I hadn't read the books when I first saw the show, and Jamie losing his hand was the most shocking moment for me. It was just so quick and brutal and all of a sudden a main character had been maimed without getting killed (I know Bran kinda fits into that as well, but that happened so early I'd kinda forgot it (especially since I didn't rewatch S1 or 2 for a full year before S3), and by then you didn't have a grasp of what the series was gonna be, then everyone just died, no-one else had to live with permanent damage of that impactful importance)

One of my favorite episodes and probably my favorite episode endings. And the reaction to the bait and switch was... chef's kiss! The song that plays at the end of the episode is the same song the men were singing when we 1st cut to Jamie and Brienne toward the beginning of the episode.

So, who are the Brotherhood Without Banners? If you remember way back to season 1, when King Robert went on his hunt, Ned Stark had to sit on the throne and hear petitions. When a farmer from the Riverlands reported that The Mountain was pilliaging, Ned ordered Lord Beric Dondarrion to gather 100 men to find The Mountain and return him to justice. Lord Beric's force was trapped behind enemy lines and became a guerrilla group, serving under "no banner", fighting to protect the commonfolk of the Riverlands from both sides of the war. Their religious leader is Thoros of Myr (who was the leader of the party that captured Arya, Gendry and Hot Pie). Thoros serves The Lord of Light. Catelyn's uncle is Ser Brynden Tully, known as The Blackfish. The sign of House Tully is a Silver Trout. Many years ago, his eldest brother, Lord Hoster Tully arranged a marriage for him with Bethany Redwyne, but he refused to marry her or anyone else. This led to their argument. Hoster called him a "black goat", and Brynden said that it would be more correct to call him a black fish since a fish is the house sigil. The Tully who can't shoot an arrow is Catelyn and Lysa's youngest brother Edmure. With the death of their father, Edmure is now Lord of Riverrun and Lord Paramount of the Trident.

For what it's worth, I don't have internet issues and I've been having trouble with HBOMax the last few days too. Tried everything, got to a point where I was deleting the app and reinstalling it on my TV. When I tried to reinstall, it said I didn't have enough memory for it. So I deleted a bunch of apps that I'd never used and got HBO back on. Works perfectly again. Give it a try.

Nat. White Walkers. Not Nightwalkers. You are mixing the Night Watch with White Walkers. And your guy at the start of the season got it right. The White Walkers are the freeze dried but intact guys usually on horses, often have ice weapons. The majority of the White Walker "army" are the zombie types, the wights. You will soon learn how the two are created. The wights often are mangled or missing bits of their bodies and kill by hand like most zombies do in other movies. Oh, and animals can be turned into wights as well. The dead looking horses.

Is all your internet over wifi through Spectrum? or just wifi to this room from a Specturm cable modem/wifi/router? If it's just a matter of getting a better signal to that spot from a wired connection somewhere in the house there are certainly technical solutions. If its a combo wifi router from Spectrum I would recommend turning off the wifi on it and adding an actual wifi access point. I use Ubiquiti APs (~$100) in my house for wifi from my Comcast hard line and they are pretty much bullet proof. The signal is far stronger from a dedicated device designed for professional level wireless networking than whatever cheapy wifi chip is added into a combo modem/router/wifi device you get from your provider.

Yeah having Spectrum internet is an experience to be sure lol. For me it’s being throttled at half my speed when downloading a game on Steam, or random audio/video dropouts when doing my online class. I really wish my town would do municipal broadband, so I can get that gigabit speed, but not yet.

You’re right about the intro funeral for Hoster Tully being similar to Frigg’s from Thor the Dark World. It’s a supposed to be a Viking Funeral. When someone significant like a king or a jarl dies, their bodies are put onto boats and drift down a river or fjord. When I catch aflame, they are supposed to enter Valhalla. Sorry I’m a huge Viking geek. lol
