Help me pick a feel good movie!

Comments

I think you might like, "Bringing up Baby" with Carey Grant. If you haven't already seen it.

Tadpoleaxe

The Hobbit Trilogy would be good to watch after how to train your dragon. It will help you understand more of what went on before the events of lord of the rings, and why Gandalf and bilbo became friends.

Jason Colbert

how to train your dragon trilogy, and perhaps other animated movies such as Brother Bear, Into The Spider-Verse (spidey movie abt miles), Coco, Zootopia, Big Hero 6, etc all AMAZING ANIMATED MOVIES you should def consider if u haven't seen them already <3

Freya

the hobbit trilogy was sadly way over CG'd and [ugh] compared to the amazing work done on LOTR by Jackson. I'll have to think of some things to throw at you tha you might have never seen before. How to Train your Dragon is good though, enjoyed it.

Definitely Delish

I guess it's How to Train Your Dragon tomorrow, huh? I've never seen it so I'm looking forward to it. Glad it's not The Hobbit.

Joe Blankenship

True it is a great movie

nexus

2nd part of season 5 just dropped!!!

Jeremy Harris

I'm not sure if you've ever seen it but I would love to see a reaction to M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable. I think many would agree Unbreakable is the real star in the Shyamalan collection.

My_Cousin_Mose

Would you watch the show lucifer

nexus

Come and See. That’s a total feel good type of movie. Or Lilya 4-ever

Dooly

Yawn. I prefer when she watches something for the first time.

Thoko

I just can't wait till she does the Harry Potter movies

How about the classic PEGGY SUE GOT MARRIED with Kathleen Turner came out in 1986 around the the same time as BACK TO THE FUTURE great time travel movie

RebRox65

HTTYD was one of the best movies of that year.

nitind

Paddington or Paddington 2 is your feel good movie 🎥 😊, just saying.

Roddrick Smith

if you want a disney/pixar movie to watch definitly watch coco

Ben Gilshenan

I kind of wanna replace Parenthood with A Bronx Tale, I relate a little more to that movie.

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

The Hitman's Bodyguard isn't a "feel good movie" per say... but it is one of the funniest movies ever. You put Samuel L Jackson and Ryan Reynolds together and you get pure gold.

Josh

I wouldn't say Shawshank Redemption is a feel good movie xD

Kebab

Voted but also have some suggestion for "Feel Good" Disney sports trilogy.....Miracle, The Rookie, and Invincible. All based on true stories. Another option would be Shawshank Redemption.

Erik Larson

Whats more nostalgic than a time travel movie from your childhood. Lets get our nostalgia up to 88mph nat.

Cripkie

Best feel good flick for me is a Jamaican one called Rockers, not very well known though. I'd put High Fidelity up there for feel good though, love that movie

Peter Hudson

By which, of course, we assume you mean Star Trek II: the Wrath of Khan. Too many reactors have said “Cool, I’m going to watch the JJ Abrams films, that’s what you meant, right?”, and prevention is the best cure.

Eric Janssen

Star Trek

Corey Wolf

Kung Fu Panda and Pirates of the Caribbean would be fun!

Brett Farmer

It is not. It is so very not. It’s a “Nooooo! What did you doooooooo???” movie

Byron

The Hobbit is a feel good movie?

Bryan Fritchie

They even used Tolkien's own tune for the song, which is the one thing we'll give them credit for. But basically, it’s like Cecil B. DeMille’s old brag of “Give me two pages of the Bible, and I’ll give you a picture!”…Or, in Peter Jackson’s case, give him any two pages in The Hobbit, and he’ll give you a new character, a running trilogy subplot, and a videogame-ready CGI action scene. And he goes through EVERY freakin’ pair of pages in the one book.

Eric Janssen

Should have thrown Kungfu Panda in there.

Xenic Mark

5,000!!!!!

Aaron Chandler

it wasnt that bad, if you just take it at face value and enjoy it, they are decent flicks

Coojw

I suppose eventually you should see The Hobbit Trilogy Extended Edition. But fair warning: it's generally decent, popcorn level of fun, but a big drop in quality compared to The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. There's a bunch of fan edits out there that greatly compress the story into 2 or 1 film, as the trilogy feels super decompressed and stretched. (The Lord of the Rings books were a trilogy, but The Hobbit was 1 SHORT book.) Overall, The Hobbit Trilogy isn't terrible, but it does feel like there's a great 1 or 2 film saga in there that's buried under a lot of superfluous scenes or scenes that run too long just to get 3 movies. And I only suggest watching the Extended Editions because you did that for LOTR, so why not. But even the theatrical versions of Hobbit seem long. But hey, might as well do ALL OF IT. Do the Extended Editions just so you can say you've reviewed the entirety of the trilogy. Just so any super devoted fan can't say "Ah ha! You didn't watch all of it!" I will say though, part 1 An Unexpected Journey was pretty good and recreated a number of fun moments from the book beat per beat. (Blunt the knives, bend the forks, smash the bottles and burn the corks....)

