Rewrite the Stars || BTS 4

Welcome to a new edition of Behind The Scenes, where I share the WIPs, outlines, and some of my thoughts as I drew pages 7 and 8.

Last week's pages took me more time than I thought would be possible. These two didn't take as much, but they still took a looooooong time. But at least I'm happy with how they came out, for the most part, so I don't have much to complain in that sense.

Let's see, first I'll share the outline and then the sketch.

> They buy stuff at the mall, then Lincoln asks to go to the comic book store real quick. While he's in there, Polly shows up. She and Lynn have a quick chat, prom comes up, and that Lynn's there with Linc.

As you can see, this sketch was super clean. The reason was that I needed to make sure I knew what I was doing with the backgrounds. And then, I basically had to design an older Polly, so I needed some level of detail to make sure the design made sense.

Turns out she's not all that different from her canonical appearance. I considered changing her hair more, but in the end, I decided that it would be better if she just stayed as recognizable as possible.

And since I already had Polly's sketches with more detail, I just went ahead and did the same for Lynn and Lincoln lol

Fun fact: the addition of Polly was almost a last-minute call, cause up until the end of December, I wasn't sure if I wanted to include these pages or not. As I've mentioned in the announcement of this issue of the comic, this one's going to be 26 pages long instead of 20. And I wasn't sure if I was ready for that or not. But I decided to make it longer to give the story and character beats more room, so here's the scene and the character I ultimately chose to be there with Lynn.

Also, fun fact, the "Poster" in the comic book store became the cover of my "Nova: Homecoming" fanfic, with Lori at the front. I was going to use the cover I did for my other fanfic "Ace Savvy: A New Hope", but that one had Lincoln without his costume at the forefront, and that would have been too on the nose, lmao.

Regarding the next page, the outline read:

> Polly notices Lincoln, she hasn't seen him in forever. Asks Lynn if he has a date already. Lynn, out of jealousy, says he does, that Polly better keep her distance. Polly leaves.

This one page was much easier, cause most of the backgrounds were just plain colors or reused shots from the previous page. So I allowed myself to focus on the character expressions, and let me tell you, I really like all of them! A friend of mine told me Polly looks like a Muppet in the first panel, but oh well lol

I think the Lynn in the third panel is a pretty good reaction meme, and the one in the bottom left looks adorable to me.

There isn't any easter egg or anything on this page... But I did make one mistake in one of the backgrounds. I'm not gonna say what it is, though, cause you guys probably won't notice and I don't wanna look like a fool!
