Comments

No cheese was detected in this episode

Anthony Curione

I guess I dont see all the cheese you saw , this was the best episode of the series, and probably the best fanfair ive seen from marvel with all the easter eggs.

LightsCameraJake

You are more or less right. He basically had almost the same life, or at least not different enough to be detected by the TVA. We can't technically say when his timeline began to differ, but we know it was before Thanos because he hasn't used knives like our Loki, and he used that time to focus on honing his magical skill.

Foxyguava

I honestly wish they had called it the smoke walrus

Travis

The weird thing is, for fans of the comics, this was the ultimate episode. So many Easter Eggs, and I know for the casual viewer that's not important, but. Check out the New Rockstars video on this episode, I'd love to see your reaction to that video.

The Goateed Geek

Sad to hear you didn't like this episode and Majors' performance as much as others. But, we're all entitled to our opinions and I'm not someone who gets upset when someone else doesn't like the same things I do (seriously, some people react like they're the creators themselves and get completely offended when others dislike it). This show's purpose was to ease people into the next phase of the MCU. Just as the Doctor Strange movie was to ease people into the idea that "magic" exists and is real in the MCU, and just as Guardians of the Galaxy was to ease people into the idea that there's a whole new set of stories in space and earth is not the center of it; this show exists to ease people into the idea of a multiverse and that there are some pretty big threats that can come out of it. For that, it serves its purpose.

Jomero

Maybe the poor writing of GOT season 7 is causing her to question even other content she's watching

Ben Garrod

You seemed a little less receptive than usual this week? Hope everything in your life is okay! Your insight is always on-point, so without trying to see through biased eyes, I can see your point of view. I enjoyed this episode immensely (I binged the whole show before but enjoy seeing your reaction and have re-watched it with you), and never noticed how many times Sylvie mentioned the plan!

Edward Of DOOM

i see what you did there a major... like jonathan

Ben Gilshenan

The repeating of the main storyline honestly doesn't take much away from this for me. It was definitely necessary for some of the more casual Marvel fans in order to keep them engaged (especially with a week to week release), and it's especially important with all of the information in the finale. Everything about this episode was great imo, especially as a comic fan. Getting to see Richard E Grant as classic Loki was amazing and I love how powerful he is. Can't wait for the finale!

Dante

I was surprised that you found this episode cheesy (and I assume in a bad way), as this was what I had expected the show to be like from the start, and up until this point (and the credit reveal of the previous episode), I had felt like it had been a bait-and-switch where the show's concept was concerned. (The opening logo even showed all the different ways to format the fonts for the word "Loki," but we kept only having two variants the whole time. So I was super pleased to see interactions with more Lokis, cheesy or otherwise.)

Troy B.

I was just going to say, I think she’s going to be like what the hell is going on, who is this, I’m so confused

The repeating did grate on my nerves as well and despite the giant smoke monster I felt like this episode was filler (especially the fight scene between the Loki's. For me the saving grace was seeing all the Loki's from my child and teen years show up. Loved it. Looking forward to the last episode with you.

Garrick Smalley

Can’t wait for the next Episode. Nat will be like “Who’s this person I’m so confused right now”

Daniel Casillas

Lowkey huh? 😂 It’s gonna be interesting to see how she reacts to the finale!

Alex De Santiago

I thought the series was good and I'm sure expensive to produce. I give them credit because it has to be a challenge to satisfy the current Marvel audience, the comic book purists and beyond. I don't mind a bit of "cheese" in each episode - I think the repeating of Sylvie's purpose just further drives her character trait home. I really enjoyed the series the first time around but admit that I did have to go to The NewRockstars (on YouTube) - I know - it sounds as though I'm trying to shamelessly promote them - I'm not - I just found the host to be a true comic fan with great videos on the story and any "easter eggs." It really helped me navigate any "What the....." moments, throughout the series.

This_Jedi_crafts

Man... you are turning into quite the contrarian...

Derik Knutson

The ship ending up the void was the USS Eldridge. Look up the conspiracy theory known as the Philadelphia Experiment.

Connor Ellis

Thanos had a helicopter to get around in the comics.

Connor Ellis

That's part of why I enjoy Natalie's reactions so much. She will sit stone-faced over something I'm sobbing about, and vice versa. And then she cackles and calls out the cheesiness of a line and I'm like "I'm crying here!" She can be pretty unpredictable sometimes, I love it.

RE

This is just the first season. It doesn't stand alone because it's not meant to stand alone. Absolutely it's not supposed to feel complete when compared with WandaVision and TFATWS. It's like saying you think the first chapter of a book is too short.

YodatheHobbit

Wow, I fully expected you to cry at the Mobius Loki hug and no tears at all! What? For me this episode was intensely emotional and of course at other parts really fun.