Nicholas Sulikowski

Stay as far away from that Hobbit cash grab as possible.

HTTYD.

Inhuman Paradox

Cinema Paradiso at some point.

AC5555

Goonies is my go to feel good movie.

Brookie

The bonus being, of course, Nat may choose to react to Cobra Kai afterwards, eh? 😉

Darren Withers

YES! I have been hoping for HTTYD for so long and I am so excited that you're finally getting to see them <3

Danishprince

The shining then 🤣🤣🤣

Nolan green (NoIIan on discord)

I liked "seven" by David fincher Oh, Feel GOOD movie, crap

Nolan green (NoIIan on discord)

THE HOBBIT TRILOGY!!!

Daniel Restaro

You can't feel much better than 9 to 5 (1980). Its a damn near perfect movie, and it has Dolly Parton!

The whole Back to the Future Trilogy, please.

David Brown

How to train your Dragon is awesome! Some other good feelgood movies that are not that old "How to lose a guy in 10 days (2003)", "What women want(2000)", and "A Midsummer Night's Dream(1999)" The last one is Shakespeare, but as a Theater Geek you should enjoy it. Christian Bale, Calista Flockhart, Stanley Tucci, Kevin Kline and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Wesley Eskildsen

That Thing You Do is my favorite feel good movie.

Matt Gwinn

I voted for Back To The Future, but another really good trilogy of "Feel Good Movies" is The Karate Kid. You have a kid who's new in town, trying to fit in. He gets bullied by a bunch of kids who are karate students. He learns karate and enters a tournament to win their respect. Add in a little romance and a new friendship with his karate sensei/mentor, and it hits you in ALL the feels.

Thundarr100

Nah, I couldn't even make it through the third movie and I was/am obsessed with LotR

I would actually recommend she seeks out one of the "single movie" cuts that attempt to cut the entire trilogy down to a single film. They are legitimately better that way, with all of the fluff cut out.

WackySwacky

Not on the list but Amelie is an awesome feel good movie https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0211915/

Been thinking about it for a while, Nat, if you want a feel good movie, try “The Rocketeer”. It was a box office flop, but mainly because of the movies that came out immediately before and in the weeks following it’s release (Including Point Break, Terminator 2 and Naked Gun 2 ½). Once you’ve done with Spider-Man: Far from home, I’d follow it with Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse and The Rocketeer as a couple of feel good stand alone superhero movies (at least, stand alone for now).

Darren Withers

Yeah the Hobbit is not really a feel good movie imo. but it's a fun trilogy to watch. Btw, I commented this in your Gladiator video, I'd recommend watching "A GOOD YEAR". It's a Ridley Scott movie but unlike his usual Multi-million block buster movies. Now that's what I would call a feel good movie.

this will get me to watch the 3rd httyd! happy about it.

kele nitoto

Come on people, The Hobbit for Nat!

Thomas Grasmuk

I'd be happy for any, although it's been a while since Nat's reactions to LoTR, so we must be due for The Hobbit soon. I am glad that it's HTYD, though, as it's an amazing trilogy and I'm looking forward to this!

Kassandra Jeffery

I am here to request you watching First Man with Ryan Gosling once again, thanks for your content!

Ty Rogers

I guess it is How to train your dragon. Hobbit - not really a feel good movie. BTTF - kinda takes the fun out of it if you have seen it already. Some classic feel good movies from the 80s... Short Circuit, Better off Dead, Big, Can't Buy Me Love, Dirty Dancing, Ferris Buellers day off, License to drive, My Cousin Vinny, Secret of my Success, some Kind of Wonderful, Men at Work. just to name a few. ok, there might be a couple from the early 90s in that list.

James Young

FANTASTIC film. Rip Torn steals it.

Ortizmo2000

literally anything but the hobbit

Interstellar

I’m going to second “My cousin Vinnie” and “School of Rock” here.

Darren Withers

I'm still rooting for AMERICAN GRAFFITI with a young Harrison Ford in a supporting role.

