Weird yet fun fact: Neither Tywin, The Mountain nor Petyr Baelish ever laid eyes upon Arya before she came to Harrenhal. Even Cersei never saw her while she was in King's Landing--not that she had reason to come to Harrenhal, just another bit o' fun factoiding...

MertzRocks

Tyrion didn't simply go with whatever story line got told to the queen. The plan was always to marry off princess Marcella to the Martells of Dorne as a way to gain their support to keep the Iron Throne.

Brian E

First mention of Roose Bolton's bastard kid. I'm sure he won't ever matter though. And Theon does indeed think with his dick. I'm sure that will never change...

Cory Silver

I have to say that it is historically accurate that a sword can cut through a neck or an arm or a leg with one stroke. In fact many cultures from medieval times and backwards used to grade and test swords sharpness and quality by the ammount of hands or legs or heads that a sword would cleanly cut with one stroke. Of course it would not be tested on civilians... but prisoners, outlaws or condemned people. They would put them in line and hack away...That is in fact historically accurate.

Natalie-- In your reaction you said that you know that it's hard to take a head cleanly off. Do you have practical experience in this? I'm starting to think that maybe it was a good thing I didn't major in theatre. I probably couldn't handle the violence. :=)

Alan Kobb

Yes, you are missing Mr. Blond boy๐Ÿ˜ and Nat hates Joffery (well, who does not, right) and Nat likes Tyrion.

R.BGames37

The scene between Dany and the Spice King is actually a very important clue and crucial to understanding Dany. The events in her life have conspired to convince her that she is some sort of prophesied chosen one destined to, well... we'll see. The point is, she's not blustering or putting on a front. She genuinely believes everything that she says, and to be fair, based on what we've seen so far, how can we say she's wrong?

Ellis Hugh

Sophie Turner (Sansa) is a very under-rated actress... she filmed that 'almost rape' scene when she was 15. She's under-stated and seemingly under-utilized for the first few seasons, but... just damn.

Ellis Hugh

Theon's arc is ultimately one of my favorites...

Ellis Hugh

Congratulations on hitting 3.000 Patrons Nattie!!

Danishprince

Exactly. Imagine growing up like that - yes, today they might be feeding you, clothing you, educating you and training you; but tomorrow, if daddy Greyjoy doesn't behave himself, your life could be forfeit - albeit at the hands of a much more experienced executioner than Theon.

Starromania72

RIGHT?! That drove me nuts through the whole series. All of my friends laughed at me whenever I mentioned it. At last, validation! :D

Michael G. Munz

I'm not sure you're understanding exactly what happened with Theon being sent to live with the Starks. His father didn't send him away by choice. Because the Greyjoys were defeated, the Starks took his only son as a "ward" which is basically like a hostage. It's basically to keep the family from rebelling again, since they hold the heir. In a way, Sansa is like a ward of the Lannisters. So no, it wasn't Balon's choice to send Theon.

Derik Knutson

I always found it striking how good Tywin is with Arya given how much of an arsehole he is with his own kids. Of course, Tywin has gargantuan expectations for his progeny (and other relatives) but little confidence in them. He has zero expectations for a random serving girl, so when she turns out to be literate, inquisitive and possesses an instinct for survival, Tywin's interest seems genuinely piqued when someone exceeds his expectations.

Starromania72

You mention something thatโ€™s always bothered me about Game of Thrones. Everyone is always talking about how cold it is north of the wall, and no oneโ€™s wearing a hat! How cold can it be?

Thank you for your great reaction! ๐Ÿ˜„ I'm so glad to go further in this adventure, you are so empathetic and concerned about all charachters, Arya, Sansa or even other minor characters as Sir Rodrik (he deserved better), that's so incredible, contrary to many people who doesn't care about these minor characters. Well, I can't wait to see the next step at your side! โš”๏ธ Stay golden and be safe! ๐Ÿ’›

Each raven is trained to go to a certain location. Thats why they will have like 20-30 ravens, so hypothetically the raven he just sent only ever goes back and forth between Winterfell and Riverrun.

My_Cousin_Mose

โ€œI canโ€™t wait til her dragons are full grown so she can destroy everybody with them.โ€

It seems you are getting angrier and angrier with things happening in this show. You gotta calm down a little if you are to continue watching. lol Another great reaction, Nat! I really am glad you are doing this series.

Donovan Sparks

Another note: Little Lord, Little Princess, Little Dove, Little Bird, Little Theon, LittleFinger lol... You can't get away from the Littles in this show.

