Hope you enjoy this new NATMARE video. I know this video is more funny and less scary, but I still think it fits in with the NATMARE theme given it's spooky nature. Yvonne has the best call back in the movie that usually gets totally overlooked. When she says "glad someone made it" she has a look on her face that tells you her entire party died and she's the only one left.

2020-10-24 00:08:01 +0000 UTCEdgar Wright is honestly a god tier filmmaker, all his little quirky techniques, all them slide transitions and the excellent writing, still rather annoyed Marvel said no to him doing Ant-Man. Once Natmares is over, definitely recommend Hot Fuzz and The World’s End, which are sort of spiritual sequels to this, together forming the so called “Cornetto Trilogy” (named after the fact the characters in each film at one point or another enjoy a Cornetto which is a popular brand of flavoured ice cream cone) They’re done by the same filmmaking team as this movie, but they spoof/parody other genres. Not just those films, but I just highly recommend checking out other British films too in general. Be nice to see some of our films get some more love and appreciation.

2020-10-23 15:01:05 +0000 UTCIn case you didn't notice. After the break up when they are at the Winchester His friend lays out the plot of the movie when he starts with bloody mary. The first zombie they attack is named Mary and they end up back at the Winchester for shots =)

Also Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, Father Ted, League Of Gentlemen, Big Train. There’s just too many amazing late 90s-early 00s to pick just one!

While it is to be expected, as it is a zombie movie, I think they went against the grain too much on the tone that they set for the first two acts. I found Zombieland to be a similar movie but tonally consistent throughout. And it seems evident that they figured this out as well, as Hot Fuzz is absolutely brilliant, and works on every level.

It’s pretty intense, and the scene of David getting ripped open by the zombies still haunts my dreams. Since I know you like The Boys, I’m curious if you recognized Simon Pegg as Hughie’s dad. He also plays Scotty in the JJ Abrams Star Trek films, if you need a reason to watch those. Karl Urban (Billy Butcher in The Boys and Éomer in LOTR) plays McCoy in them, as well. Anyhoo, laughed my ass off watching this, so another job well done. Cheers, Nat!

With Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and Jessica Hynes (Yvonne in the movie). Same director as well, Edgar Wright. Everybody should check it out, it's ripe with 90s feels.

2020-10-22 00:29:47 +0000 UTCThe whole Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy is brilliant. (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World's End. A loose trilogy connected merely by a lot of the same actors, same director and writers, and similar themes about growing up.) Edgar Wright is easily one of my favorite directors. Baby Driver is another excellent film of his, and a great example of his love of editing to music. (Much like the Don't Stop Me Now scene in this film.) It's like a feature length music video. He also did Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and brought all his best writing, editing, and filmmaking hallmarks into it. And who can forget his short but brilliant sitcom Spaced. A wonderful cross-section of real-life problems with geek/nerd culture.

At least you'll be able to get some restful sleep in November :) Dawn of the Dead is considered to be the Citizen Kane of zombie movies. Director George A. Romero loved what they did with Shaun of the Dead, and as Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright were huge fans of his, when Romero made Land of the Dead the following year, he cast them in cameo roles as a couple of fairground zombies.
