Help me pick a movie!
Added 2025-01-15 17:00:11 +0000 UTCFor this poll, I wanted to include some films that I've seen maybe once or twice before, but haven't watched in ages. With Hitchiker's, I filmed most of my reaction and lost it in a power outage, but never finished the movie!
Looking forward to seeing what wins!
Comments
Valentine’s is coming, the perfect movie is Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

2025-01-19 16:38:40 +0000 UTCI'd love to see you watch A Good Year with Russell Crowe, marion cotillard, albert finney, abbie cornish, freddie highmore... great cast and feel-good plot

2025-01-17 06:23:43 +0000 UTCIt's been a while since I posted The crowded room with Tom Holland and Amanda Seyfried!!! Such an absolute masterpiece!

2025-01-17 03:47:26 +0000 UTCIf you enjoyed Kiss kiss bang bang bang, then The nice guys would be a great watch. Same Director.

2025-01-17 00:41:51 +0000 UTCGreat movie

2025-01-16 22:58:13 +0000 UTCKnowing that Douglas Adams worked on Classic Doctor Who around the time he was writing Hitchhikers, I subscribe to the theory that Ford Prefect is “really” Tom Baker’s Fourth Doctor. (And not a hip black dude.)
Eric Janssen
2025-01-16 18:11:47 +0000 UTCI concur in regards to REAL STEEL
Adrian Serengau
2025-01-16 08:41:13 +0000 UTCOhh makes me so happy this is winning, been hoping for a long time for you to watch it Nat. Always loved all of them. REAL STEEL is something I think you would really enjoy also. You might not think so just by reading about it but I think it's right up your alley and would be a great reaction movie. Either way I'm STOKED for this one baby!!!

2025-01-16 07:45:54 +0000 UTCHunger Games is in "collections" already?

2025-01-16 06:48:33 +0000 UTCInteresting theme of "high concept popcorn flicks". I dig it. For such a mood, one gigantic underserved market is for the adored Equilibrium (2002). Similar to the Matrix not just stylistically, but in terms of philosophic ambition.

2025-01-16 06:38:34 +0000 UTCShe did ballad of songbirds
jamie jones
2025-01-16 05:35:29 +0000 UTCwould love to see you do all 5 of the Hunger Games movies. Ballad of Songbirds is a prequel to the original Hunger Games stories. And a new book and movie are coming out in the future that explore Haymitches life. it's called Sunrise Over the Reaping.
sleepless_dream (Lauren)
2025-01-16 03:07:56 +0000 UTCAt the risk of being "that guy", I have to point out that the book wasn't the original. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was a radio show before it was a book. With that said, it's true that the film departs from the book in a lot of ways. But every iteration of the story is its own thing, and I think the film is worth a watch. The performances alone are worth it. Sam Rockwell and Martin Freeman are excellent. If anything, the movie suffers from trying to pack so much story into under 2 hours. But I still enjoy it.

2025-01-16 01:03:24 +0000 UTCWhy do you have to mention the girl is black? Also she looks absolutely nothing like mikaela speilberg. Skin tones arent even remotely similar and they look completely different. You always seem to have misogynistic or bigoted comments eric.

2025-01-15 22:26:18 +0000 UTCHitchhikers Guide: the Movie has precious little to do with the original book, but there’s a six-episode 80’s BBC series taken from the original text, and done in Classic Doctor Who style.
Eric Janssen
2025-01-15 22:24:52 +0000 UTCOh right 2 was Goodblum/Vaughn. Yeah that one was great except for the San Diego stuff.

2025-01-15 20:58:58 +0000 UTCI understood it as she's seen all of them at least once.
Jules Readner
2025-01-15 20:22:14 +0000 UTCI thought you meant some as in "not all of them", not in the "these here." Good luck stealing the declaration!
Eric Wallace
2025-01-15 20:21:27 +0000 UTCVoting for national treasure because I've never seen it. Watching with you is always a welcome motivation
Jules Readner
2025-01-15 20:19:50 +0000 UTCwell in this case I've seen all of them, just haven't finished Hitchiker's and haven't seen the rest in a long time and not more than once or twice...I thought that was clear from the post haha

2025-01-15 19:08:11 +0000 UTCI think you’re thinking of Jurassic Park III, but I agree with your statement. I like Jurassic Park III too, but it’s definitely the weakest of the three to me.
Thomas Wetherell
2025-01-15 18:55:22 +0000 UTCIn my opinion each Jurassic movie is worse than the last. But the first four are AMAZING! I really hope it wins!

2025-01-15 18:51:21 +0000 UTCWilliam H Macy’s acting was like he thought he was in a much better movie. *Chefs kiss*

2025-01-15 18:06:16 +0000 UTCHappy Wednesday Nat. Going to vote for National Treasure this time. Not seen it for ages and would love to watch it with you. JP2 is probably the weakest of the original trilogy. I still live in hope that one day I'll get to watch those Jurassic Park 3 pterodactyls with you ha ha. Have a great day Nat. Take care 💛

2025-01-15 17:45:47 +0000 UTCHitchhikers Guide and national treasure are fucking peak. Hunger Games yuck. Lost World has it's moments.

2025-01-15 17:37:04 +0000 UTCI am voting National Treasure, only to count how many times Natalie says "oh my god" or does her (this is ridiculous) laugh.
Adam Doyle
2025-01-15 17:31:03 +0000 UTCI hope Hunger Games will happen some day even if it doesn't win now, it's such a great "trilogy".
samuel Jakob
2025-01-15 17:28:53 +0000 UTCThis is definitely a random comment and isn’t even in the same ballpark as the movies here genre wise, but would you ever put Zero Dark Thirty (2012) on a poll? It’s a really good thriller about the hunt for Osama bin Laden and one of my favorites.
Thomas Wetherell

2025-01-15 17:09:38 +0000 UTCMaybe you could give a try to the original Hitchhiker’s BBC TV series from back in the 80s. Much closer to the original.

2025-01-15 17:08:12 +0000 UTCNational Treasure is a treat

2025-01-15 17:06:40 +0000 UTCSkip the Hitchhikers movie and read the books. They’re a quick read and WAY better.

jamie jones
2025-01-15 17:04:19 +0000 UTCThe Lost World: Jurassic Park is a really underrated movie in my opinion. It’s definitely not as good as the original, but I think it deserves a lot more love than it usually gets.