MertzRocks

Note on Rodrick's beheading: 1) Theon is not nearly as strong as Ned was and 2) Ned had a way heavier, Valyrian Steel sword; Theon's was crap compared to Ned's. Note on the meeting with Littlefinger: Baelish had only gotten fleeting glimpses of Arya before this and thus was not sure who he was seeing. Note on the DEAD: White Walkers and Wights are different. The dead men are called Wights. White Walkers control the Army of the Dead. That shouldn't spoil anything, just clarify. Note on the music! : You haven't heard anything yet! (wish I could throw an emoji here >wink<)

MertzRocks

Tyrion is not selling off Cercei's daughter to Dorne, the last and most stubborn kingdom of the 7 kingdoms under the Iron Throne. On pretense of keeping her far from harm, Tyrion is trying to draw Dorne out of isolation and to be an ally to King Joffrey. The problem is one of the Dorne family was married to the Targaryen Prince, Dany's eldest brother. When Robert's rebellion overthrew the Targaryens, and the Lannisters took King's Landing, the Lannisters killed all the Targaryens they could get their hands on including the Dorne princess and all her children too. Of course Daddy Lannister was smart about it and claimed he never ordered their deaths. The people from Dorne don't believe him but don't have proof that it is a lie.

Tranquil_Gnome

Ned's sword, Ice, in addition to being a greatsword made of Valyrian steel, was also routinely sharpened by Ned (as seen in the scene where he sat under the Weirwood). Ice is much heavier and better suited to executions than what Theon was using. Not to mention Ned has had a lot of practice executing people in his 20 years or so as the Lord of Winterfell, while Theon had never executed anyone before. It is however quite poignant that Theon couldn't make it a clean death, which showed the audience that he is indeed a far cry from the real Lord of Winterfell.

Series summary. Natalie... - Loves Daenarys - Hates Theon - Loves Bran - Hates Cersei - Loves Robb - Feels sorry for Sansa - Isn't sure about the Mountain - Is confident about Arya - Is worried about Sam Am I missing any? I almost forgot. The wildling woman that Jon has captured is played by a Scottish actress named Rose Leslie. She married Kit Harrington in 2018.

Alan Kobb

Little bit of trivia: The actress who plays Talisa (the woman Robb is infatuated with) is the granddaughter of the famous actor/film-maker Charlie Chaplin.

MrCAL

How Dan and Dave treated Tywin, was the best thing they added to Martin's work.

Rune

Hey Nat, Jaime has dyslexia. Also, Ned was able to cut off the night's watchman's head off so easily because of his sword, which is made of Valyrian steel. Valyrian steel is the toughest, sharpest metal in the world of Game of Thrones.

Ilsuk Yang

Tywin is my favorite bad guy. Heโ€™s practical, doesnโ€™t suffer fools, and respects intelligence.

Ben Wheeler

Yeah, now when Nat remembers all the important people it is more spoilery than remindery.

Jakub C

Cersei and The Hound?

Will Whiton

Same here, have to pause my tv now and again to let hers catch up...

dyslexia, im pretty sure Einstein had t.

Cripkie

I somehow missed this entire episode when it first aired! I'd always wondered how Hodor and the kids escaped Winterfell and how Arya left Tywin. Also nice to finally see the "who threw that poop at me?!" scene. (As seen in the Bad Lip Reading video "Medieval Land Fun-Time World." Which I once linked to here but then deleted because there were bits you hadn't seen yet in the show, but now I think it's all caught up, so here that is again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Krz-dyD-UQ

*chuckle* "It's really so easy to convince Theon. He truly is the definition of a man who thinks with his dick." -- Natalie

Starfire

Wow, there was a lot going on in this episode. Loved how you were baby-sitting Arya. Look forward to the next one. Thanks Nat ๐Ÿ’›

Darryl Low

In the books it is heavily implied that the maesters who train the ravens employ subtle science/magic (since the mesters seem to sometimes confuse these) to help in the training, so it sticks and the ravens do not forget.

Rune

Two actors in this episode are married to each other today. Who?

Rune

Regarding the ravens each castle/stronghold etc. has ravens that are trained to only fly to one other place. So Winterfeel has ravens that are trained to fly to Kings Landing or to The Nights Watch. So the Measter just pick the needed raven and throw it off the window basically

Danishprince

This is really be best show ever. Together with "The Walking Dead".. injoy this so much.. Keep up the amazing videos and reactions Nattie. Greetings Raymond.

R.BGames37

Same.. This is really the best show ever.. Same as TWD..

R.BGames37

John Snow and Ygrette got married in real life :)

Martin Firth

Hi, I would suggest not watching the recaps for the very reason you mentioned. They sometimes spoil things that are gonna happen in the episode. Some twists and turns are much better if you do not expect them.

Is there anyone other than me having truble with syncing ?

Downloading this right now to watch tonight. ๐Ÿ˜Š This season has gone by fast. I can't believe we're already fairly close to starting season 3. I'm really enjoying this season. I can't wait to watch this episode reaction this evening. ๐Ÿ˜Š Have a great day! Until the next video, Stay Golden! ๐Ÿ’›

Randee Carreno
