Hope you are all having a splendid day whether you are participating in family celebrations, just chilling at home alone (get it? hehe), or even working.
This may be a strange video to release on Christmas day. We skipped the more festive content this year. I just wasn't feeling the themed content this time around, but this show felt like a gift in and of itself (in a weird, fucked up kinda way haha). And I'm happy I could go down this rabbit hole with all of you.
I look forward to diving into some new shows with you all next year! But until then, just know I appreciate you all so much. Thank you for your support and until the next one, happy holidays and stay golden :)

Nat's face when he started choking Victor was priceless. Sophia's inability to see the betrayal at the end coming is because Oz is right. She has suffered personally, and terribly, but her frame of reference is from generationally wealthy upbringing.

I gave the show a chance after your last livestream, even though Im burned out from all the Superhero Movies and Properties, this shit was pretty great. My rage when I saw The Penguin murder Vic was seething, but thats what made it great to see that he is truly the villain in the story. Thanks for the reactions as always!

You are bang on the money about his ambition because Penguin running for mayor is a reoccurring thing in adaptation I think every previous live action version has run for mayor at some point lol. Also if you want to get to know more Colin Farrell films Iโd recommend In Bruges and The Banshees of Inisherin both written and directed by Irish playwright Martin McDonagh and the later of which earn Farrel and Oscar Nomination.

2024-12-26 15:57:59 +0000 UTCThe show definitely succeeded at the goal of making the audience hate Oz so when they see him again they will root hard against him while being super interested in him and the story...great work by Colin and the team. First comic book project with a real villain as the lead other than maybe Joaquin's Joker but in that film he's not close to as bad as Penguin here.

2024-12-26 10:12:38 +0000 UTCThe Batman Part II releases on October 2, 2026...Penguin is in it, who knows Sofia might be in it...and Matt Reeves said there are talks with the showrunner Lauren LeFranc about a Season 2 so that story could come after the sequel...this is the best shared universe right now with elite filmmaking that transcends the superhero/comic book genre, DC is on top again...it's what these characters deserve...Colin and Cristin better win all the awards, the whole team, Rhenzy and Deirdre...the makeup on Oz is once again amazing and should have won the Oscar for the film, probably will for the show and sequel.

I always appreciate when a villains story makes clear, and stays consistent with the fact that weโre looking at a VILLAIN. It was fun to root for Oz for a lot of the show, but that just made the revelation about his brothers and then Vic hit harder ๐ญ

2024-12-25 16:33:40 +0000 UTCI think the The High Evolutionary from Guardians 3 and Penguin are the few comic book villains in recent memory that are just terrible people throughout, rotten to the core and not a "sympathetic" villain, or "misguided but with some moral righteousness and using the wrong methods" villain like we've seen so many times before.

2024-12-25 15:46:14 +0000 UTCMy favorite part is that along with all the other good things and thematic threads in the series the main one is the most macro and that this is a VILLAIN. And empathy and likeability aside the primordial use of a villain is to make you hate them and face justice, and justice is Batman. The end with the bat-signal gave me the same visceral reaction as a pro wrestling fan when the villain (heel in wrestling jargon) is in the ring doing something reprehensible and the crowd is livid and booing and at the moment the heel feels invincible the good guy (babyface) music hits and he comes down the ramp and the crowd goes wild. Whether it's in The Batman 2 (most likely) or The Penguin season 2 (less likely) I now want to see Batman punch the crap out of the penguin so much and throw him in jail, maybe then Julian can forge something to have penguin then sent to arkham instead of prison and then penguin season 2 starts with both him and Sofia in there together

So Sofia and Selina are half-sisters. So lots of people are hoping that Selina will either rescue Sofia or be like how Alberto was to her since Selina hated Falcone just as much as Sofia. Also, Merry Christmas!!! <3

It's good to see they didn't go the route of trying to make him an anti-hero. The Penguin was great at establishing that there's a reason why he's one of Batman's villains.
