Toward the end, you talked about the expression "Blood is thicker than water" The original meaning was reversed. The "water" was family, the water of birth. The blood was the blood you spill in combat. So, the people you spill blood with, and bleed for, are more family, than your actual family.

Funny little bit... near the end, when all the people are asleep and Arya's talking, the kid who plays Hotpie (the one who thinks anyone in armour is a knight) was actually asleep. The snoring was him. That's why he looked so believably 'just woken up' with all the shouting... because he was.

The saying "blood is thicker than water" is a shortened saying.... The actual saying is blood is thicker than the water of the womb therefore blood spilt on the battlefield or in a bond means more than siblings bonds.

"Blood is thicker than water" is actually a truncated version of the saying. The full saying is "The Blood of the Covenant is thicker than the Water of the Womb." Meaning that chosen promises and relationships ARE stronger than familial bonds.

there are an overwhelming number of characters on this show and the first time I watched it I had trouble remembering who was who. One thing I did was I started to take notes, writing down names and who they were and that really helped me a lot. If you find yourself forgetting who certain characters are it might help you to take notes too.
