It wasn’t a plane. It wasn’t a bird. And it sure wasn’t Superman.
She arrived in the sky over Metropolis without warning—gliding on pure muscle-powered flight, wrapped in a sleeveless silver-and-black suit that barely contained her titanic physique. Her name was Mira Voss, a theoretical physicist last seen vanishing during a failed dark energy experiment. But now, five years later, she was... different.
No longer slight, no longer mortal.
Now, she cast a shadow that blanketed the Daily Planet building from a mile high. Now, even Superman stood in silence when she landed.
“Who are you?” he asked, arms crossed, cape fluttering.
She smiled. That smile. Calm, amused. Dominant.
“I used to work in your shadow,” she said. “Now I outshine you.”
And then, before the cameras, before the stunned crowd, Mira flexed.
Skyscrapers groaned. Clouds parted. And Superman—the Superman—winced.
