This is a Sketch Exclusive, a Patreon-exclusive summary of stuff from the month, interesting things I just can’t help but share, and other ramblings!

Happy Lunar New Year, all!
It seems another month has moved on without us. My mind seems to be stuck at early December 2021; I feel like Christmas should be ahead of us not behind us (I'm probably just wishing my boss and coworkers would take some time from work and I can get a few stat holidays!) Here's some interesting stuff for this month...
Mannequins!
The first thing I'd like to share is the newest Body-kun and Body-chan! They're mannequins for drawing; kind of like those wooden mannequins from the arts n crafts store, but more anime and they have more joint movement. This one with guidelines is also very new. They're also super tiny, rare and quite expensive, like an art luxury item! I think she is meant to be 13.5cm and he is 15cm. I placed an order for a pair of them just a few days ago and now I check the tracking daily to see where they are.

But getting to the point of even ordering one was a mission! There are entire sites of fake Body-kun/Body-chan for cheap that are drop-shipped to people. The fakes have all sorts of problems - flimsy joints that fall apart, wrong proportions etc. But the worst part! The fakes are sold in the same box as the originals! (Some have even found the seal on the original box tampered with, and the item inside had been bait-and-switched!)
So on one hand, you have people selling fakes in real boxes specifically trying to scam artists. On the other hand, scalpers are making a killing selling allegedly real ones for hundreds of dollars, with one as high as $1000 because the seller was simply greedy! I wouldn't be surprised if there was one of the latter sending fakes too! Who would have thought getting a mannequin for ARTISTS the size of a mini action figure was so difficult?!
Overall, I spent just over $120 for both, plus shipping. I tried my best to get a real one - seeing that it had the right packaging, the figure inside the clear panel didn't look wonky, and most importantly that the seller took a picture of the actual box and the box didn't look tampered with. This one with the wireframe lines is a new release as well. I'm hoping the counterfeiters haven't had time to copy this one.
Up Next: Peach Girl Poll Result
The results of the Peach Girl poll are in! And the drawing is currently in progress. Can you tell who it is? ;)