Robert Jewell

Okay, somebody else on the Reactor-verse already just got saddled with Sneakers as a request-tier pick, and nobody else could figure out the slightest reason why. Either you're taking these fan-requests door-to-door, and making her do these solely BECAUSE another one did, or there's something going on with this movie that the rest of us don't know about...

Eric Janssen

Casablanca should be done at some point

Adolfo Acosta

It's not THAT bad.

Adolfo Acosta

I made a vote. May I suggest Sneakers from 1992

Cwbebop

I wouldn’t call the hobbit trilogy “feel good”. For anyone that read and loved the book and liked The Lord of the Rings movies, it is pain and suffering from beginning to end seeing what was done to it.

Steve Karmesin

Can't really say Hobbit is really a feel good trilogy. It's kind of a bunch of things which don't really fall into that, even if you enjoy it overall.

Kelvin

How to Train Your Dragon defiantly a feel good movie. I wouldn't call The Hobbit trilogy a feel good movie. Not that it's bad or a downer but however you felt after The Lord Of The Rings is going to be how you feel after The Hobbit. No offence to anyone but The Hobbit is worth a watch. I enjoyed it. I have no idea why The Hobbit is hated so much it is my top 5 favourite movies.

Jonathan Deguire

You can skip the Hobbit trilogy. It was a mess and brings nothing to the table except 9 hours of filler.

Paul C

Natalie, for a feel-good movie, I'd like to recommend, Defending Your Life (1991), which was written, directed, and stars Albert Brooks (no relation to Mel Brooks).

Ron

Let me think, "a feel good movie", I take it you mean something without the heavy drama or thriller. Personally, I wouldn't choose any of the poll choices. How about My Cousin Vinny? Or maybe Rat Race, as dumb as it was, it made me laugh. Night at the Museum would be good. Oh... wait... School of Rock with Jack Black! That would be awesome!

Super Dave

Definitely plan on doing some Disney!! ☺️

Natalie Gold

Love that movie!

Natalie Gold

Save yourself the time and energy and just skip The Hobbit trilogy. Straight up garbage in pretty much every aspect. Its as bad as the LotR trilogy was great. The How To Train series is super enjoyable.

JayWantsACat

I would like Natalie Gold to react to either The Departed or Wayne's World.

Tristan Ryan Cox

Oh, A Knight's Tale! Yes.

JLee

my picks 1- I am Sam 2- Almost Famous 3- A Knight's Tale 4- Mr & Mrs Smith

JarHead0351

Looking like it's HTTYD pulling/polling well ahead. I'm cool with that. That said, I'm throwing a few other fun suggestions out by there for future consideration: Clue, Parenthood, and Defending Your Life

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

The Story of Us!!!

Vega

I guess the third Hobbit technically made me feel Good, by the definition that Unstoppable Laughter is a Good kind of feeling.

Martin Heron

The Hobbit belongs in a "feel disappointed movie" poll. Nothing about these movies made me feel good except for the excitement of hearing that they were being made.

My_Cousin_Mose

Little Miss Sunshine

Travis

I love Hobbit trilogy, of course LOTR is better, but still Hobbit trilogy is much better than most of other fantasy movies last 20 years.

Radek Nohejl

Mia Tiffany already did one last week, and the other next week. Just getting Natalie past the basic minimum, and if she's already seen BTTF...

Eric Janssen

Stardust is sooo good! And very underrated

Can't vote for any of these. Been done by other reactors. How about something better like James Cameron's True Lies, one of the best action flicks ever? How about an old classic screwball comedy like Arsenic and Old Lace or Bringing Up Baby?

Mike LL

HTTYD Trilogy is a fun and addictive series with AWESOME music

Ulrich Unterbrunner

Never Ending Story? Legend? Good Omens? Stardust? Mirrormask? Coraline?

Jack Dingler

I’m picking How to Train Your Dragon because I haven’t seen it either and want to watch it at the same time with you, lol!

K-man2U

First one was the only one worth watching. After the success of LOTR, with one team and director working all the way through ... I guess the studios figured multiple directors would be even better.

Jack Dingler

This gets my vote!

Tommy Pitts

Asking about feel good content after watching 3 seasons of game of thrones... hmm...

Joseph Pecoraro

You will LOVE (!) How to Train Your Dragon

Still pushing hard for Inside Out - its one of the most beautiful movies ever written.

Ellis Hugh

If we're gunna start delving into animation, I'm gunna have to throw in my recommendation for the Clone Wars series and the DCAMU (DC Animated Movie Universe)

The Golgothan

Agree completely. The first one is good, the second one is better.

