll they’d be more competitive in the free agent market.

2024-12-25 05:48:21 +0000 UTCI don’t know much about baseball either Nat lol but enjoyed the reaction. Would love to see you react to The Replacements one day!

2024-12-24 00:06:14 +0000 UTCLoved this movie. Just watched it for the first time with your reaction. Enjoyed it so much. Also just because you like Brad Pitt, it might be fun to watch you react to bullet train

2024-12-23 06:04:35 +0000 UTCLike Nat, I don't know much about baseball but I enjoyed this film a lot. I also enjoyed to hear Nat singing during the recording of her scores. More Nat singing please 🙏 Maybe a Patreon exclusive musical reaction?

2024-12-22 03:11:30 +0000 UTCIf you’re looking to do any more Brad Pitt movies I highly recommend bullet train! Super funny and action packed!

2024-12-21 21:05:12 +0000 UTCAs a former high school statistics teacher I used to show this film to my students every year before winter break. It didn’t go deep into the new statistics used, but it was neat to see an early sabermetrics (baseball statistics) formula called The Pythagorean Expectation written on a whiteboard in one of the scenes.

2024-12-21 09:30:54 +0000 UTCIt’s definitely a well made movie and I love the Chris Pratt scene. I’d recommend “the worst of all possible worlds” podcast episode for a detailed analysis. They give a bit of historical perspective on how moneyball changed the game but made it incredibly dull and new rules had to be brought in to turn baseball back into a game people enjoy watching and playing.

2024-12-21 04:21:14 +0000 UTCgreat reaction! I love this movie, even tho I myself do not watch a lot of baseball. but there's a really great Clint Eastwood movie called Trouble With The Curve that deals with baseball scouting and all these behind the scene goings on, before the team is even drafted. So if you haven't already, I highly recommend Trouble With The Curve

2024-12-21 04:04:40 +0000 UTCGlad you liked this one Nat, I was sure you would as it's such a great bloody movie. When his daughter sang in it I had never heard that song before and it just crushed me.. It's so beautiful. I can't believe how long ago it was I watched this now, def was worth rewatching with you 100%!!!

2024-12-21 02:58:55 +0000 UTCLoved the movie, loved the react. I think that this movie surprisingly having a lot of heart and humour despite being about baseball and stats is why people ended up loving it so much. Any movie where Aaron Sorkin is a writer becomes a must watch for me, if you haven't seen it would highly recommend A Few Good Men and Steve Jobs.

2024-12-20 19:02:03 +0000 UTCI think the main difference from the real story was that Art Howe was actually really on board with what Billy was trying to do. Also, the Lenka song came out 6 years after the movie takes place.

2024-12-20 17:07:05 +0000 UTCIndeed, especially how the World Series went this year. Game 1 and Game 5 was just something else.

2024-12-20 15:49:29 +0000 UTCNatalie, you are exactly right. Most people enjoy football better because of the salary cap. I wish baseball and all other sports had one

2024-12-20 15:13:58 +0000 UTCI love this money. This money made me take a math class. It was required watching at my first job- the CEO loved it.

2024-12-20 14:47:24 +0000 UTCI do love this movie, even if it ignores how stacked that Oakland roster was with the best starting pitching rotation in the MLB and the AL MVP at shortstop.