YodatheHobbit

Of all the new MCU TV shows Loki feels wayyy too short. The problem isnt that its rushed, its that the story is intentionally simplistic so they can explain these big timetravel concepts. Which is fine if you've never watched Doctor Who but I think most comic-savy people get the jist. It also results in characters feeling overly simplistic; which is a problem when Loki is the protagonist!! They demonstrate his arc but they don't make you feel it! The character we fell in love with was also obstinate and tricky whereas here Loki just goes along with everything he comes across. The solution for me would have been to have 2 more episodes; really establish the TVA status quo before bringing it down, show more of the multiverse!! I get that there's more to come and that this has huge MCU implications but as a standalone series it feels hollow

George Baxter

They miss a major opportunity if the gator's name isn't Loki-fenokee.

Ben Wheeler

Omg this is amazingly put together! you made this? This is gonna help me out greatly in the future thanks

Balkyne

I mean it's an episode of levity in an otherwise pretty serious series, and given how over the top and quote on quote cheesy Loki himself can be, it makes sense in a episode with a whole bunch of different Loki's double crossing each other.

Balkyne

Whilst I agree they do move slowly at times of urgency, I'd argue in the last scene they were still focusing on keeping Alioth enchanted and needed to move slowly

Balkyne

i think the cheesiness in this episode was intentional, because next episode is a totally different vibe. either that or the writers got lazy just to set up the finale lol

Gek

The Thanos helicopter was an Easter egg referencing a goofy toy that Marvel once sold.

Kevin Maguire

I think the yellow Loki s ours from Infinity war. Just older.

Christopher Boscarino

I assumed it was being born female as she is the only female Loki we see.

Christopher Boscarino

"We want the finest wines available to humanity. And we want them here, and we want them now!"

Paul Gibbons

Richard E. Grant is a world treasure.

RE

Love the casting for the show. Marvel does a really good job at picking the people in their shows and movies. Such a fun episode. Thanks Nat!

Tranquil_Gnome

I loved this episode. For the Loki Alligator alone, it would be one of my favorite episodes of any of the Disney + series. I especially love it when they show characters reacting to something and then the camera cuts to the alligator as if we are supposed to get how it's reacting too. Hilarious.

Robert Reichle

I can finally share my favorite meme from this episode! https://i.redd.it/z3yr5z3jvt971.jpg

UngawdlyJish

BTW: Sylvie's nexus event when she was playing with her dolls was that she decided that moment that she would become a Valkyrie and be a hero to her people, which the TVA did not want.

Kevin

Yup, I’m hyped lol

Alex De Santiago

All the over exposition is necessary for what comes in the finale. Writers and creators already knew this concept would introduce so much new detail that viewers will forget how each of Sylvie’s and Loki’s plans tie in. When you find yourself asking the questions you will undoubtedly ask at the end of episode 6, recall what Sylvie, Loki, Renslayer, Mobius, and “others” have said. It will all make sense

Joel

Sylvie repeating herself has been more or lessthe same IMO. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Episode was still good. The finale is wild and has huge implications for the MCU as a whole! Excited for tomorrow when you drop it! 🙂

Alex De Santiago

Sylvie's Nexus event was starting down a heroic path as a child.

Ben

Still love that hug ☺️

XanderWhat

Thanks for your reaction today Nat, but yeah, that episode felt like 45 minutes of my life that I will never get back 😂😂😂 Fingers crossed for the finale tomorrow 💛

Darryl Low

Hi and thanks Nat for your reaction 😃, I was sure you would think that way hahaha Indeed this episode is more cheesy than the others haha However it didn't take anything away from the quality of your reaction 😄, you're as always so bubbly 😆 I can't wait to discover your final thought about the show! I hope you're fine, take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

The navy ship was part of the Philadelphia experiment a conspiracy theory about time travel https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_Experiment

Happy marvel Monday Nat loved the dolphin clip u posted looked like you're having a good time 👍 gotta love queen right 🤩 this episode is a tad nuts that's all I can say about it tbh 😂 but I hope you still manage to enjoy it and on that note lets see shall we 💛 oh and yes it was indeed the sphinx

Ian

Happy Marvel Monday, Natalie! 😊 This was such a great episode. I loved how the Real Loki just stood back, and watched all of the Loki variants fight each other. LOL! So many other scenes that I enjoyed. Glad that Mobius showed up when he did to save Sylvie. Loved the moment between Loki and Sylvie towards the end of the episode while Mobius talked with the other Loki variants. And I think that Loki has a good friend in Mobius. I loved that shot of the Classic Loki variant conjuring up Asgard while Loki & Sylvie work together to enchant Alioth. Have a great day today! 😊 Until the next video, Stay Golden! 💛

The Thanoscopter comes from the comics. Back in cheesier days when they were trying to sell toys. And that was a Frog Thor in that jar. Throg. That's from the comics too. Loki turned Thor into a frog.

Joe Blankenship

Alioth the smoke walrus...I can never unlearn that.

Essero Eson

Happy Marvel Monday. Awesome shirt Nat. I love it.