Ellis Hugh

Heart says BTTF, but HTTYD would be something new for me, so go Dragon!

Matthew Periolat

The Hobbit trilogy is awful. Near unforgivable type awful.

John Weyen

Would love to do the Hobbit!

Grady Jaymes Smith

How to Train Your Dragon is just delightful!

Connor Alexander

Walter Mitty? Yes--We need more Danny Kaye! One of the other reactors just got a copy of The Court Jester from a fan, and we've been nagging at her to watch it.

Eric Janssen

How to Train Your Dargon is awesome, and the second one is even better in my opinion. I liked the third one better than the first one as well, though not as much as the second one, though I think I might be in the minority to rank them in that order.

Felix Bergman

I happen to love the hobbit. I hope it eventually wins. I'm not into animation movies personally

Abeer Nasser Alkethairi

Gotta say the hobbit is definitely not feel good content and is more just long and bad

Rey

How to train your dragon trilogy is simply amazing, all 3 movies are great and the trilogy have a fantastic ending. And the music is just magical.

Vegard Strøm

The Hobbit films are worth skipping. Train dragons instead!

12 Feet Up

I dunno, the theatricals were long enough.

Michael G. Munz

I suggest the Pixar movie Brave

Sandu Bogi Nasse

I hope that "How to train your Dragon" wins, it was a pleasant surprise to discover how good this movie actually was. I was expecting a mediocre kids movie but man was I wrong and I really wanna see Natalie react to it.

DarkJokester

Don’t forget far from home. I would personally advise against the hobbit films. They’re not nearly as good as LotR.

Robert Gruhn

Rocky! Rocky! Rocky! Rocky! Rocky!

Brandon Scott

How to train your dragon, absolutely! You must watch all three though, don’t just stop at one. On a side note, I would strongly advise you do not jump straight into the Marvel TV properties after you finish the films. I would watch the X-Men movies, not all of them, and you may want to brush up on the other Spider-Man movies before MCU Spider-Man 3 this Christmas.

JediLounger

How much of Back to the Future can you remember tho? If it's like Indiana Jones, that's my clear, undoubted choice. If you remember a lot, no. The fun of a reaction video comes from watching you react to new things. Being a lifelong lover of The Hobbit novel, I'm extremely disappointed and annoyed by Jackson's movies. HTTYD I've never seen and likely never will.

Robert Reichle

I’ve been watching the Indiana Jones movies with Natalie, and it been a real joy to see her reaction with laughter and tears but mainly screaming, after watching such traumatic episodes of GoT, wouldn’t it be better to continue to joy and watch something more fun and light hearted, as I’ve already suggested how about the classic Romancing the stone and jewel of the Nile there great funny adventure movies.

RebRox65

dragon has great music

Tom Tomlinson

Hobbit trilogy, but watch extended editions same as was LOTR.

Radek Nohejl

How to Train Your Dragon really just captures the childhood magic of reading a book. I'm curious what you'll make of it.

Daniel Horsman

Feel-god? Deffo HTTYD. Still, I'd love to watch The Hobbit "with you" at some point!

Axel Dietze

I know Spider-Man: Far from Home is next for MCU, but after that it's WandaVision, which I think you'll love.

Daniel Ketchum

Such great choices but (for me - the animation, heart and story are all there with HTTYD). Thanks for having on the poll! The Hobbit and Back to the Future, ROCK but I think after the heartache of Marvels Avengers Endgame, How to Train Your Dragon will lift spirits and bring smiles (and maybe some happy tears).

This_Jedi_crafts

Only reason I chose How to train Your Dragon is because you've already seen Back to the Future. HTTYD is a very good animated trilogy. The Hobbit trilogy is nowhere near as good as the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but it's still fun in it's own way. It should not have been 3 movies, but 1 movie about the same length as the Return of the King (either version).

Ilsuk Yang

HTTYD is wonderful, and especially relatable if you have a cat (or dog).

tezster

Hobbit isn't as feel good you may think it is. 😏 But I do want you to see it. Lots of reactors to Back to the Future of late, so I gotta go with How to Train your Dragon. Solid films all three.

David of the North

I'm old, have seen it many times, but I still watch HTTYD sometimes. Love them. Been hoping we could do these sometime. Any chance for Walter Mitty at some point? (If you already saw that one, I understand.)

Geoffrey Cahoon

Great Scott! Back to the Future, absolutely!! 😄❤️

David Blake

I'm a cynical bitter old man, and I still love me some How to Train Your Dragon trilogy.

