One of my all time favorite movies was From Dusk Till Dawn because I didn’t know anything about it before I watched it, so if you haven’t seen it and don’t know anything about it I highly recommend From Dusk Till Dawn as a movie you should watch.

Great movie but it’s not on Blu. The only digital/ streaming copy I find is a pan and scan version. If she can find the widescreen version on dvd that may be the best bet.

Yes, The original is a classic and has a good, creepy atmosphere through most of it. Part 2, 3, and the Final Chapter were good as well and then they started getting more dumb and less memorable, although I did like Part 6.

After watching The Exorcist, I definitely recommend watching the Exorcist III. It is one of the best written horror films out there and a much better sequel than The Exorcist 2, which was a dud. Anyway, just decided to become a patron here and I'll always have good suggestions here, for just about every movie category. I like to choose films that were good but not quite as popular as a lot of the classics are. Here are my scary movie suggestions: Tourist Trap (1979)- This PG rated movie is one of the creepiest you'll ever see. Christine (1983)- A Stephen King Novel adaptation, Directed by John Carpenter, who did The Thing and Halloween. Fright Night (1985)- A cool vampire movie with a soundtrack that is fun to listen to. The Fly (1986)- Maybe the best combination of science fiction and horror. Child's Play (1988)- The original Chucky movie and still the best. Bram Stroker's Dracula (1992)- My personal favorite version of this story. The Relic (1997)- A cool monster flick from the 90s. The Ninth Gate (1999)- A creepy mystery starring Johnny Depp. The Descent (2005)- A creepy cave thriller that is underrated. Slither (2006)- An outrageous horror comedy starring Nathan Fillion from Firefly.

Frankly I'm super disappointed the original Friday the 13th didn't get more votes..... It hast to be watched.... It's one of the greatest.... The suspense alone. Truly terrorized me when I was 13.

Thanks! I do try to do this in my brain...but honestly...it takes me hours or sometimes days to process a movie. I did talk today on Twitch about some thoughts on The Thing. But I'm usually fried right after I watch a film and have a hard time thinking of what to talk about. Hopefully I can get better at this though because I think adding some more commentary would be cool!

General feedback...some of my favorite reaction videos spend a few minutes after the movie picking apart the plot and exploring character motivations. I would love to hear more about what you felt was happening in the movie and what you thought of the story. I'm just used to having that kind of conversation after watching a movie with someone. I love your videos though, stay golden!

Idea for non-scary movie for in between the scary ones if you've never seen it is Ready Player One. Lots of great 80's nostalgia. Humor, action and a love story.

Have you considered The Haunting of Hill House? It is on Netflix. There are 10 episodes in the first season, and the second season starts this week. The show follows a family that moved into Hill House back in the 90s: two parents and 5 children. The story is told in two timelines, when the family moves in and 26 years later when the children are adults. The series is very well received, with a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.

One last consideration for a movie, I noticed you said at the beginning of The Thing that you wished it was a sci-fi movie, well why not watch the final movie in Friday the 13th franchise “JASON X” it set on board a spaceship in the future and Jason wake up from being frozen, it’s a really fun movie, I couldn’t stop laughing in the cinema.

Hi Natalie, I just finished watching your reaction to The Thing, You didn’t disappoint, I love it your face on so many times 🤣 This is why I like you so much. Can I just tell you a quick story about the Thing, I was on vacation in universal studio and they were filming The Thing way off in the distance, all this sand and hills and was this big patch of ice in a square and this is what our tour guide told us they were filming this big monster picture.

I think you should also watch some funny spooky movies - Beetlejuice, Young Frankenstein. You can watch Nightmare Before Christmas as either a Halloween or a Christmas movie (or both).

Here are some scary movie picks: Paranormal Activity, Seven, Ghost House, Jack Frost(not the Michael Keaton version), Trick r Treat, Dawn of the Dead (2003 remake), The Ring (2002), and since you just watched the 1982 classic, I think it would be fun to watch the 2011 prequel, The Thing.

I'm really glad you're doing this horror month theme! I'm a big fan of the horror movies from the 80's, so I'd love to see Nightmare of Elm Street win this poll(most likely won't), and hope to see films like Poltergeist, Creepshow, The Howling, Fright Night, Monster Squad, They Live, Evil Dead and American Werewolf in London.

Nightmare on Elm Street and A Quiet Place are probably the only films on this poll I like, but I'm sure whatever wins will be a fun reaction from Natalie. Some horror movie recommendations: Lost Boys, Jeepers Creepers, Scream, Event Horizon, Fallen, The Devil's Advocate.

Oh boy, if the Exorcist wins, that movie is going to be quite the experience for Natalie. I suggest maybe a Horror/comedy next, or something not as intense. Shaun of the Dead, Gremlins, Twilight Zone: The Movie, Arachnophobia, Monster Squad.

If you end up watching The Exorcist, just be aware that there is an extended cut that was released in 2000. I saw it in theaters during the release, it was quite an experience. You could go either way on which one to watch, both are very scary. But I think the new cut has a slight edge. The director was personally involved in the making of the cut, and he used footage that he filmed but was unusable for various reasons until technology improved enough to fix it. Both are on Amazon for the same amount of money.

Favorites to see reactions to would be Cabin in the Woods and Scream but I agree with another comment I saw here that they would be better after she has seen some classics, so maybe next year. For this year I would say some of those classics like Nightmare on Elm Street, Evil Dead 2 (skip Evil dead 1 IMO, not that it is bad just 2 is better), Friday the 13th part (take your pick), Halloween, and I would say the Conjuring as well.

Agreed. Horror is a perfect medium for slow burn stories, since they thrive on tension and release, so the longer you draw out the tension and draw in the audience, the better, but relatively few these days take advantage of that, although Ari Aster and Robert Eggers are doing exactly that brilliantly in their own ways lately. I can see an in-his-prime Hitchcock making a movie like A Quiet Place or Hereditary if he were alive today.

While "A Quiet Place" is well directed and has a palpable atmosphere about it, the movie has such ginormous and inescapable plot-holes throughout it that I couldn't enjoy it to recommend to others. I'm voting for "The Exorcist".

Jump scare movies are fun, but I think The Thing (1982) is a wonderfully scary movie that holds up even after almost 40 years. It's psychological as well as jump scare. On this list, only The Exorcist at the Quiet Place have some psychological terror. Thank you!