Steve J

I will always watch HTTYD when I have the time. Some of the best movies in my library, and a well-crafted trilogy where each movie adds something to the one before it. Can’t recommend it enough.

Maria Ghiglieri

Only have seen the first dragon movie but for "feelgood", I go with this far above the Hobbit. There are "feelgood" moments in the Hobbit but it's NOT a "feelgood" movie. Also, sorry to fans of bttf movies but I've never seen and frankly don't care whether or not I ever do.

MertzRocks

How dare you sir

James Willingham III

Love all of these! But HtTYD feels like the right ones to dive into next!

Jesse Arnold

There is nothing...NOTHING....”feel-good”.about the Hobbit Trilogy. It’s a “Feel-BAD” series, or more accurately, a “Suffer never-ending excruciating torment” series....😫

Eric Janssen

She doesn't post on the weekend.

Bryce

Happy Saturday, Natalie! 😊 I went with the "Back to the Future" trilogy for this one. Although, I have heard that "How to Train Your Dragon" is cute. Have a great day! 😊 Stay Golden! 💛

Randee Carreno

As someone with two black cats that remind me if the dragon (don't want to spoil the name), I vote for how to train your dragon! Since your dog is also all black, I feel like you will also relate!

Lisa Tosti

Any of these sound so good! Off Topic: Anyone else F5'ing hoping for Batman today? 🦇

AtomicAcorn

I love The Hobbit, but I don’t know that I’d call it a feel good series

Star Stormer

My vote goes to How to Train Your Dragon. When you watch The Hobbit trilogy, seek out the Extended Editions. They play as more well-rounded movies compared to the theatrical cuts.

Oh I want to comment on both of these but there's no way it wouldn't involve spoilers.

G. T. Blackwell

Toothless hopefully wins finally 🤞really think Nat will love it tbh 💛

Ian

Absolutely gotta go with the Dragon Trilogy. Love that series! “Thank you for nothing, you useless reptile” 😂

Ken “Chaos” McKee

The day may come when The Hobbit wins this poll. But I fear it is not this day!

Actually I think the second one is the best then the first then third obviously the worst! But she has to watch them at least once in her life! She can’t watch Lotr without the Hobbit! You guys insane!? Lol

VidKris

Definitely How to Train Your Dragon. The Hobbit Movies are tedious wastes of time and Back to the Future, as much as I love the first movie, drags in movies 2 and 3, plus BTTF2 hits just a little too close to home after the last four years, sooo....

G. T. Blackwell

Usual Suspects or Seven. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

How to Train your Dragon is an amazing piece of work and so much fun, and John Powell's Oscar nominated score is just incredible. Third time lucky for the Dragon. Thanks for keeping the feel good vibes flowing Nat 💛

Darryl Low

You gotta watch the Hobbit trilogy for the culture!!!

Alex De Santiago

I second this!! Amazing movie. And the soundtrack wow!!

Fiorella Burgos

I know many don't like The Hobbit Trilogy but the first film is solid to me, it's when you get to movies 2 & 3 that problems start to show.

Game Wizard001

You should watch the greatest showman. It's a great movie

Fiorella Burgos

How to train your dragon is pretty awesome

Kingsley

But she still has to watch the Hobbit trilogy!! Just once!

VidKris

Oof, I can't even pretend to care about The Hobbit movies.

Joe Blankenship

How about some disney like Tangled?

FatLittleButterfly

Are we picking a film or a series? All of these are trilogies, but only The Hobbit says, "Trilogy"

David

How to Train Your Dragon is also a trilogy...

RobTheFarm

I was thinking the other day that we need to give you a break on all the tears. I'll try to think of some good comedies and feel good movies that maybe you haven't seen yet.

Tony Sanson

Can we please finally watch The Hobbit trilogy! (Extended edition!) it’s been a while since Lotr! She has to watch it at least once guys!

VidKris

Please do all! Never seen the dragon series and have been wanting to revisit the others 😃

If you do HTTYD you totally need to watch all of them! I think the 2nd might be my favorite but they are all amazing! 🥰

Kelli E.

Hobbittttttt

Lock_Down

The hobbit isn’t exactly feel good lmao but i always liked it and serves as a great prequel to lotr at least imo

ISeeTrees ofGreen

The Greatest Showman

Josh Edkins

As much as I love the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit trilogy just isn’t that good to be honest. How to Train Your Dragon is a much better option, whether it’s the trilogy or just the first film!
